Lily’s POV Ethan and the other mbers had to deal with the ss after the battle and patrol the territory, so they couldn’t leave. I was worried about those two good friends, so I called on Xaver, who was more considerate, and his partner Renee to follow Jacob and Celena together. To our surprise, Celena didn’t erupt with the fierce hatred she’d shown toward Jacob or anyone else before. She rely knelt before the empty grave, her shoulders sagging, her head lowered, and let out suppressed, dejected and sorrowful sobs. That crying was more heart-wrenching than an angry roar. She has changed and matured, that’s what I think. Jacob stood a few paces away, fists clenched, face pale, like a child who’d done wrong but didn’t know how to make ands. Xaver frowned slightly and ssaged through the link: Lily, this is odd. This girl’s wolf... its scent is faint. I can barely sense it. Sothing’s not right. I glanced at the weeping Celena and sighed in reply: Maybe she’s just been through too much lately? Wolves need ti to recover too. Let’s hope so. Hunter Carl’s POV Under the dim lights of the secret hideout, Carl stood before a tal dissection table, staring at the young body wrapped in a black body bag. This was his only son, Brett. He had placed great hopes in him, expecting him to inherit his will and beco an exceptional hunter, purifying this world. But Brett chose betrayal. He betrayed the family, betrayed the hunter’s creed, and threw himself to those filthy werewolves. Carl kept saying he’d kill this traitor with his own hands, but the hunters under him knew full well what the boss truly wanted: to capture his lost son, lock him up, and keep him there until he "ca to his senses." Now, all he had was a cold corpse. His hand trembled as he gently traced the massive, savage scar across Brett’s face and neck, the claw marks left by a wolf. That wound had taken his son’s life. All the pain, loss and irreparable regrets were distorted into overwhelming hatred at this mont. It’ was all the fault of those werewolves! It was that evil and depraved race that tempted his son, led him astray and eventually killed him! His gaze grew cold and resolute. To avenge his son, he would pay any price, even if it ant... making a deal with a filthy soul.
