He carried on as if he hadn’t heard "I see you haven’t changed" the disapproval was obvious in his voice as he looked over, and sha filled and I wanted to hide myself but I wasn’t going to show him "Still haven’t lost the weight have you? You should really cut off on the chocolate"
I didn’t answer him and he laughed "You know I don’t know why you made it end with Luke. I bet you never got another relationship didn’t you?"
I felt as if I was about to cry and couldn’t answer, I never answered and I felt like a coward for it. I suddenly felt an arm slung over my shoulder "Hey, baby. Sorry I’m late there was this broken down car that caused traffic, you wouldn’t believe" The familiar voice said and I stood there stunned as he kissed my cheek, Adrian was here.
Adrian turned and seed to just notice Nigel "Oh, hey. I’m Adrian, Nate’s boyfriend. And you are?"
"Nigel, I’m a friend" Nigel said narrowing his eyes at Adrian. I stayed silent looking shocked as I stared at Adrian, what was he doing here? His face didn’t give away anything, but it was intimidating how emotionless it was, the cold look seed scary.
"I should go, Nate." Nigel said "By the way, Luke said he wants to see you and that you should call him"
Before I got to answer Adrian cut in "Oh that’s a great idea" he said, hostility evident in his voice now "You tell Luke I’d love to et him"
Nigel glared at Adrian before turning around and storming away, as soon as he was out of eye sight, Adrian hugged , burying his nose in my hair "God, I missed you"
"Adrian..." I stuttered and he let go and looked at guiltily
"I’m sorry I’m sorry you just accepted , I shouldn’t push my limits and--"
"What are you doing here?" I interrupted him, staring at him in shock. I couln’t believe he was here. Part of was ecstatic but the other part was terrified.
Adrian looked nervously at "I didn’t like the way you sounded on the phone, I knew you were trying to hide it but it was obvious you weren’t happy and I couldn’t stay there knowing you were here and miserable."
I stared at him speechless, he ca all this way because he didn’t like the way I sounded on the phone? "I can’t believe you did that for , I can’t believe you care so much"
Sothing passed in Adrian’s eyes and he took a deep breath and reached into his pocket, pulling out a familiar scarf, i looked at it for a mont and gasped "is that...?"
"Yeah, it’s the scarf yu wore with your dress, the one you forgot in my room all those years ago, it was the only thing I had to remind of you, of your scent so I kept it. Doesn’t that show you that I more than care, Nate. I love you"
I looked at him, the words on the tip of my tongue but was I ready to say them? "I want you to et soone" I said as I took his hand and led him down the path. Sohow knowing Adrian was going to be with made what I was about to do a little less scary.
"Where are we going, Nate?"
"You’ll see"
i walked and took a deep breath when I saw the place, I felt the sadness creep up on and Adrian got quiet once he too saw what I was looking at. We walked in the grass, until we finally stopped and I staed down and felt the tears prick at my eyes as I looked down at my brother’s grave, it was the first ti I had seen it since the funeral and I felt my heart break all over again.
"Hey, Gabe" I whispered kneeling down on the floor and gently touching his na engrave on the stone "Sorry I haven’t been here in a while, I moved out. Just like I promised to." I took a shaky breath "I miss you so much and I’m trying to be strong and not get depressed like I promised you to, but its been so hard." I sniffed as the tears fell on my face.
I felt Adrian’s arms wrap around my waist from behind, I looked back and saw his pained expression, I smiled reassuringly and turned back to Gabriel "I found an apartnt where Patrick lives, he was ecstatic which reminds he really is gay, just like you told he was the last ti you saw him." I laughed "You always saw stuff others didn’t, I still don’t know how" I closed my eyes tying to stop crying but I couldn’t "I got a job with so really great people, they’re all like a family."
"And then there’s one guy" I said smiling, looking back at Adrian "And he is so amazing, and so perfect and he loves ." Adrian smiled softly at "And I’m so lucky he does." I turned back to Gabe, "His na is Adrian and he’s here right now. Thank you, Gabe for sending him to "
I looked back at Adrian and almost cried at the amount of love in his eyes "Thank you" he choked out "For trusting enough to bring here" he leaned forward and seed a bit hesitant as he lightly brushed his lips against mine. I imdiately reassured him by kissing him back. I trusted him; the werewolf thing was still going to need a bit of getting used to, but no one has ever been as great with as Adrian was; and I couldn’t forget all the great things about him and focus only on one small thing that I still didn’t know if it was good or bad.
