Seeing Shen Yubai’s ssage, Xu Chuning was stunned for a few seconds and asked uncertainly, "To the shop?"

Shen Yubai: "Hmm"

Xu Chuning was taken aback and instinctively asked, "Is there sothing you need at the shop?"

Shen Yubai: "?"

Just as Xu Chuning was about to ask him what that question mark ant, Shen Yubai’s new ssage arrived first on her phone: "Can’t I co if there’s nothing?"

Xu Chuning: "..."

That wasn’t what she ant.

Seemingly knowing what she was thinking, Shen Yubai added, "To see you."

Xu Chuning paused, held her phone in a daze for a mont, then looked down and replied to him, "Oh."

But why Shen Yubai was looking for her, Xu Chuning didn’t know for the mont.

She guessed that Shen Yubai must have sothing important to find her about.

Thinking about it, Xu Chuning reopened the class group chat to check the end-of-term exam results. The top student in their class had changed, and Xu Chuning was ranked second for the first ti.

Seeing the familiar na at the top, Xu Chuning’s eyebrows lifted slightly. She saved the report card to her phone, then tapped on Shen Sinian’s QQ and sent him a ssage.

Right now, Shen Sinian was probably in training. He had gone to the agency he had signed with a few days ago, and by night, Min Jian had taken him to et the director of the movie they had talked about previously.

A bit fortunately, the director took one look at Shen Sinian and felt his aura matched one of the characters in the movie. Knowing he was still a high school student with no prior acting experience, he even thought it was great - the character in the movie needed a newbie like Shen Sinian, who wasn’t shaped by systematic acting, a blank slate, perfect for drawing upon.

The signing went very smoothly.

In just two days, Min Jian and the production team arranged a series of training sessions for Shen Sinian, including acting lessons and training in various other aspects such as lines.

At the ti Xu Chuning sent the ssage, she figured he was still in class.

After sending the ssage, Xu Chuning put her phone down and continued with her howork.

As she was writing, You Shuzhen’s voice ca from outside the shop, "Xiao Shen, how co you’ve got ti to co over today?"

Followed by Shen Yubai’s clear and refreshing voice entering her ears, "Aunt You, I’ve co to find Xu Chuning."

"To find Ningning huh." You Shuzhen’s tone sounded very cheerful, "Ningning is doing her howork in the shop, go in."

At this mont, Aunt You was chatting with the owner of the neighboring shop.

Shen Yubai nodded slightly, "Alright, Aunt You."

After chatting a few words with You Shuzhen, Xu Chuning heard footsteps, she paused, then slowly lifted her head and looked towards the person who lifted the curtain and entered the shop.

It had only been five days since they last saw each other, but Xu Chuning inexplicably felt that Shen Yubai seed to have grown a bit taller, his hair had been cut short, revealing his handso and full brow bones, his long and deep eyes, his high nose bridge, and his face with smooth lines and contours.

Noticing her gaze, Shen Yubai lowered his eyes and looked at her, the corner of his lips slightly curled up, "What are you looking at?"

He asked her.

Xu Chuning’s gaze moved downward, landing on the bag in his hand, "What’s that you’re holding?"

Shen Yubai: "Calligraphy practice paper."

Xu Chuning: "Calligraphy practice paper?"

As they were speaking, Shen Yubai had already walked up to her, he casually sat down on the chair beside the table and placed the thing he was holding on the table, tilting his chin up slightly, "Take a look."

"?"

Xu Chuning was a bit confused, "?"

Shen Yubai raised his eyebrows, giving off a feeling of nonchalant amusent, "Who else?"

"..."

After a few seconds of silent eye contact, Xu Chuning opened the bag and took out the calligraphy models that Shen Yubai had ntioned. The calligraphy models were thick, consisting of several volus. Only after taking them out did Xu Chuning realize that Shen Yubai had brought not just calligraphy models but also practice exam papers from xx High School in Beicheng, among other things.

Xu Chuning was surprised: "What’s this?"

"You’re not good at geotry, are you?" Shen Yubai explained indifferently, "You can practice more during the sumr holidays. The practice exam papers from this school are quite good. The types of questions don’t repeat much and are quite challenging."

Xu Chuning blinked, "Thank you."

She then turned her attention back to the calligraphy practice models, "And this..."

Shen Yubai glanced at her, his tone casual, "Obviously, it’s for you to practice calligraphy."

Xu Chuning: "..."

When did she ever say she wanted to practice calligraphy?

Anticipating what she was thinking, Shen Yubai faintly raised his eyes, "Your handwriting is really too ugly."

"..." Xu Chuning choked up, slightly indignant, "I didn’t ask you to look."

Hearing this, Shen Yubai’s lips curled up slightly, "You wouldn’t want to regret that the signature of your future as a boss is ugly, would you?"

Xu Chuning was montarily speechless, deeply feeling that Shen Yubai knew how to hit where it hurts.

If she were to be just an average office worker in the future, she might not think too much about whether her handwriting was good or bad because she wouldn’t have many chances to write. However, Sinian had told them before that Xu Chuning was destined to be the boss of a chain restaurant, so she would have to sign many docunts.

After a mont of silence, Xu Chuning forced out a sentence, "Thank you, where did you buy these? How much were they? I’ll give you the money."

She flipped through it for a glance; the calligraphy models brought by Shen Yubai were of much better quality than the ones she had bought herself from the bookstore. Moreover, the models bought by Shen Yubai were not the kind that Xu Chuning had bought before, which were replicas for practicing standard script. He bought her a complete set that involved practicing from individual strokes, building up the structure, ensuring each stroke was mastered before moving on to the integrity of the standard script characters.

Upon hearing the word "money," Shen Yubai looked unenthusiastically towards Xu Chuning without saying a word.

Xu Chuning didn’t understand, "...Why aren’t you speaking?"

"I don’t really feel like talking to you," Shen Yubai bluntly said.

Xu Chuning was at a loss for words.

After a mont of silence, Shen Yubai lifted his eyelids and asked, "The exam results ca out, didn’t they?"

Xu Chuning responded vaguely.

"How is it?"

"...Not bad," Xu Chuning replied, "Sinian ranked first in the grade."

Shen Yubai’s brows slightly furrowed, his lips moved slightly, "I wasn’t asking about Sinian."

He was asking about her.

Xu Chuning was stunned for a mont, then realized, "I’m second."

"Where’s the report card?" Shen Yubai asked.

Xu Chuning took out her phone, "I saw it in the class group chat, you want to see?"

Shen Yubai humd in affirmation, "Let take a look."

Xu Chuning handed him the phone.

In fact, Xu Chuning’s score was nearly thirty points lower than Sinian’s.

Shen Yubai glanced at it, noticing the gap between the two was in mathematics and English. Sinian had indeed held back in the last monthly test; he had actually scored full marks in mathematics in the final exam but lost two points in English. Xu Chuning’s mathematics had improved since the monthly test, but not by much, while her English remained stable, with no significant breakthrough.

As for other subjects, Xu Chuning scored more than ten points higher in Chinese than Sinian, and the rest were similar.

After reading, Shen Yubai raised his eyebrows, "Your English score seems to have stayed the sa."

When the test was out of one hundred points, Xu Chuning could score ninety, and when out of one hundred fifty points, she remained steadily between one hundred thirty and one hundred thirty-five.

Hearing this, Xu Chuning montarily froze, blurting out, "How did you know?"
