Chapter 986: Chapter 987: You are a Fish, You Can Only Die

After Song Xiaodong beat up those police officers, Li Fangding got the news.

Song Xiaodong and his companions had always been a thorn in his side. As long as they weren’t dealt with, he felt uneasy. But over the past ten days, he hadn’t heard any news about Song Xiaodong. He genuinely believed Song Xiaodong was scared and didn’t dare to show up.

As a Deputy Mayor, he had the confidence that ca with his position. After all, in the eyes of ordinary people, the position of Deputy Mayor was intimidating enough; people didn’t fight against officials—a notion rooted in the public’s mind for thousands of years.

Upon returning from the island, Li Fangding’s achievents were exaggerated in the dia, earning him significant rit. Riding this wave of publicity, he was likely to move even further up, making this mont critically important. He couldn’t allow anyone to disrupt his plans for promotion.

But today, he suddenly received news that Song Xiaodong not only appeared but also took down several police officers and even recorded everything in an advantageous way—an exceptionally clever tactic.

From the words of those police officers, Li Fangding understood that Song Xiaodong was there to provoke him.

Then, in less than half an hour, he received more news: Song Xiaodong had actually gone to the ntal institution. This made him uneasy; if the matter escalated and drew dia attention, it would be hard to suppress.

So he imdiately drove to the ntal institution, arriving even before Zhao Ping.

Entering the ntal institution, he saw Song Xiaodong sitting on a stone bench in the yard, holding a woman in his arms.

The special police officers were surrounding Song Xiaodong, unclear about what they were doing.

“Deputy Mayor Li!” Wang Xianyun saw Li Fangding and quickly ca forward.

“Who are you?” Li Fangding looked at a man with a swollen face like a pig’s head and was startled.

“I’m Wang Xianyun.” Wang Xianyun said, feeling aggrieved.

With a furrowed brow, Li Fangding asked, “How did you end up like this?”

“That guy beat

up.” Wang Xianyun pointed at Song Xiaodong sitting there.

Li Fangding frowned and asked, “You got beaten up like this, what are those special police doing?”

Wang Xianyun quickly replied, “I don’t understand either. After the special police arrived, that guy seed to know Captain Zhao, and then Deputy Captain Li directly ordered to protect them rather than arrest him.”

Li Fangding’s face changed dramatically. In his position, he knew there had to be more to this. Zhao Ping, as the captain of the special police team, saying to protect Song Xiaodong ant that Song Xiaodong’s identity was quite extraordinary; otherwise, how could Zhao Ping dare to do this?

At this mont, Zhao Ping also arrived. Li Fangding quickly stopped him and whispered, “Captain Zhao, what’s going on here?”

Zhao Ping looked at Li Fangding and said, “Deputy Mayor Li, what’s going on with what?”

Li Fangding, with a stern face, replied, “He’s causing a disturbance here, and your special police team…”

“Deputy Mayor Li, I don’t even understand what’s happening yet. I need to figure it out before dealing with it. As special police, we arrest vicious criminals and handle major events. Let

go and ask about the situation.”

After speaking, Zhao Ping left Li Fangding and went straight to Song Xiaodong, snapping his heels together and standing at attention, delivering a standard military salute, and loudly saying to Song Xiaodong, “Hello, Instructor!”

Li Fangding’s face changed instantly as Zhao Ping directly addressed Song Xiaodong as Instructor!

Zhao Ping was not yet thirty this year. Normally, he wouldn’t hold such a high position locally, but he was the captain of the special police team due to his high military rank, apparently transitioning from a battalion-level post.

If Song Xiaodong was Zhao Ping’s instructor, it ant Song Xiaodong must be at least at regint-level.

A regint-level military official isn’t enough to contend with him as a Deputy Mayor, but if he’s at a higher level, that’s another story. He had underestimated Song Xiaodong before, so now he could no longer employ his original approach to handle this issue.

Song Xiaodong nodded and said, “You’re not bad.”

“Thank you for the complint, Instructor.” Zhao Ping grinned, then asked, “Instructor, what’s really going on here?”

Song Xiaodong glanced at Li Fangding from afar, calmly saying, “We were both involved in a plane crash, drifted at sea, and they claid the best survival spots, causing over ten deaths. Later, they wanted us to keep it quiet, which I refused. Also, this flight attendant wanted to speak the truth, so she was brought here.”

“What?” Zhao Ping’s face changed significantly. He knew about Li Fangding’s plane crash incident due to the extensive publicity, but he never expected such hidden truths.

“Instructor! You’re saying…” Zhao Ping shouted and looked at Song Xiaodong.

“I want justice for the deceased, and fairness for this flight attendant forced into a psychiatric institution.”

Song Xiaodong’s tone was calm but exceptionally resolute.

He glanced at Zhao Ping and said, “You can choose to stay out of this and not get involved.”

Zhao Ping took a deep breath and said, “No! I must get involved. I joined the army to protect the nation, and I beca a special police officer to ensure local safety. Even if it costs everything, I’ll stand with the Instructor.”

Song Xiaodong smiled faintly and said, “Well said, I didn’t misjudge you.”

Zhao Ping clenched his fist and then said, “Then what do you plan to do, Instructor? We can’t just directly take him down, right?”

“Don’t worry, I want justice. If we just took him down, it wouldn’t bring closure to those who unjustly died.”

Zhao Ping breathed a sigh of relief and said, “Alright! Then I’ll follow your lead.” But he was sowhat skeptical; Li Fangding was a Deputy Mayor in Jinhua and wielded significant power. How could Song Xiaodong bring down Li Fangding?

Skeptical yet expectant, Zhao Ping eagerly awaited seeing Song Xiaodong’s prowess again, not just in the military but locally.

Li Fangding hesitated briefly before walking directly to Song Xiaodong, laughing and saying, “Mr. Song, we et again! Shouldn’t we have a good talk?”

Song Xiaodong looked at Li Fangding, sneering, “We have nothing to talk about.”

Li Fangding’s smile froze, saying, “Mr. Song, why make it a do-or-die situation?”

Song Xiaodong stared into Li Fangding’s eyes, slowly saying, “You’re the fish, destined to die. I’m the net, unbreakable.”
