148: Chapter 148: Steal a Kiss

“Mr.

Song, I’m sorry.

I really can’t accept undeserved rewards, so I ended up ntioning you,” Liu Yajun ca in front of Song Xiaodong with the deanor of a schoolkid admitting a mistake.

Song Xiaodong had originally been disappointed when Liu Yajun revealed his involvent, but upon hearing his words, his impression of Liu Yajun greatly improved.

Talents like Liu Yajun were truly rare; nowadays, so many people would do anything for fa and profit.

Now that these were offered to him and he had refused, it sufficiently showed that his dical ethics were solid.

Patting Liu Yajun on the shoulder, Song Xiaodong smiled slightly and said, “No problem, you’ve done well.”

Those simple words, “you’ve done well,” made Liu Yajun feel as if he had received countless honors.

His face turned red, and he stamred, “Mr.

Song…

thank you, thank you for not blaming .”

Song Xiaodong smiled again and said, “I also didn’t think everything through.

You should get in touch with Old He more in the future.”

“Yes, yes!” Liu Yajun was even more delighted to hear this, as it was a clear recognition of his worth.

Liu Yajun stepped aside, still beaming, and winked at He Wenbai, saying, “Looks like we might beco fellow disciples, huh?”

He Wenbai chuckled lightly and said, “I doubt it, since you haven’t studied Traditional Chinese dicine before.”

“Heh, but you’re my senior brother, you have to teach your junior brother here,” Liu Yajun said shalessly while trying to butter up He Wenbai.

He Wenbai was quite amused.

Knowing that Liu Yajun’s status in their profession was even higher than his, he tilted his chin up and joked, “Then you better start sucking up to

properly.”

What are officials most afraid of?

One is work-related issues and being investigated, but what they fear most about themselves is undoubtedly their health.

Everyone hopes for a healthy body, and the wealthier and more powerful they are, the more they focus on maintaining good health.

Therefore, these people all look to befriend doctors, especially those with excellent dical skills, as they value them greatly.

Doctors as skilled as He Wenbai and Liu Yajun are precisely the type of people they want to connect with, and both doctors have quite the temperant.

Normally, even if these officials sought them out, they wouldn’t receive any special treatnt.

Now, seeing them treat Song Xiaodong, a younger man, with such deference, it naturally shocked them, and upon witnessing their admiration for Song Xiaodong, they couldn’t help but believe in his dical skill despite his young age.

Therefore, instead of chasing after the patient, they crowded around Song Xiaodong, each handing over their business cards, trying to befriend him.

Accepting the business cards politely, Song Xiaodong, when asked for his own business card, straightforwardly said, “I don’t have any.

If you need , contact Vice President He, he’ll let

know if there’s anything.

I have to go now.”

The crowd wanted to follow him, but He Wenbai imdiately stopped them, including Shen Yue.

He Wenbai said, “Ladies and gentlen, Mr.

Song has just perford a very taxing surgery.

He urgently needs to rest now, so please don’t disturb him.”

Soone imdiately asked, “Vice President He, can you give us Mr.

Song’s phone number?”

He Wenbai shook his head and said, “I’m sorry, but Mr.

Song doesn’t treat common illnesses.

Unless it’s a serious or critical condition, I’d ask everyone to please not disturb him.

Furthermore, even if Mr.

Song decides to act, it depends on the situation.

Even for serious or critical illnesses, it’s not certain that he’ll intervene.”

The more He Wenbai said this, the more these officials beca eager.

As the saying goes, scarcity makes sothing more precious.

The more soone refuses to act, it demonstrates their capability and signifies a higher level of dical skill.

Yet, Mr.

Song had no intention of associating with them, and they could only treat He Wenbai as Mr.

Song Xiaodong’s spokesperson.

As a result, Vice President He’s social status shot up imnsely.

Song Xiaodong wasn’t paying attention to these things and was led directly by Lin Su’er to Vice President He’s office, a place where he could rest without being disturbed.

There was a small suite within He Wenbai’s office, complete with a bed.

Once inside, Song Xiaodong lay down imdiately.

The surgery he had just perford was no minor procedure; it had taken a great toll on him.

Even though he had rested for a bit earlier, he had only recovered sowhat and was still very tired.

“Brother Dongzi, do you want so water?” Lin Su’er asked sweetly.

“Get

a cup, I am actually quite thirsty,” Song Xiaodong nodded.

Lin Su’er imdiately went to fetch a cup of water, placed it on the nightstand, then sat by the bed and helped Song Xiaodong sit up.

Song Xiaodong laughed, “I’m not that weak yet.”

“You are still very tired.

You were sweating so much just now.

You should rest well now.

I’ll take care of you.

I am a nurse, after all; caring for people is my forte.” Without allowing for argunt, she helped Song Xiaodong sit up and let him lean against her body.

Song Xiaodong could feel his back pressed against sothing soft and quickly leaned forward.

Clearly aware of what part of her body Song Xiaodong had touched, Lin Su’er’s cheeks turned red.

However, she still firmly held onto his shoulders and had him lean back, saying, “I’m a nurse, so don’t be so self-conscious.

Here’s your water.”

Song Xiaodong felt a bit awkward, but didn’t struggle, fearing it might embarrass Lin Su’er even more.

He drank the water in one go and said, “All right, let

lie down for a while.”

Lin Su’er then slowly helped Song Xiaodong to lie back down and sat beside him.

Song Xiaodong said, “I’ll be fine after a little sleep, you can go about your work, right?”

Lin Su’er replied sweetly, “It’s fine.

My job today is to take care of you.

Just sleep, and I will be here with you.

If you need anything, I can help you at any ti.”

Seeing that Lin Su’er was adamant, Song Xiaodong shook his head, smiled, and no longer refused.

He closed his eyes and soon entered a state of deep sleep, which was also the best way to recover his True Qi.

Lin Su’er sat by Song Xiaodong, her gaze fixed on him.

Song Xiaodong’s face wasn’t like the handso features of film stars; yet it was chiseled and distinctly masculine.

The more Lin Su’er watched Song Xiaodong’s face, the more entranced she beca, the more she liked it, and the itchier her heart felt.

Biting her lip, Lin Su’er slowly bent down, her head getting closer to Song Xiaodong’s face, and gently kissed his cheek.

Then she sat up as quickly as lightning, her face as red as a ripe apple, but her eyes sparkled with indescribable excitent and pride.

I’ve finished writing the fifth installnt, and I’m exhausted.

Thanks to my brother “KaiXinYiXiao” for the reward, and also thanks to everyone who voted.

I hope those who haven’t will continue to cast their votes.
