Chapter 796: Chapter 785: Mutual Use

Song Yun had been a student, a rcenary, and an assassin in his life, but he had truly never attended any annual etings. Students don’t have annual etings, right? rcenaries don’t have annual etings, right? As for assassins, they definitely didn’t have annual etings either. You can’t just call a bunch of assassins together, kill so people and then consider it celebrating the New Year, can you?

The TV station’s annual eting was clearly much more impressive than those so-called corporate annual etings, at least their hosts were professionals, and the perforrs on stage were also professionals.

Lin Jia started on stage with a passionate opening speech, which was nothing more than looking back at the past, examining the present, and speaking about what the future holds, but Song Yun wasn’t really interested in this kind of formulaic stuff. He was more curious about how Lin Jia managed to squeeze the upper part of her B-sized bust into a D cup.

Directly opposite the stage was table one, where people whom Song Yun didn’t recognize were sitting. The main executives of the Radio and Television Bureau hadn’t co, and it was said that a deputy director had co, along with several officials from related departnts, one of whom Song Yun recognized, that was Lin Jia’s father, the head of the Inspection Departnt in Sunan City, Lin Heping.

Song Yun had seen Lin Heping before but had never interacted with him. Although Lin Heping had been involved in the previous issue, it was mainly the provincial authorities who had exerted effort, and Lin Heping had given Song Yun a lot of face in dealing with the Totem Company.

This gave Song Yun a pretty good overall impression of Lin Heping. At this mont, Lin Heping was sitting next to the station manager as a guest. Coming from the Inspection Departnt and being a higher official, it was quite impressive. Moreover, Lin Heping’s rank was comparable to the station manager, so at that table, Lin Heping’s position could be considered the second most prestigious, with the first being the deputy director of the provincial Radio and Television Bureau, whose rank was generally higher than those in the city.

Lin Heping had a very refined appearance, his hair parted neatly, and he wore a pair of gold-rimd glasses on his nose. His deanor was not frivolous, which wouldn’t make people feel uncomfortable, but it also didn’t encourage much closeness, and he generally only spoke when soone next to him asked him sothing.

People from the Inspection Departnt were generally like this; the nature of their work ant they couldn’t be too lively, and they couldn’t talk too much.

As if sensing Song Yun’s gaze, Lin Heping turned his head and looked towards Song Yun, then unexpectedly flashed Song Yun a smile.

Since Song Yun had seen him, Lin Heping hadn’t smiled! Song Yun was surprised, but he also nodded at Lin Heping.

After finishing her opening speech, Lin Jia stepped down, and then various personnel from the TV station went up to perform. There were singers, dancers, and even acts like blowing hot water bags and breaking stones with their chests—all the performances were quite professional, as many people in the TV station were either talented in singing and dancing or were graduates of art colleges.

After stepping down from the stage, Lin Jia first went to table one, chatted with Lin Heping and the high-level executive from the provincial Radio and Television Bureau for a while, toasted with a small glass of drink, and then went to the second table to have drinks with so higher-ups from the station before finally arriving at Song Yun’s table.

“Song Yun, my dad is asking if you want to co over and sit with them?” Lin Jia asked.

“Forget it, I’m not comfortable hanging out with old people; there’s no excitent,” Song Yun said, laughing as he refused.

“Who are you calling old? My dad isn’t even fifty yet, don’t talk like that!” Lin Jia complained while sitting next to Song Yun in the place initially marked as large C.

“By the way, Song Yun, could you co over to my dad’s table and offer a toast later?” Lin Jia whispered.

“Oh?

giving a toast?” Song Yun asked, smiling slightly.

“I know you have a high status, but do it for , and for my dad too. Wouldn’t it bring great honor to my dad if you did?” Lin Jia said.

“All right then,” Song Yun nodded, saying, “But you have to give

a perk.”

“What perk?” Lin Jia asked.

“How about we go sowhere private later to talk about life? If you agree, I’ll go and offer the toast,” Song Yun said with a mischievous grin.

“Deal!” Unexpectedly, Lin Jia agreed! “After this act finishes there will be a break, we can go then, but I must clarify, you can’t do anything indecent to ! We can only chat!”

Although she said this, there was a teasing hint in Lin Jia’s eyes.

Song Yun was still wondering why Lin Jia was so bold, and then he thought, if he left with this woman later, who knows how many people would see them, and if they ca back with Lin Jia flushed and panting, who knows how many would guess what they had done! Such a scenario would an, in the eyes of the masses who didn’t know the truth, that Lin Jia and he were in cahoots!

Well, isn’t this the old trick of borrowing power from the tiger? Never thought Lin Jia knew how to play this card too!

Song Yun smiled faintly. Since she wanted to borrow power from the tiger, he didn’t mind since it would an he could have so fun, and it could also establish a closer connection between them. Mutually beneficial, why not?

Lin Yu watched from the side, wanting to say sothing but unable to find the words. Song Yun was nicer to her than to Lin Jia, which was for certain; otherwise, Song Yun wouldn’t have sided with her just now. But Lin Jia was way wilder than Lin Yu! After all, who doesn’t like a woman who knows how to have fun? Have a good ti and then walk away with no strings attached, isn’t that delightful? Watching Lin Jia openly flirting with Song Yun right in front of her, Lin Yu felt she had to respond, but could she behave as boldly and provocatively as Lin Jia? Lin Yu still had so psychological barriers.

In her mont of hesitation, Lin Jia had linked arms with Song Yun and left the table.

“Yu, it feels like both you and Jiajia are in so unclear relationship with this Song Yun!” Su Ge whispered, “Don’t tell

it’s a love triangle? Or are the two of you sharing one husband?”

“It’s you who’s sharing one husband! I knew Song Yun first, and we’re good friends. Lin Jia ca later, and her relationship with Song Yun, well, they just use each other,” Lin Yu said, imdiately regretting her words as soon as they left her mouth. Nowadays, who talked about this kind of stuff blatantly? Needless to say, Lin Jia taking away Song Yun had entirely disoriented Lin Yu.

Su Ge’s eyes widened with gossip as he looked at Lin Yu and asked, “How are they using each other? Is it so kind of trade of body for career advancent?”

“Ugh, go tell that to the Vice Director. I rember you had so unclear affiliations with the Vice Director,” Lin Yu snapped back.

“Hehe, the Vice Director is my sugar daddy,” Su Ge said, blushing with embarrassnt.

“Sugar daddy? You an that ‘sugar’ is pronounced with the fourth tone, right?” Lin Yu huffed, but she didn’t say this out loud. Instead, she gazed intently at Song Yun from a distance, wondering what might be on his mind.
