Chapter 780: Chapter 769: You’re Dood
Song Yun had no idea he was already being targeted as he returned to the private room, resuming drinking, eating, and chatting.
“Actually, I am more than happy that my little girl is with you!” Mr. Li said with a laugh, “After all, I was the one who brought you two together. Not to ntion you two had a childhood betrothal, but also from the first ti I saw you, I found you very agreeable. You are a genuine person and treat my Shishi well. However, my biggest worry is Shishi’s unruly nature. Although the Li Family is also a big family, no one in the Li Family dares to bully Shishi. What if soone bullies her when she goes to Beijing?”
“I’m here, no one can bully Shishi,” Song Yun replied, “Regarding our lifestyle, I’m also not accustod to living like that, constantly in cutthroat competition, with family mbers lacking real affection. Our main reason for going back this ti is to pay homage to our ancestors and enter our family registry. Once that’s done, I’ll mostly leave Beijing. It’s fine if my parents stay with our family there, I won’t have much to do!”
“That’s good, that’s good! Co on, let’s drink another!” Mr. Li bead and shared another shot of high-proof spirits with Song Yun, which made Song Yun’s head slightly dizzy. anwhile, Song Ergou was slinging his arm around Li Shanghe, bonding as buddies, and Ye Qingsi was whispering sothing to Shishi, with Shishi nodding constantly, her face occasionally flushing with embarrassnt.
Amidst this harmonious atmosphere, a knock sounded on the door of the private room. The waiter at the door hadn’t even opened it when soone pushed it open from outside.
Song Yun furrowed his brow slightly; pushing open a private room door like that was quite rude!
A few n walked in from outside, and Song Yun could tell from a glance that they were trained, likely ex-military—sothing easy to observe for soone who had studied at the Hunter School with many retired special forces from the United States and Shen Zhou, everyone walking with ramrod straight backs and steady steps.
While Song Yun was assessing the newcors, one of the n with a crew-cut looked around the private room, then pointed excitedly at Song Yun and said, “Brother Niu, it’s that guy!”
The burly, dark-skinned man nodded, approached Song Yun with a sullen face, and asked, “Was it you who kicked my friend just now?”
Song Yun, surprised, glanced at the crew-cut man, Ah Mao, and then back at the burly man, Brother Niu, before replying after a pause, “I only gave him a couple of kicks, yet you all made such a big deal to find
here!”
“Oh? So you admit you hit my brother, huh?” Brother Niu asked, narrowing his eyes.
Song Yun nodded and said with a smile, “He bumped into
and then cursed . How am I supposed to get by in society if I don’t hit back?”
“That’ll do.” Brother Niu nodded, not saying much more, but quickly grabbed the bottle of wine from the table and swung it at Song Yun’s head.
Such a move genuinely surprised Song Yun. The saying that fights start without words often applied in a different era with different social norms. Especially when mature, everyone has reservations—maybe the punch might kill soone?
Right now wasn’t like when they were minors; killing soone ant facing the firing squad, or the attack could bring Liu Gang, Song Gang, and Chen Gang into the fray, then wouldn’t one be terribly beaten up?
This is why kids are often seen fighting more than adults, showing a sign of gradually maturing.
To put it simply, the older one gets, the more fearful one becos.
Brother Niu was notably quick and ruthless in his attack, aiming straight for Song Yun’s head, while his companions rushed forward, waiting for Brother Niu to knock Song Yun down so they could join in beating him down— a usual tactic in fights. Usually, a strong individual takes down the opponent first, followed by a group beating. The importance of that first strike is old knowledge; making the first successful hit is always the tough part.
The opponents were quick and decisive, but Song Yun was not slow either. As a forr top-notch fighter, Song Yun had never been a coward in fights. Even though his strength was not what it used to be, only slightly better than an ordinary person, his skills and instincts were still intact!
With a swift sidestep, Song Yun dodged the incoming bottle and then kicked Brother Niu in the abdon.
The kick was just as swift and fierce, catching Brother Niu off-guard and forcing him to double over in pain.
As ntioned earlier, getting a good start in anything is difficult, and Song Yun effectively took Brother Niu down with his initial move, followed by another kick to his head. Brother Niu fell backward, hitting the ground. Song Yun imdiately stood up from his chair and landed several more kicks on Brother Niu, lacking any finesse of a martial artist.
Yet, each kick was a classic, street brawl technique—every soul-crushing impact hit flesh, and the robust Brother Niu could only roll on the floor, trying to dodge Song Yun’s assault. The companions who had initially rushed forward were taken aback by Song Yun’s prowess, which led to their hesitation and resulted in Brother Niu receiving a few more harsh kicks.
“Song Yun, stop,” Li Shanghe, seeing his future son-in-law fighting without rcy, couldn’t help but intervene to advise, “Don’t resort to violence for everything, let’s talk it out!”
“Alright then,” Song Yun ceased his relentless kicks, pulled up a chair, and sat down, preparing to say sothing to the others when they suddenly charged at him.
“Damn, trying to show so manners in front of my future father-in-law, and you guys really don’t let
save face,” Song Yun said exasperatedly, glancing at his dad.
Song Ergou grinned and quickly stepped in front of Song Yun, using a few simple grappling moves and shoves, downing the impressive-looking group.
Song Ergou executed a neat finishing move and turned to the crowd with a smile, “These guys really spoil our drinking mood. I couldn’t help myself…”
“It’s okay, it’s okay,” Li Shanghe felt sowhat embarrassed. To him, with decades of experience, those moves by Song Ergou seed simple yet were incredibly refined.
“Who are you people!” Mr. Li finally spoke up, his years in a high position lent him an aura not easily matched by ordinary people.
“You’re done for, done for!” Ah Mao, the crew-cut man, didn’t rush forward and thus remained unhard, standing but his face was pale. His hand trembled as he pointed at Song Ergou and Song Yun.
“Just leave,” Song Ergou said haughtily, hands clasped behind his back, the epito of a master’s deanor, while Song Yun was at a loss for words, his dad seemingly enjoyed showing off just like him.
Brother Niu had a strong resilience; even as Song Ergou struck a pose, he managed to stand back up, then stepped back, his face twisted maliciously as he looked at Song Yun and Song Ergou, uttering, “You… are done for!”
