703: Chapter 692: Washed Away

“Let’s go, let’s go!” Seeing Song Yun’s uncertain expression, Li Shishi, afraid that Song Yun might change his mind, grabbed his hand and pulled him deeper into the cave.

Song Yun thought for a mont; it was just a hundred ters.

It probably wouldn’t be dangerous, so he cald down, hurried a few steps ahead of Li Shishi, then took out his cellphone equipped with a high-power flashlight from his pocket and turned it on.

The flashlight was quite powerful.

After walking about twenty ters, the surroundings visibly darkened.

Song Yun suddenly stopped, then dug into his jacket pocket and pulled out a bundle of thin rope.

“What is this for?” Li Shishi asked curiously.

“It’s for saving our lives in critical monts,” Song Yun explained as he unraveled the rope and tied it to a huge stone pillar.

After securing one end around his waist, he said, “All set.

Let’s go.”

“Wow, you look so professional!

But, Song Yun, is this thing reliable?” Li Shishi tugged at the rope and asked.

“The two of us could hang from it and it wouldn’t break.

It’s professional equipnt,” Song Yun boasted, continuing further into the cave.

The cave’s entrance was quite large, but as they proceeded, the path inside beca very narrow, and even began to get narrower.

About fifty ters in, the path was only wide enough for two people to walk abreast.

“We’ve already gone about fifty ters and haven’t encountered any traps or anything.

Let’s go another fifty ters then head back,” Song Yun said as he turned around a corner.

After rounding the bend, he suddenly found himself staring at a huge pit.

The pit was enormous, so much so that Song Yun couldn’t estimate its size, mainly because he only had his flashlight and no other light source.

“It seems there’s nothing to see here,” Song Yun remarked, grabbing Li Shishi’s hand.

“Ah, what a pity!

I thought there might be so treasure or adventure,” Li Shishi said disappointedly, stepping forward into the pit with Song Yun following.

“Wow, it really is huge!” Li Shishi exclaid as she looked up at the pit’s top, illuminated by Song Yun’s flashlight, which seed to be over ten ters high, a rarity in a cave.

The ceiling of the pit was naturally ford with stalactites, and about a hundred ters ahead, there were several small tunnels, their destinations unknown.

“This place would be quite sothing if it were developed!” Song Yun remarked, observing the stalactites.

The cave must have a very long history, judging by the long stalactites.

“Yeah, look here, there’s even sand!” Li Shishi crouched down, scraping at the ground, then stretched her hand out to Song Yun.

“Sand?” Song Yun was surprised.

Normally, pits like this contain either rock or clay — sand shouldn’t be there.

Where did this sand co from?

Just then, a thunderous booming sound, similar to thunder, erupted nearby.

Li Shishi exclaid in astonishnt, “Thunder during a winter rain?”

“Damn!” Song Yun’s face turned pale as he finally realized why there was sand here!

“This place is an underground river!” Song Yun shouted, rushing in front of Li Shishi and scooping her up.

However, the rumbling that had sounded distant only a second ago now echoed throughout the entire pit.

“Damn it!” Song Yun helplessly watched as a massive flood surged towards them, less than ten ters away.

He tightly hugged Li Shishi and turned his back toward the torrent.

Accompanied by Li Shishi’s screams, Song Yun and Li Shishi were swept away by the trendous flood.

In less than half a minute, the flood receded, and the pit returned to the state it was in before Song Yun arrived.

However, Song Yun and Li Shishi had vanished.

Shifting the focus to the second peak.

Near the summit, Zhou Guang and others also stopped, as they too had encountered a cave.

This cave appeared much smaller than the one Song Yun entered.

Yamamoto Goro closely examined the map, then looked at the cave, excitedly proclaiming, “This is it, this is the place!”

“Then let’s go in,” Ghost King said, leading the way.

Divine Calculator, however, said, “Wait a mont.”

“What?” Ghost King asked, displeasingly.

“Nobody knows what the situation is inside the cave.

We still need to take precautions!” Divine Calculator spoke while pulling out various items from his bag, including oxygen tanks, safety helts, and other tools, thoroughly equipped for safety.

After everyone was properly geared up, they proceeded into the cave.

“In this cave, there are many branching paths.

Rember to follow

closely!” Yamamoto Goro instructed.

“Also, it’s raining heavily now; be careful of the underground rivers.”

“Understood,” Zhou Guang nodded.

He did not want to cause any trouble at this mont and obediently followed.

Directed by the map, the group moved quickly through the cave.

They occasionally encountered forks in the path but always followed Yamamoto Goro’s directions.

After about half an hour, they had ventured deep into the cave.

anwhile, elsewhere.

“Cough, cough, cough.”

In a dim cave, a sudden coughing sound echoed followed by another.

One male, one female.

“Song Yun, where are we?” the female voice trembled slightly.

Then, suddenly, a light flashed on.

“This cellphone is really good,” Song Yun remarked, holding his dostically made phone, reputed to be waterproof.

After checking on Li Shishi, he asked, “Are you hurt?”

“No, just swallowed a bit of water,” Li Shishi coughed a few tis and said.

“Song Yun, take a look, where are we now?”

“How would I know?” Song Yun scanned their surroundings.

Not far in front of him was a large pool of water, and judging by what had just happened, he guessed they had probably been washed here by the underground river!

Song Yun felt lucky his body was extraordinary; a normal person hit by such a fierce torrent would have been knocked unconscious, but he, despite the pain, had remained conscious.

Otherwise, he would have drowned alongside Li Shishi.
