Chapter 1636: Chapter 1530: Parting on Bad Terms

"You’re here."

The Marquis’s voice carried a hint of laziness, his eyes slightly narrowed as he looked at Song Yun.

Song Yun nodded, walked over to a single-seater sofa opposite the Marquis, sat down, crossed his legs, placed his hands on the arms of the sofa, and looked at the Marquis, asking, "So, what do you want to talk about?"

"Oh, don’t be so stiff. How about a drink first?" the Marquis asked.

"Whatever." Song Yun shrugged indifferently.

The Marquis snapped his fingers at a waiter standing by and said, "Blue Enchantress."

The waiter nodded and turned to leave the cabin.

"Alright, you can start with the business now," Song Yun said.

"Actually, there’s no real business," the Marquis placed the glass on the table in front of him and then said, "I just missed you."

"I don’t miss you," Song Yun said.

"Oh, don’t play coy," the Marquis teased, "If you miss , just say so."

Song Yun crossed his arms, looking coldly at the Marquis.

"You look at

like that, it makes

embarrassed," the Marquis said shyly.

"Alright, Marquis, your ti might not be valuable, but mine is," Song Yun said, "If there’s nothing important, we can et again another ti."

"Oh, you’re so heartless. How long has it been since we’ve seen each other? Why do we have to talk business right away? Can’t we just talk about love? Even if you don’t love , you can’t stop

from loving you, can you?" The Marquis observed Song Yun’s expression darkening and quickly changed his tone, "I heard you’ve been quite busy lately? Lots of work?"

"You’re busy all the ti, why can’t I be?" Song Yun asked.

"Of course, of course you can," said the Marquis, "Actually, we could make a deal."

"Oh? What kind of deal?" Song Yun asked.

"You help

find sothing, and I’ll help you deal with the Li Family and Song Kunlun, how about that?"

"Sothing? What kind of sothing? Is there anything in this world that you can’t get?" Song Yun raised an eyebrow sarcastically, but he was quite curious about what the Marquis was talking about.

"A piece of tortoiseshell with lines drawn on it. It may not be worth much to you, but if you make this deal with , you’ll definitely profit."

"Tortoiseshell? Haha, I’m sorry, I don’t know what you’re talking about. If it’s dicine, how about I buy you two pieces from the pharmacy another day?"

"You, you, always like this," the Marquis shook his head helplessly, "We all know what’s going on here, but you just won’t admit it. What’s the point?"

"I really don’t know, what do you want

to admit to?" Song Yun responded.

"It seems my offer isn’t attractive enough for you," the Marquis said, frowning, "What do you want? Tell , we can negotiate."

"I don’t have what you’re talking about, so what is there to discuss?" Song Yun asked.

"If you can give

that box, I’ll let you be an associate mber of our family! You’ll have endless resources from around the world," the Marquis said seriously.

Song Yun’s expression froze for a mont, then quickly returned to normal, saying, "I’m a mber of the Song Family, a lifelong mber of the Song Family. Your family may be great abroad, but in our country, you’re not necessarily better than us. I have the status of an heir to the Song Family, why would I need to be an associate mber of your family?"

"You’re just deceiving yourself," the Marquis laughed, "If you could beco our associate mber, it would be a great developnt opportunity for both you and the Song Family. Aren’t you having issues with Song Kunlun? Once you beco our associate mber, our family mbers in Russia will help you put pressure on Song Kunlun from the north, while you attack from the bottom up. Even if you can’t take down Song Kunlun, it will be enough to keep him in check."

Song Yun squinted slightly and said, "Song Kunlun is a Song Family mber, and for us Song Family mbers, even if there are issues, they’re internal issues. It’s better for outsiders not to get involved."

"You Shen Zhou people are so stubborn," the Marquis shook his head helplessly, "Internal, external conflicts, as long as they’re resolved, they won’t be conflicts, right?"

"You don’t understand," Song Yun shook his head, stood up, and said, "If you have nothing else, I’m leaving."

"Think it over, dear Song Yun," the Marquis said gently, "All I want is a piece of tortoiseshell you don’t need."

"I don’t know what you’re talking about," Song Yun said word by word. "Even if you gave

your entire family, if I don’t have it, then I don’t have it."

"Alright then, since that’s the case, there’s nothing I can do," the Marquis said. "Dear Song Yun, don’t bla

if I trip you up soday."

"I’ve never been afraid of people trying to trip

up," Song Yun said. "If you dare, go ahead. But whoever trips

up should be ready to stay down for life."

"I’m always ready to lie down with you," the Marquis said.

Song Yun decisively turned and left the cabin.

"What an unpleasant conversation," the Marquis said, taking a sip of the Bloody Mary on the table and savoring the burning sensation from his throat to his stomach, then slightly closed his eyes.

After leaving the cabin, Song Yun didn’t linger on the yacht but went straight off the yacht and into a waiting car.

"Phew."

Song Yun rubbed his temples, calming the turmoil in his heart.

Although he refused the Marquis’s deal, the Marquis’s offer was indeed significant. The resources he could get as an associate mber of their family would be endless, and it would be easy to deal with Song Kunlun in the future.

However... Song Yun wouldn’t trade. He knew what that tortoiseshell represented. If he casually gave it to others, then one day his country might fall behind, and falling behind ans being beaten.

"Sigh, it’s even more complicated now," Song Yun originally thought everyone was in a developnt phase and could be more peaceful.

However, the Marquis’s sudden interference made things even more complicated.

Chances are, the Marquis already knows he has the tortoiseshell, and given the Marquis’s nature, if Song Yun doesn’t agree to the deal, he will definitely try to trip him up, just as he said. And Song Yun would have no way of knowing where or when the Marquis would strike. If he strikes at the climax of a conflict, it could wipe out all of Song Yun’s arrangents.
