Chapter 1032: Chapter 1020: True Charity

The tractors were all parked in an open space.

In front of the open space was a two-story building.

This is the village’s primary school, built on the most level area of the mountain near the village. It was constructed with donations from so previous charitable organizations. According to the old village chief, this is the most majestic building in the village.

Looking at the cent building, which was already very old and mostly peeling, Song Yun’s heart inexplicably grew heavier.

According to the plan, the donation ceremony would be held on the playground of this primary school because it’s the only building in the village deed suitable for television and also the only one that can accommodate a relatively large crowd.

“Where is your clinic?” Song Yun asked.

“It’s right next to this school. I’ll take you there later,” Yu Yao said while helping to unload things from the car.

Song Yun also quickly stepped forward to help unload things, while others from the city looked for places to rest.

Song Yun didn’t expect these unsteady-footed people to be of much help; there were only six or seven people assisting with unloading, and the speed was quite quick.

A number of children stood beside the tractors, the youngest about six or seven years old and the older ones in their teens. However, no matter their size, they all had one thing in common: dark skin and slender fras.

So were wearing clothes so dirty that you couldn’t discern their original color, all covered in dust, and many wore shoes so tattered you could see their toes.

So of them had runny noses and curiously watched Song Yun and the others unloading items from the vehicles, while slightly older ones stepped forward to help.

Song Yun handed a box to a boy who looked about fifteen or sixteen, and he could see clearly that the boy’s hands were full of grey dust and nurous cracks.

Though spring had arrived, it was still very cold in these mountain valleys. Coupled with the dry air, it hadn’t rained for days, and many people’s skin was cracked from the dryness.

“Does it hurt?” Song Yun asked the boy efficiently moving things.

“No, it doesn’t hurt,” the boy replied in slightly awkward Mandarin, “Why would it hurt?”

Song Yun was taken aback for a mont but then understood what the boy ant. This kind of small wound was probably as common as eating and drinking to the people here, much like a small cut by a knife we might get as kids without much thought, whereas a person who has never had such an injury might find it unbearably painful.

Once any kind of wound occurs frequently enough, one eventually becos accustod to it.

Soon, all the items were completely unloaded from the tractors.

A lot of people from the village ca upon hearing the news, many coming from far away. Due to the unique geographical environnt, the villages here couldn’t resemble those south of Shen Zhou with family hos in relatively concentrated areas. Here, many hos are separated by several kiloters, and visiting neighbors could take an entire day.

Those who ca bore faces of curiosity, mostly won and so older-looking n.

Many young n had gone out to work.

The crew responsible for filming the docuntary were also diligently setting up their equipnt to start filming.

This ti, Song Yun didn’t have banners made, nor invited any leaders, simply placing several tables and chairs in the middle of the playground to start distributing items.

First, of course, were learning supplies for the students. Each person received so study tools, followed by other donated daily necessities like generators and flashlights.

Things that seed useless in big cities were genuinely functional here in Xiangyang Village. Sending a hundred computers to a place like this would be a waste since the presence of electricity to power these computers is a significant problem.

Afterward, lots of drinking water, instant noodles, and milk were distributed according to demand, most of which were donated to the school and subsequently distributed daily per person per amount.

Everyone who ca to collect items wore expressions of curiosity and gratitude, with no signs of chaos.

Mo Yuyao was in charge of distributing the items, and Song Yun handed them to her.

“Auntie, this is for applying on your skin to repel mosquitoes. You can use it in sumr!” Mo Yuyao said with a smile, placing a bottle of floral water into an old granny’s hand.

“Got it, got it, thank you, Yuyao!” The granny looked quite aged, smiling broadly as she took the floral water and so other miscellaneous items from Mo Yuyao’s hands, and said, “Oh, I always said you were our village’s lucky star!”

“Hehe, Auntie, it’s all thanks to this gentleman!” Mo Yuyao pointed to Song Yun.

“Oh, thank you, comrade,” the granny walked to Song Yun’s side, tightly holding his hands, and said, “Thank you for helping us, thank you!”

“Haha, it’s what we’re supposed to do.” Song Yun felt the rough calluses on the old woman’s hands and smiled, “We’re just expressing our goodwill, while Yuyao is the one actually staying here with you, so you should thank Yuyao more!”

Each person who received the items ca up to thank Song Yun and Mo Yuyao, each face filled with rustic and sincere gratitude, slowly easing Song Yun’s tightly wound heart.

Recently, there were actually many things going on for Song Yun.

The infiltration of WZ by force had reached a critical mont, with Song Yun receiving a ssage from Zhao Yan almost every few hours, specifically reporting on the actions of force in WZ. The situation in Zhang Bei was similar; both fronts were slowly beginning to unfold, and although Song Yun was busying himself with sothing seemingly unrelated to it all, he knew whether it was related or not.

The joint statent made with Xuanwu alone made Song Yun’s trip to YN and GZ worthwhile, and everything he did now was also paving the way for the future developnt model of the Phoenix Love Foundation.

Only by genuinely doing these things could Song Yun truly understand what those at the grassroots level need the most, rather than just making empty plans or wild speculations.
