So people court death without even realizing it. Take the Regent King and Wen Zheng, for example.
The Regent King looked toward City Lord Guang, boasting, "What do you think of the talent this king has discovered?"
Wen Zheng, following suit, also looked toward Wu Tian and asked, "And my Fist Technique? How is it?"
City Lord Guang remained silent. To reach such a level of skill in a Fist Technique after only two years of cultivation was sothing he could not do. He was struck speechless.
Wu Tian, however, simply shook his head. "He’s still not as good as my daughter."
"That’s right! Not as good as ! Far from it," the little one in Qin Yuhan’s arms added, clenching her tiny fists with a giggle.
"What? He said you’re not as good as his daughter?" The Regent King burst out laughing.
Wen Zheng did as well, finding the child even more ridiculous. "Such a little kid, spouting such arrogant nonsense."
At the front of the Royal Palace, the royal guards watching this scene couldn’t help but shake their heads. They, too, felt that Wen Zheng was a genuine talent. How could such a person be inferior to a child? It was simply impossible.
"This father-daughter duo certainly loves to joke around."
"Indeed. I’ve watched many fist masters practice, but few have reached Wen Zheng’s level in just two years. His fist technique is so concise and elegant. It seems perfect, without a single flaw. His talent in the Way of the Fist must be considerable!"
But how could the guards dare to speak loudly? They could only whisper among themselves.
Wen Zheng clenched his fists, looking down at them. He had just been demonstrating the Eastern Pearl Fist, a technique said to make one’s fists shine like bright pearls! Although it was only the most basic Yellow Level Martial Arts Technique, it was his Wen family’s hereditary art, refined over generations. Wen Zheng was confident that he was the most outstanding talent the Wen family had seen in ten thousand years. In his hands, and with his Great Ling Cui Feather Body, he would bring the Eastern Pearl Fist to its ultimate potential.
He was so exceptional, yet Wu Tian claid he was inferior to a small child. The child herself had even said he was not as good as her.
What a joke.
"Oh? You think I can’t defeat a little child? Then, shall we have a go?" Wen Zheng said, his eyes darting about as they glead with excitent, intent on embarrassing Wu Tian and the little girl.
City Lord Guang’s brow furrowed, as did those of the guards stationed at the palace. They hadn’t expected Wen Zheng, for all his talent, to be so lacking in virtue. For a grown man to actually pick a fight with a small child was pathetic. How could he be so narrow-minded! Both City Lord Guang and the guards could imagine it clearly: if Wen Zheng were to beco an official, he would surely be a scourge upon the land, no blessing for the nation of Xiuyuan.
Wu Tian, however, just chuckled. "If you’re looking for death, then fine. I’ll have my daughter fight you."
The Wind and Cloud Overbearing Scripture was created by the Empress in the Immortal Emperor Realm. Wu Tian believed in the Empress; she would not fall! As long as the Empress lived, the little one would naturally be under her protection when using the scripture. Even though Wen Zheng’s Realm was higher than the little one’s, it would be useless. The protection of an Immortal Emperor was no trivial matter!
As soon as Wu Tian finished speaking, City Lord Guang imdiately tried to stop him. "You mustn’t!"
The guards were typically cautious and prudent, but as they looked at the little one—so fair-skinned, adorable, and beautiful beyond asure—they couldn’t help but sigh. Several of them couldn’t hold back any longer.
"You can’t let the child fight him!"
"Yes, how could she possibly win?"
"She’s still so young! What if she gets hurt?"
Qin Yuhan was just as anxious and looked nervously at Wu Tian, but he just smiled. "Don’t worry. Trust ."
Trust you? Trusting you could lead to her death, City Lord Guang and the others thought in frustration.
They turned their gaze to the little one in Qin Yuhan’s arms, their only hope now being that she would refuse on her own.
But she didn’t. "No," she said, "I’ll fight him."
The Regent King, an old fox, sensed that sothing about this situation wasn’t quite right. After a mont’s thought, he discreetly took out a token and handed it to Wen Zheng, whispering, "I’ll lend this to you for now."
Wen Zheng’s eyes lit up when he saw the token. He certainly knew what it was! This was a Profound Level Supre Treasure, the Xiuyuan Token! In the royal family of Xiuyuan Country, aside from the Xiuyuan Sword that only the King could possess, this Xiuyuan Token was the most formidable treasure. Once thrown, the token could assu countless forms, its transformations mysterious and unpredictable! Its power was truly boundless.
"This..." City Lord Guang grew anxious. With that token, Wen Zheng would be unbeatable.
"Daughter, I have sothing for you, too." With a flick of his wrist, Wu Tian produced a small flag. It was one chi and seven cun long, its color a profound Xuan-yellow that looked anything but ordinary.
This was one of the five directional flags Wu Tian had received from the inheritance of the Heavenly Gods and Buddhas—the Wu Ji Xing Huang Flag!
"Okay." The little one took the Wu Ji Xing Huang Flag and signaled for Qin Yuhan to put her down. She was ready to face Wen Zheng.
Wen Zheng looked at the child but said nothing more. In his eyes, children and adults were all the sa. He only cared about personal gain! Anyone who stood in his path had to die, regardless of whether they were old or young!
Without another word, Wen Zheng made his move. "Eastern Pearl Fist!"
His figure shot toward the little one. His fist surged with Spiritual Power that glowed brightly as he brutally aid it down at her head. To use such a vicious attack against a small child proved that Wen Zheng was no kind soul.
Before the fist arrived, the force of the punch alone blew back the bangs from the little one’s cute face, revealing her large, adorable, ink-black eyes. They twinkled playfully just before her own fist shot out to et his. Visually, Wen Zheng’s fist was clearly superior.
However, when their fists collided with a resounding BOOM, it was Wen Zheng who went pale. A muffled grunt escaped his lips as he staggered backward, finally losing his footing and falling flat on his back.
An utter humiliation!
Silence descended upon the area before the Royal Palace. No one had expected such an outco.
The Regent King took a mont to recover before shouting, "What are you waiting for? Use it!"
Wen Zheng’s eyes flashed with understanding. He imdiately took out the Xiuyuan Token. "Behold this Supre Treasure!" he roared, throwing the token with all his might.
City Lord Guang and the guards were furious. How could Wen Zheng be so shaless? To use a Supre Treasure against a little girl he couldn’t beat? Did he have no dignity?
The Xiuyuan Token shot forth, whistling through the air with a piercing shriek. Charged with potent vital energy, it hurtled toward the little one. Judging by its montum, a direct hit would undoubtedly be fatal. It was also obvious that Wen Zheng was not holding back in the slightest.
With a huff, the little one was no longer pleased. She raised the Wu Ji Xing Huang Flag, and an extraordinary phenonon occurred: Myriad Golden Lotuses burst forth. The Xiuyuan Token imdiately fell to the ground, its power gone. The ability of the Wu Ji Xing Huang Flag was to summon Myriad Golden Lotuses, rendering it unbreakable, repelling all evil, and making it immune to all laws.
"No! No! No!" Unable to bear the blow, Wen Zheng howled madly, as if he had lost his mind. He couldn’t believe it. He had actually lost to a child?
