Chapter 78: Chapter 78: Disobey, Spank the Butt
When the president was lecturing, who dared not to listen?
This kind of pep talk wasn’t just for corporations; it was common in classrooms and governnt etings too. Speeches about what would happen if you worked hard and what would happen if you didn’t... Wu Tian felt he had heard more than enough of it in his lifeti.
The Qin Corporation was one of the top four companies in Yang City. However, the Kuangte Family’s representative had co to Yang City first, and they would certainly visit other developed cities afterward. Yang City’s comrcial strength paled in comparison to that of Longjing or Modu. The gap was imnse.
In the Dragon Country, sixty percent of the top talent was concentrated in Longjing, the capital city at the seat of power. Another twenty percent was in Modu. That left only the remaining nine percent for places like Yang City, and that was an optimistic estimate.
Therefore, no matter how hard the Qin Corporation tried, its chance of being chosen by the Kuangte Family was a pitifully low nine percent.
But Wu Tian also saw the absolute determination in Qin Yuhan’s eyes.
I’ve read her fortune. In one year, the Qin Corporation’s performance is set to decline drastically, which doesn’t make sense. Qin Yuhan isn’t the type to dig her own grave, so she must have encountered a powerful enemy in the business world. But if she had the Kuangte Family’s backing, who would dare to oppose her like that?
At this thought, Wu Tian couldn’t help but clench his fists. With his current talents, he only needed to read a few business books to be able to extrapolate from them and beco an extraordinary business prodigy.
The Kuangte Family would have to be blind not to see his capabilities.
Of course, Wu Tian was thinking bigger. He considered bringing the Kuangte Family under his command. Even if they were one of the ten great families of Europe, in his eyes, they were barely qualified to be his servants.
"Next week, I will hire experts to simulate the Kuangte Family’s evaluation. We’ll hold an assessnt for everyone, so treat it as a mock exam. I expect you all to take this seriously," Qin Yuhan announced. She had decided to invite so veterans from the business world to prepare the questions. Then, she singled soone out. "Head of the Logistics Departnt, bring a al to my office. I need to see you."
Wu Tian sighed in frustration. My wife gets so jealous.
Liang Qingren, who was eating at the sa table, poked him and stuck out her tongue. Her aning was clear: he was on his own now.
The other employees watched, curious about what Wu Tian could have possibly done.
Li Muge, however, felt a sense of unease. The relationship between Wu Tian and her best friend was getting stranger by the day.
Wu Tian got Qin Yuhan’s al and headed to her office.
Qin Yuhan’s fair face was set in a very serious expression. "Wu Tian, I expect you to work hard and achieve sothing significant. I want you to be a good role model for our child, not to be fooling around and philandering at the company."
Wu Tian sighed and said earnestly, "I’m not."
Her face darkened. "Am I blind? Is there sothing going on between you, Liang Qingren, and Li Muge?"
"No," Wu Tian said, shaking his head imdiately. They might be trying to make a move on , but I’m completely immune. There’s really nothing improper going on with either of them.
"Really?" Qin Yuhan asked.
Wu Tian nodded.
"Then why did Liu Feng report that you’re always letting your eyes wander and stare at beautiful won during work hours?" Qin Yuhan demanded, fuming.
"Liu Feng? Who’s that?" As soon as the words left his mouth, Wu Tian recalled what Lin Fa had told him. As the deputy head, Lin Fa had explained the company’s internal power dynamics to him.
Liu Feng was the brother-in-law of a board mber and was probably in his fifties. His daily job was to patrol the building with security, checking for any issues. Along the way, he also kept an eye out for anyone undermining the board’s interests or image.
A wry smile touched Wu Tian’s lips. I have no idea what grudge this Liu Feng has against . Is the old geezer actively seeking death?
"Why would he single you out and not ntion anyone else? Have you thought about that?" Qin Yuhan slamd her hand on the desk.
She also wanted to be a wife who supported her husband and a mother who raised her child. She dread of one day handing the company over to Wu Tian so she could focus on their baby at ho.
But what would happen if Wu Tian clashed with the board of directors? What then?
Wu Tian knew she was worried about him. His bright eyes appraised her for a mont before he placed the al he’d brought in front of her. "Eat."
"I’m not in the mood," Qin Yuhan huffed.
"You’re not eating?" Wu Tian grinned playfully. "If you misbehave, I’ll have to spank you."
Hearing the words "spank you" made Qin Yuhan’s face flush red. The mory of that night four years ago—the intense passion, the soreness of her snowy-white bottom—was still fresh in her mind.
Forcing herself to remain calm, she let out a heavy huff. I’m the president here. Why should I be afraid of him? Aloud, she said, "Just leave it there. I’ll eat it later."
"It’ll get cold, and that’s not good for you," Wu Tian said. "If you continue to be disobedient, I’ll really have to take action."
With that, Wu Tian actually started to walk around the desk toward her.
"No, no, no! I’ll eat!" Seeing him like this, Qin Yuhan was genuinely frightened. Her stern facade crumbled completely as she spoke, her face crimson.
AHEM. Under Wu Tian’s watchful gaze, Qin Yuhan obediently finished her al. It was a well-balanced set of three dishes and a soup—one at and two vegetables. Wu Tian had chosen well, and she ate with satisfaction.
After she finished, however, her expression turned serious again, tinged with her usual haughtiness.
"Wu Tian, I need to remind you that you have a child now. So don’t go around provoking other won."
"What if other won provoke ?" Wu Tian asked with a smile.
"Impossible," Qin Yuhan sniffed. Wu Tian was rely handso in a refined way. She couldn’t believe any woman would be blind enough to fall for him.
"How is that impossible?" Hearing her talk as if he were completely undesirable annoyed Wu Tian. "Didn’t you fall for ?"
"Nonsense!" Qin Yuhan’s face flushed. "That’s not what happened! So don’t think you’ve won
over, Wu Tian. I’m telling you, you haven’t yet."
"Alright, I haven’t yet," Wu Tian shrugged.
"That’s it?" Seeing his casual attitude, she puffed out her cheeks in anger.
"What else?" Wu Tian, lacking emotional intelligence, asked tentatively, "Do I need to pursue you again?"
"When did you ever pursue
in the first place?" Qin Yuhan huffed, looking incredibly cute in her anger, though she herself didn’t realize it.
In her heart, she wanted to be pursued. But looking back, she couldn’t say Wu Tian had ever actually courted her.
"I understand," Wu Tian said after a mont’s thought, his brow furrowed slightly. "I’ll... give it a try."
As an Immortal Emperor, pursuing soone is a genuinely difficult task.
Qin Yuhan huffed again, annoyed by his apparent reluctance. Still, she decided to give him a chance. Her voice softened as she said, "You’re just starting to learn about the business world, so there’s still ti. If there’s anything you don’t understand, you can co to ."
