Chapter 6: Chapter 6: dical Master of Apricot Forest
"Weren’t you just saying you’re the top doctor in Yang City? That our young lady would be fine in your hands?" one of the preschool teachers glared at Li Bin.
"This..." Li Bin’s forehead beaded with cold sweat. He stamred, "Don’t worry. I’ve already notified my teacher. He’s the master healer of Yang City. With him on the case, there will definitely be no problem."
The two teachers looked at Li Bin with contempt.
Gugu waved a dismissive hand and looked at Qin Zhengyang and Wu Tian, her little lips pouting as she asked, "Is this what they call a useless person?"
Li Bin flushed with embarrassnt, feeling as if he’d taken 10,000 points of damage.
But he had no choice. He simply couldn’t figure out why Lin Mo was in this state and didn’t dare to act rashly. She was the young lady of the Lin Family, after all. If he ssed up the treatnt, there would be hell to pay. He had assud it was just a minor illness and he could use the opportunity to get closer to her. But who could have expected it to turn out like this?
At that mont, the unconscious Lin Mo began to cough violently again. Her delicate, doll-like face was deathly pale, and the monitors beside her bed blared with urgent alarms.
With the exception of Wu Tian, everyone’s expression changed drastically. They all knew what the alarms ant. Even Gugu grew anxious and instinctively threw her arms around Qin Zhengyang’s neck.
"Grandpa, is Sister Mo going to die? That’s what happens in TV shows! I don’t want that to happen!"
Qin Zhengyang nearly choked.
"What do we do?" The two teachers began to panic. If the Lin Family decided to bla them, they would be ruined.
Qiu Yulan took a deep breath. "Let
perform the surgery."
"What are your chances of success?" Qin Zhengyang asked.
"None whatsoever," Qiu Yulan replied.
Qin Zhengyang was stunned. He and Lin Mo’s father had been friends for years. If Lin Mo died here, his old friend would be utterly devastated.
Li Bin and the others all frowned.
Especially Li Bin. If Lin Mo dies here, it will be all over the news. The public will think this hospital’s dical skills are worthless. What would beco of my future?
Wu Tian stood calmly to one side. The impermanence of life and death was a truth he had grasped long ago in the Immortal Emperor Realm. He had grown indifferent to such matters, but seeing his little girl’s big eyes brimming with tears, his heart softened.
He had once been like water, but after the cruelties of the Immortal Emperor Realm, he had beco ice. Yet, his little girl was like the sun, gradually lting him back into the gentle, harmless water he once was. This was the power of a child! The saying, "Even a vicious tiger will not eat its cub," stems from this very power.
Wu Tian recalled when he first arrived in the Immortal Emperor Realm. He had been starving to death, saved only by the charity of an old physician who then imparted all of his dical techniques to him. The old physician had once said, "dical techniques are for saving those you are fated to et."
Wu Tian’s gaze fell upon Lin Mo on the bed. "I’ll save her," he said, "but I’ll need an assistant."
"You?" Li Bin’s eyes nearly popped out of his head.
Has this guy gone mad? Even my teacher would have less than a fifty percent chance of success with an illness of an unknown cause. This guy doesn’t look like a physician... Spouting such nonsense? The kid must have a death wish. If Lin Mo dies, her attending physician will have to face the wrath of the Lin Family.
Qin Zhengyang looked at Wu Tian in surprise. "Little Tian, this is no child’s play. Have you studied dicine?"
"Yes! Can you even take responsibility?" Li Bin interjected sharply. "If she dies, you’re the one who killed her. This has nothing to do with our hospital. Let’s get that straight right now."
Wu Tian ignored Li Bin as if he were an insect.
A srizing confidence shone in Wu Tian’s eyes, causing even Qiu Yulan to look at him a few more tis. "How certain are you?" she asked.
"One hundred percent," Wu Tian stated.
A hush fell over the room. One hundred percent? It was pure, unbelievable nonsense.
"Daddy is so amazing! Daddy is my idol!" Gugu clapped her chubby little hands together.
Wu Tian smiled and reached out to pinch his daughter’s collagen-filled cheeks before turning back to Qiu Yulan. "You will assist ."
"This..." Qiu Yulan hesitated for a mont, then, to her own surprise, nodded in agreent.
"Everyone else, step away from the bed," Wu Tian commanded.
Qin Zhengyang studied his son-in-law intently for a long mont, then nodded and ushered the others away. His heart was filled with curiosity.
Little Tian, do you really know dical techniques?
「In the patient’s room」
"I need so needles."
"I have them." Qiu Yulan produced a needle pouch from her pocket. She ca from a family of traditional physicians, which included her father, a younger sister, and a younger brother. She, however, was considered the least talented when it ca to inheriting the family’s dical legacy. Unwilling to accept this, she always carried a needle pouch to practice in her free ti, never imagining it would actually be of use today.
"Remove her top."
"What?" Hearing Wu Tian’s command, Qiu Yulan thought she had misheard. She looked at him again and saw that as he held a needle, an extraordinary aura emanated from him. It was an aura she had only ever seen on her father—the mark of a master healer.
However, to my utter disbelief, his aura as a Physician is imasurably greater than my father’s!
At this mont, Wu Tian was purely a Physician. When he held a silver needle, distinctions like man and woman vanished from his sight. There was only the patient. Naturally, he didn’t notice the strange look in Qiu Yulan’s eyes.
The Spiritual Power in his body began to flow, infusing the silver needle in his hand. Then, under Qiu Yulan’s increasingly astonished gaze, he inserted the needle into an acupoint on Lin Mo’s lower abdon with the fluid grace of flowing water.
Lin Mo’s face, which had been pale as a sheet, imdiately began to improve. A healthy, rosy color gradually returned to her cheeks.
The needle was not withdrawn. The Spiritual Power within it used the needle as a conduit, flowing directly into Lin Mo’s bloodstream.
「Outside the patient’s room」
Zhang Fengtian, the master healer of Yang City, arrived with Patriarch Lin Zhan of the Lin Family and their entourage.
"How is she? Is my daughter all right?" The most anxious among them was Lin Mo’s father, Lin Zhan. On his way into the hospital, he had run into Zhang Fengtian, who had been specially invited by Li Bin, so the two had co together.
"It’s a long story," Qin Zhengyang sighed.
"Mr. Lin, please rest assured," Li Bin said, bowing respectfully to Zhang Fengtian before addressing Lin Zhan. "My teacher is here now, so everything will be fine."
Zhang Fengtian stood with his hands clasped behind his back. As the sole master healer in Yang City, he had treated governors, deputy governors, city mayors, and various tycoons. It was said that when the rich and powerful fell ill, he was the first person they sought. Indeed, there were few ailnts he could not cure.
"Mr. Lin, you can relax. With
here, your daughter will be perfectly fine," Zhang Fengtian said with a smile.
Lin Zhan nodded. "I know the rules. Everything has been prepared. We are just waiting for you to act."
Zhang Fengtian had one rule when it ca to saving lives: his fee was a hospital. He already had thirty-seven hospitals to his na, scattered across various regions.
"Good. Then I shall begin at once." Zhang Fengtian stepped forward to open the door, only to find it locked. His face darkened completely. "What is the aning of this? Who is in there?"
