Chapter 53: People gather with their own kind in Chapter 53.

Lin Tianlong watched as Wu Tian ignored him. Displeased, but unable to ascertain Wu Tian’s identity at the mont, he could only huff and walk away.

In the valley, a long table was laden with all sorts of delicacies, arranged like a banquet.

Lin Tianlong drank his wine sullenly.

"Young Master Lin, what’s the matter?" a few smartly dressed young n asked as they walked over.

"I ran into a guy with a big ego," Lin Tianlong said.

He didn’t consider himself egotistical for getting sulky over being ignored. Instead, he decided Wu Tian, the one who ignored him, was the one with the ego.

"Oh? Who was it?"

"Who dares to provoke our Young Master Lin?"

Birds of a feather flock together. These young n were idle heirs from wealthy families. They didn’t need to work and often gathered to drink and chase won.

Lin Tianlong pointed in Wu Tian’s direction. "It’s him."

"His clothes don’t look very impressive."

"Could he be a wolf in sheep’s clothing? Maybe the son of so tycoon?"

The poor wouldn’t know about the opening of the Gambling Stone Field, nor would they be allowed entry. Wu Tian’s background left them all puzzled.

Among the group was Nangong Yi, who sneered, "What tycoon? His background is quite ordinary; he just has a mother at ho. Aside from being sowhat good at fighting and racing, he’s nothing special."

Naturally, Nangong Yi wouldn’t speak well of Wu Tian. He downplayed Wu Tian’s terrifying skills as just being "sowhat good at fighting." His nearly magical drifting technique was trivialized into being "sowhat good at racing."

"So, you’re saying he’s not wealthy?" Upon hearing this, everyone frowned.

As sons of wealthy families, they had considered themselves superior from a young age, believing they were both talented and handso. They believed that at a gathering like this, only they, the true dragons among n, should be allowed entry. But now, an impoverished boy had slipped in? So of them already wore looks of disdain.

"Young Master Lin, that half-brother of yours seems rather fond of him," Nangong Yi suddenly remarked.

The other young masters nodded in agreent.

"Even though that brother of yours is an illegitimate son, he’s still managed to get one foot into our circle. How could he associate with a poor person?"

"Exactly. A poor person like that can’t be our friend."

"Our backgrounds dictate the kind of friends we should make. We should only befriend people who can help us."

"Right, right, right," the young masters all agreed enthusiastically. "What help could a poor person like that possibly offer him?"

This wasn’t just their own belief; their parents had taught them the sa. They were to choose friends who could be useful and avoid those who were not.

In their eyes, Wu Tian couldn’t possibly offer Lin Fa any help. For Lin Fa to befriend him was, to them, an act of sheer stupidity.

In an exquisite building within the valley, a middle-aged man had already donned a Sun Yat-sen suit. His ntor, Xiao Liang, preferred them over Western suits.

At that mont, there was a knock on the door.

"Co in," the middle-aged man said.

The door opened, and Nalan Feng walked in.

"Dad, I heard Grandmaster is coming tonight?" Nalan Feng asked.

"Yes. Your grandmaster also said he wants to introduce an expert to ." Nalan Jie’s expression turned solemn. "My teacher rarely holds anyone in high regard. If he calls soone an expert, that person is worth befriending. Feng, you must personally host him later."

"Don’t worry," Nalan Feng replied.

A look of intense interest appeared in his eyes. He had long known that martial arts masters existed in the city. The expert his Grandmaster Xiao Liang ntioned must be like the white-haired grandmasters from TV shows and novels.

Nalan Feng was already thinking, How wonderful would it be if I could beco his disciple?

The Nalan Family was originally just a family of scholars. They had only achieved their current status thanks to the help of Nalan Jie’s teacher, Xiao Liang.

Tonight, with Xiao Liang set to introduce an expert, both father and son were overjoyed, feeling that the ti had co for the Nalan Family to ascend to the next level.

"My teacher will call

when he arrives," Nalan Jie said after a mont’s thought, looking at his son. "Go outside and maintain order, understand?"

"Yes." Nalan Feng nodded and left.

Although Nalan Feng was now the president of the Nalan Group, Nalan Jie was still the chairman of the board. That, combined with their father-son relationship, ant Nalan Feng had no choice but to be completely respectful.

anwhile, Wu Tian and Lin Fa were eating together.

"Three spoonfuls of caviar, two pieces of egg bread, and a glass of white spirit," Wu Tian instructed Lin Fa. "Now, take another spoon. Place so caviar and a piece of the bread on it, sprinkle the spirit on top, and then put it in your mouth."

Lin Fa was skeptical but followed Wu Tian’s instructions. The mont he put it in his mouth, a flavor he had never experienced before exploded on his palate.

The incredible taste made Lin Fa’s eyes widen, his body trembling with delight.

Watching this, the wealthy young ladies eating nearby looked at each other in disbelief. Could this be real?

Most won are foodies, regardless of their social class. They followed Wu Tian’s instructions and tried it for themselves. Instantly, the won’s faces flushed and their eyes widened in ecstasy. They turned to look at Wu Tian in amazent.

So of the young ladies couldn’t resist approaching him. Where one went, others followed, and soon a whole group of them had gathered around Wu Tian.

"What’s going on?"

"Why are all those ladies flocking around that poor boy?"

"Is that poor kid just really smooth with his words?"

"Using sweet talk to charm won is such a lower-class tactic."

Seeing the crowd of wealthy young ladies heading toward Wu Tian, many of the young masters were green with envy. They were filled with jealousy and resentnt. They had co to the Gambling Stone Field for two reasons: first, to see if anyone would cut a valuable stone tonight, and second, to et the daughter of a wealthy family. A one-night stand would be the icing on the cake.

But what was happening now? The young, affluent ladies had all flocked to Wu Tian’s side.

Nangong Yi also felt a pang of jealousy. He was the most handso man here, yet the number of won around him was not even a fifth of the crowd surrounding Wu Tian. For Nangong Yi, this was a complete disgrace.

"Nangong Yi, so you ca too." Having co down from the building, Nalan Feng spotted Nangong Yi and walked over. "Perfect. I have sothing to ask you."

"What do you want to ask?" Nangong Yi replied.

The two were romantic rivals, not friends. Naturally, they didn’t have each other’s contact information.

If it weren’t for Nangong Yi’s own skills and his connections to the Qin Corporation, Nalan Feng would have gone mad long ago and sent soone to gouge his eyes out.

"I want to ask you about Wu Tian. I assu you know him? Tell , does he have an impressive background?" As the president of the Nalan Group, Nalan Feng knew he had to be cautious.
