Bullets raked the outskirts of the Boling Cui clan's estate, mowing down the guards on the periter as simply as chopping vegetables. Trails of fresh blood spurted into the air as they were all shot dead.
Simultaneously, the iron-masked n launched their assault, clashing with the outer guards of the Boling Cui clan. In the eyes of the clan's n, these assailants were roughly on par with them in skill. But for so reason, they found themselves breathless, their limbs heavy. Their speed, their reactions—everything was a fraction slower than the iron-masked n. The next mont, all they could do was die under the cold steel of their enemies' blades.
The surviving guards turned pale with terror and hastily fell back. As the iron-masked n advanced, the n of the Boling Cui clan were forced back step by step.
Trailing behind the attackers, Wu Tian and Cui Chong watched the battle unfold. Cui Chong was utterly shaken.
Why? He knew his own iron-masked n were roughly equal in strength to the guards of the Boling Cui clan. But this ti? They had killed more than a hundred of the Boling Cui clan's guards, yet not a single one of his n was even injured. Though their strengths should have been balanced, his iron-masked n were slaughtering the guards as easily as a hungry tiger pouncing on its prey.
Why?
Because of Wu Tian.
Wu Tian hadn't made a single move, yet his re presence exerted an imnse pressure on the Boling Cui guards. It slowed their movents and dulled their reactions. Though they were just as skilled as the iron-masked n, they could only wait for the slaughter. Cui Chong couldn't begin to comprehend how Wu Tian had achieved this. The young man's strength was simply unfathomable.
Leading a group of n in black, Cui Tan and Cui Yao stepped out to witness the bloody scene. The n in black were stunned. In their eyes, the iron-masked assailants weren't particularly formidable, yet for so reason, an inexplicable fear and pressure gripped their hearts.
Cui Tan spotted Cui Chong standing at the rear of the attacking force and roared, "Cui Chong, what is the aning of this? Is your Qinghe Cui clan declaring a war to the death with my Boling Cui clan?"
Hearing this, a youthful passion surged through the elderly Cui Chong, and he shouted back, "Yes! So what? There is only room for one Cui clan in this world. Not your Boling Cui clan, but my Qinghe Cui clan!"
"The Qinghe Cui clan may have surpassed us in its developnt, but don't you forget who stands behind ! I have the Sword Emperor!" Cui Tan yelled.
Cui Chong just chuckled and stepped behind Wu Tian, a clear gesture that the Qinghe Cui clan now had its own backer: this young man.
Shocked, Cui Yao hurriedly whispered to his father, "Father, that's Wu Tian."
Cui Tan's pupils shrank. How could Wu Tian be leading the Qinghe Cui clan in an attack? Could he have already found out about our plan to assassinate him?
"If you don't want others to find out, you shouldn't have done it in the first place," Wu Tian said, his gaze fixed on Cui Tan and Cui Yao, his tone chillingly calm. "After tonight, the Boling Cui clan will be no more."
"No more Boling Cui clan!"
"No more Boling Cui clan!"
"No more Boling Cui clan!"
The iron-masked n roared in unison. They had already co to worship Wu Tian. With him at their backs, killing felt as easy as slicing vegetables. In their hearts, Wu Tian was a god.
He's actually going to exterminate our Boling Cui clan? Cui Tan, Cui Yao, and the others were in disbelief. Ever since their famous ancestor in the Three Kingdoms era, the Boling Cui clan had continuously produced renowned generals and ministers. To this day, they remained a prestigious and powerful house. No one had ever dared to claim they could wipe them out. Yet this young man before them had just declared it so. They simply couldn't believe it.
Wu Tian waved his hand. "First round, fire!"
The iron-masked n at the rear raised their rifles and unleashed a volley.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Bullets flew, and blood sprayed through the air.
"Quick, take cover!"
"Run!"
The Boling Cui clan's n fell into disarray, scrambling to find anything to hide behind.
"Ah!" Cui Tan scread as a bullet tore through his right leg. Cui Yao imdiately dragged him behind a wall for cover.
And so, the extermination began.
"Dad, what do we do now?" Cui Yao asked anxiously.
Cui Tan's expression was complex. By all rights, tonight should have been their attack on Wu Tian. They should have held the initiative. He never imagined things would turn out like this, with the Boling Cui clan on the receiving end.
"Counterattack! We must counterattack!" Cui Tan roared, his voice filled with desperate resolve. "Everyone, open fire! Wu Tian has delivered himself to our doorstep! I know this will be a tough fight, but if we succeed, our fortunes will soar! Everyone, give it your all!"
Cui Tan's words managed to rally so of them. A few of the n in black, their eyes now firm with determination, were stirred into a frenzy. They grabbed their rifles and charged from cover.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
But the iron-masked n were waiting. The mont the chargers appeared, they opened fire. One after another, the n in black crumpled to the ground.
"Why is this happening? What kind of useless trash did you hire?" Cui Tan snarled, clutching his bleeding leg. The dire situation made him lash out at his son. "They have rifles too! Why didn't they fire as they charged out? Did they just run out to get shot?"
Cui Yao had no idea what was happening either.
Cui Tan gritted his teeth. It had co to this. They had no choice but to fight to the death.
"Son, we fight."
"But…" Cui Yao was terrified of dying.
"Don't worry. We will die an honorable death. I've already sent my two granddaughters away. We die for the Sword Emperor, and he will take care of them. He will avenge us. With our affairs in order, it's ti for us to make our last stand!" Cui Tan knew their chances were slim to none. But as long as his granddaughters were safe under the Sword Emperor's protection, the Boling Cui clan's lineage would not be extinguished.
Cui Yao nodded reluctantly.
"Charge!" Cui Tan bellowed, being the first to burst from behind cover.
Seeing this, the remaining n in black charged out as well, a crazed, desperate rush. They poured all their strength into a final assault, determined to take the iron-masked n down with them. But the outco was already decided.
The iron-masked n were ruthless. Every strike took a life. They advanced relentlessly, leaving only a trail of blood and bodies in their wake.
"No, no, no, I can't do this! I don't want to die!" Cui Yao scread, freezing halfway through the charge. The bloody spectacle before him shattered his nerve, and he couldn't take another step forward.
The next mont, Cui Yao abandoned his father, Cui Tan. He turned and sprinted towards the outer courtyard.
Escape! Faster, faster, faster!
In the face of death, he unleashed a speed he never knew he possessed. He was about to escape the courtyard, the screams of his kinsn fading behind him. He didn't care. Even if it was his own father screaming, he no longer cared. He just wanted to live.
Finally, he burst out of the villa complex.
"I… I escaped? I'm not dead?"
A wild elation washed over him. But just as his words registered, a coin shot through the air, a blur that seed to tear through space itself before it punched straight through his heart.
Cui Yao's smile froze on his face as he collapsed.
Back in the courtyard of the Boling Cui estate, the only one left alive was Cui Tan.
