Lin Yi, Ding Yi, and Wang Chong. When discussing the modern Huashan Sect, these three nas were always ntioned. Yet now, the three of them stood motionless, as if frozen in place, and no one had any idea what was happening.

Beside them, Gona turned to the two Huashan Elders. "Elders, what's going on here?"

The two Elders didn't know what was happening either, but they understood one thing: if Lin Yi, Ding Yi, and Wang Chong remained standing there like statues, the Huashan Sect would beco a laughingstock.

"Perhaps that man possesses so Evil Techniques," the Left Elder sighed. He took a sip of wine and added nonchalantly, "I initially had no plans to intervene, as this is a matter for the younger generation. But now, I have no choice but to act."

The Left Elder drew his sword and stepped forward.

Seeing his colleague make a move, the Right Elder chuckled. He looked at Gona, Watt, and the others at their table and said, "Everyone, please, eat and drink. Since my old colleague has stepped in, this matter is as good as done." With that said, he leisurely returned to enjoying the fine food on the table.

The Left Elder said nothing more and walked straight toward Wu Tian. His gaze held no Killing Intent, only sympathy. Had Wu Tian died at the hands of Lin Yi, Ding Yi, or Wang Chong, his death would have been quick and clean. To die by the Left Elder's sword, however, would be agonizing; the Elder was infamous for severing both of a victim's arms before delivering the final blow.

No one in the courtyard had expected a Huashan Sect Elder to personally intervene. But as the Left Elder approached Wu Tian, he suddenly froze in place, just like the others. A stunned silence fell over the courtyard as everyone stared in shock.

Gona looked at the Right Elder and demanded gravely, "What in the world is going on?"

The Right Elder froze, the food still in his mouth, too shocked to even swallow. Hearing Gona's question, he was just as baffled. You're asking ? Who the hell am I supposed to ask?

Had anyone looked closely, they would have seen cold sweat dripping from the foreheads of the Left Elder, Lin Yi, Ding Yi, and Wang Chong, but few noticed this detail. All four of them remained completely still.

Then, Wu Tian moved. He walked up to the Left Elder, who was now closest to him, and snatched the sword from his hand. The Elder didn't react. He wasn't being held by so mysterious force; he was simply paralyzed by a fear so profound that he couldn't move a muscle.

Wu Tian looked at the Left Elder, smiled faintly, and raised the sword. It seed that in the next mont, the sword would fall and the Left Elder would die.

"You can't!" the Right Elder cried out. "He is the Left Elder of our Huashan Sect! We have the Arrow King! More masters will be joining our ranks soon! You..."

But before he could finish his threat, the Right Elder watched in astonishnt as Wu Tian's sword fell.

The Left Elder's eyes widened in terror. He wanted to dodge, but fear rendered him motionless. As the sword descended, a line of blood appeared on his neck. He crumpled to the ground, dead.

The Right Elder never expected his opponent would actually dare to kill. "How... how could you?" he cried out.

Wu Tian didn't reply, instead continuing toward Wang Chong, Ding Yi, and Lin Yi.

If soone wants to kill , I will kill them. How can there be a principle where others are allowed to kill , but I am not allowed to kill them? Wu Tian considered the Right Elder's words the ramblings of an idiot, unworthy of a response.

Wang Chong and Ding Yi were filled with regret, so terrified they felt they might faint. Lin Yi, however, let out a desolate laugh. There was no sorrow in the sound, only an eerie strangeness.

"This can't be happening!" Cui Shanmai, Cui Shanlu, Cui Shanshui, and Cui Shanhe's other kinsn of the sa generation realized the situation had spiraled out of control. Soone from the Huashan Sect had died on the grounds of their Qinghe Cui Family. If the Arrow King beca enraged, the entire Cui Family could face his wrath. They imdiately stood up to intervene.

Cui Shanhe rely chuckled, ignoring his kinsn. Though so were his half-brothers and others his cousins, the rivalry between brothers in a great clan was terrifying. True brotherly affection simply didn't exist in such families.

The little girl was displeased. She glared at Cui Shanshui and the others, sneering, "When the Huashan Sect was trying to kill my dad, where were you?"

Cui Shanshui and the others flushed with embarrassnt. In their eyes, Wu Tian's life was rely that of a commoner—insignificant if lost. How could it possibly compare in importance to soone from the Huashan Sect? But they all knew such a thing could not be said aloud.

"AH!"

At that mont, Wang Chong fell under Wu Tian's sword.

Now Wu Tian's sword was raised again, preparing to execute Ding Yi.

"Stop!" Cui Shanshui and the other kinsn shouted. They grabbed nearby empty stools, intending to hurl them at Wu Tian to stop him.

"Get lost!" the little girl shouted, clearly unhappy. She hadn't brought her large jar, but she still had her fists. She charged forward, so fast that Qin Yuhan and Xia Qian couldn't hold her back.

"AH!"

"ARGH!"

A series of pained cries erupted as the Cui kinsn were sent reeling, large lumps swelling on their foreheads. The little girl leaped into the air, her fists flying with unerring accuracy—one punch, one person down.

Amid the chaos, Ding Yi died.

Wu Tian now stood before Lin Yi.

"No, not him!" the Right Elder scread, though he didn't dare to step forward himself. "He's different from the others! He is the hope of our Huashan Sect, our future Sect Leader!"

Wu Tian completely ignored the spineless old man. He raised the sword, ready to strike again.

"Wait. Can you kill

in a mont?" Lin Yi asked. He showed no fear, his face eerily calm. "Let

kill soone first. When I return, I'll let you kill ."

Wu Tian looked at Lin Yi, his gaze flat as if he could see right through him. He nodded. It wasn't rcy; he just suddenly wanted to see how this play would end.

Lin Yi smiled, the fear in his body now gone. Holding a silver needle between his fingers, he walked toward the table where Gona, Watt, the Right Elder, and the other Huashan disciples were sitting.

Everyone watched, unsure of what Lin Yi intended to do.

Watt, who fancied himself a master strategist of imnse talent and foresight, pondered for a mont. Suddenly, his expression changed drastically. "This is bad, Young Master!" he told Gona. "He's going to die, and he wants to take you with him!"

Gona panicked at the thought. He certainly didn't want to die on the sa day as this androgynous being.

But Lin Yi rely glanced at Gona before ignoring him, his clear eyes fixing coldly on the Right Elder.

"Lin Yi, what are you doing?" the Right Elder demanded, his voice laced with anger.

"What am I doing?" Lin Yi let out a desolate laugh. "Heh, isn't it a bit late to be asking that now? I... I only ever wanted to be a quiet disciple of the Huashan Sect. But you all forced

to learn that... that swordsmanship. You told

if I didn't learn it, I would die. It turned

into this... this thing that I despise. The Left Elder is dead. Now, it's your turn."

"No, no, no! It was for your own good!" the Right Elder stamred, scrambling backward as he prepared to flee. "Those Martial Skills might be unorthodox, but they allowed you to approach the Innate realm almost instantly!"

But how could Lin Yi possibly let him escape?

At that sa mont, Old Master Cui, the Cui Family Head, the Arrow King, and others entered the courtyard together.
