In front of the alpha’s house, Tisha cursed at , her face red with anger.
She was Tasha’s twin sister, and she had always hated .
But this ti, she had a reason to be angry.
I had destroyed Alpha Ryan’s family.
"Shut up, Tisha!" Tasha shouted. "Father and Mother already said Clarissa isn’t at fault. The Greens deceived us. If you want to be angry, be angry at them!"
From Tasha’s words, I knew Alpha Ryan, Luna Thalia, and Tasha still believed in .
Warmth filled my chest, and tears gathered in my eyes.
When you realize soone still cares about you, tears fall much easier than when you are treated harshly.
Tasha and Tisha kept arguing until the door opened, revealing Luna Thalia’s pale face.
"Co inside, Clarissa," Luna Thalia said softly, giving a faint smile.
"Mother, she—" Tisha tried to protest, but Luna Thalia gently patted her shoulder, telling her to stop.
"Tasha, Tisha, both of you co in. You don’t want to attract attention and cause trouble, do you?"
Tasha obediently went inside while holding my hand.
Tisha, unable to argue further, stomped her foot in frustration and followed.
As I entered the house, I froze.
The house was almost empty.
There were no family photos or paintings on the walls.
The shelves were bare, with no books or vases.
Even the clock was gone.
"We’re leaving soon. Father is no longer the alpha," Tasha said sadly.
My heart sank, and guilt tightened around .
Eson had already told this, but seeing it with my own eyes felt completely different.
"This is all because of you, damn it!" Tisha shouted angrily.
"If you had just stayed an orphan without a last na, my family wouldn’t be like this!"
I lowered my head.
Tasha was about to argue back, but Luna Thalia returned with tea and stopped her.
"Tisha, go to your room," Luna Thalia ordered.
"But, Mother—" Tisha protested.
One calm look from Luna Thalia was enough. Tisha left, muttering angrily.
Luna Thalia hadn’t changed.
She was still kind and gentle, yet firm when needed.
During our academy days, the only ti Tisha truly caused trouble for was when she spread false rumors about my parents. Even though she hated , she rarely crossed the line. Perhaps that had sothing to do with how Alpha Ryan and Luna Thalia raised their children.
I suddenly thought of Luna Eileen.
Both she and Luna Thalia were ogas, yet Luna Thalia always stayed clear-headed and made wise decisions.
Why was Luna Eileen, who had far more resources, completely unreliable?
I refocused when Luna Thalia asked how I survived.
I only told her that I had awakened and managed to live because of it. I didn’t explain further.
She nodded, clearly relieved.
Then her expression turned serious.
"There’s sothing important I need to tell you."
"What is it, Luna?" I asked.
"Ever since you went with the Greens as their daughter, Alpha Ryan and I tried to investigate your kidnappers. At that ti, you hadn’t awakened yet, so we wanted solid proof that you were truly their biological child."
My chest tightened.
Even after I was no longer under their protection, Alpha Ryan and Luna Thalia had still been doing so much for .
I stayed silent, letting her continue.
"Every clue we found turned out to be false, as if soone was deliberately hiding them."
I frowned.
Was there a conspiracy behind all of this?
"After we heard that Alpha Green exiled you," Luna Thalia continued, "Alpha Ryan secretly resud the investigation, without letting the Greens know. We didn’t want to offend them. And unexpectedly, we finally found your kidnappers."
"Could it be Alpha Will who hid them all this ti?" Tasha blurted out.
She looked shocked by her own thought.
So was I. I couldn’t even speak.
Luna Thalia nodded.
"We don’t know his true intentions, but Alpha Will was the one hiding them. That’s why every ti we searched openly, all the clues were fake. He was likely the one planting them."
My blood boiled.
So Alpha Will had planned everything from the beginning.
He didn’t just dislike . He acted behind the scenes.
I tried to calm the storm in my heart.
"Luna, where are the kidnappers now?"
"At the Sand Pack."
I almost choked.
The new Alpha of the Sand Pack was soone chosen by Alpha Will himself.
At that point, it was obvious. Alpha Will had malicious intentions toward from the start.
Could it be that the reason he brought down Oscar wasn’t truly because of what Oscar and Fina did to , but because he had another agenda?
I felt utterly played.
None of them had truly acted for my sake.
I was only an excuse. A stepping stone.
After discussing the kidnappers’ location, I asked where they were going next.
Luna Thalia said they would move to her parents’ pack in the Eastern Region and reunite with Alpha Ryan there.
"Why not wait until Alpha Ryan and the new alpha arrive?" I asked.
Luna Thalia’s eyes darkened.
"The new alpha is not a good person. He’s a forr warrior who was expelled for abusing his authority and harming ordinary werewolves."
A chill ran down my spine.
I had a bad feeling about the Brown Pack’s future.
Sohow, I felt that Alpha Will was involved in choosing that man.
Perhaps he deliberately picked him to intimidate Alpha Ryan and Luna Thalia.
He truly was despicable.
After our conversation, Luna Thalia invited to stay for dinner, but I refused.
I needed to head to the Sand Pack imdiately.
I had too many questions for my kidnappers, and this was only the beginning of my revenge.
"Be careful, Clarissa. I hope we can et again," Tasha said, hugging tightly, unwilling to let go.
She reminded of little Ella.
I didn’t say anything, but in my heart, I made a promise.
I would return them to where they truly belonged.
