After that, I told Derren everything that had happened yesterday and played the full recording captured by my necklace.

Derren’s jaw tightened as he listened. His eyes even turned red with anger. But when he glanced at , there was a heavy guilt in them.

"Leave everything to , Clarissa. I won’t let them get away with this."

He then took the necklace as evidence.

Not long after, we arrived at the dical center. They ran a full examination on my body, and I had to be hospitalized.

The doctor eyed Derren suspiciously. My injuries clearly looked like the result of a beating.

"I– it wasn’t , doctor..." Derren stamred, flustered under the doctor’s scathing glare.

I chuckled softly at his attempt to defend himself.

By noon, Luna Eileen arrived with tears streaming down her face. She ran toward , wanting to hug , but when she saw my condition, she hesitated—afraid she might hurt . In the end, she simply held my hand tightly.

That night, Larry, Edwin, and Shannon ca straight from the academy. They couldn’t hold back their emotions. The two n were practically furious.

"I’ll get revenge for this. I won’t let Sanders live peacefully," Edwin growled, fists clenched so tight his knuckles turned white.

It took a long ti for to calm them down.

Even though I was the one who got hurt—angry, devastated, and desperate for revenge—

sohow, watching others express that anger for ... eased the storm in my heart.

In the following days, Luna Eileen and Derren visited every day at the dical center. Larry, Edwin, and Shannon couldn’t visit as often since they lived in the dorms.

Every ti he ca, Edwin would give updates about my case.

"Fina and her cronies have been officially expelled from the academy. Green Pack has terminated all cooperation with Sand Pack. A few other packs that aren’t close to Sand Pack are following Green Pack’s lead. Their Alpha is panicking."

I’d guessed Fina would be expelled, but Green Pack’s actions were way beyond my expectations.

"Won’t Green Pack get backlash too?" I asked.

Edwin wasn’t sure. Only when Derren arrived did he explain Sand Pack’s actual position.

"Everything Sand Pack offered in the cooperation agreent can be obtained from other packs. Sand Pack was chosen only for fairness. Now, if we keep working with them, it would be unfair to you."

"Thank you for defending ." I truly had no other words besides gratitude.

"We’re a family. Of course we’ll defend you—whatever happens," Luna Eileen replied softly.

...

A little over a week passed before I was finally discharged.

The fracture in my leg only needed a cast now. The injuries on my outer body had mostly healed, though a few areas still left scars.

So of them were on my face.

"Don’t worry. There’s a ninety-percent chance a werewolf’s scars disappear after the first shift," Derren said calmly.

"And if they don’t, we can take you to a doctor to remove them," Luna Eileen added.

Of course I hoped the scars would fade on their own. Getting them removed professionally was extrely expensive.

Though honestly—who knew when I would ever get the chance to shift? Who knew when I would awaken my inner wolf?

Unlike , who was anxious, Luna Eileen, Derren, and the others weren’t worried at all. They were certain I’d awaken my inner wolf and my special power at the sa ti.

Maybe only then would the new Alpha finally acknowledge as his daughter. Out of the entire Green family, he was the only one who hadn’t visited in the hospital. No one had ntioned him all week either.

Still, the process of transferring and changing my na continued without issue.

We weren’t heading to Green Pack or the academy today. We were on our way to Brown Pack. Derren needed to finalize my pack-transfer docunts, and I would retrieve the belongings I left behind.

Entering Brown Pack’s territory—so familiar yet distant—I felt far more emotional than usual.

Here, the trees grew thick. Most of the roads were re dirt paths; only the roads near the pack center and the leaders’ hos were paved.

The houses looked old. The werewolves living here wore the sa clothes almost every day.

The gap between Brown Pack and Green Pack felt enormous.

During the journey, Luna Eileen held close, afraid I’d stumble on the rough road. But I was used to it. I even knew the exact paths where people usually slipped.

Soon, we reached the leaders’ residential area. The two-story house in the middle was the nicest building we had seen since entering the pack.

Yes, that was the Alpha’s house.

Alpha Ryan and Luna Thalia welcod us warmly. Seeing Luna Thalia’s gentle smile made the heaviness in my chest lighten.

"Welco to our humble territory, Luna Eileen, Alpha’s Heir Derren, and Miss Clarissa of Green Pack," Alpha Ryan greeted formally.

I froze. I’d only ever seen him greet visiting dignitaries like this. I never expected to be the one receiving it.

Luna Eileen and Derren responded just as formally. I honestly didn’t know how to act.

Thankfully, they understood and moved straight to the matter at hand.

In short, I was now officially transferred from Brown Pack to Green Pack. My na had been legally changed to Clarissa Green.

While Derren and Alpha Ryan handled the remaining docunts, Luna Eileen, Luna Thalia, and I headed to the orphanage—my old ho.

It was far from the pack center, and the road was terrible. Thankfully, Luna Thalia insisted we take a car; otherwise, Luna Eileen might not have made it.

The orphanage was nothing more than a wooden house with two large bedrooms, a living room, and a kitchen.

Right now, it was empty. Brown Pack didn’t have many orphans.

Usually, if a pup lost their parents, another family would foster them. The pups would stay in the orphanage only for a few days or weeks until they were taken in.

Besides —who had lived here for more than ten years—the only other pup who stayed here long-term had been one child, and even then only for a single year before distant relatives eventually took her.
