At 11:00 in the morning, Valerie, accompanied by Hans, visited the prison. She imdiately got out of the car, carrying a light brown branded bag that matched her vanilla-colored outfit. The pregnant woman entered the main room and faced the police officer while taking a seat.
"Mrs. Valerie Trierweiler McCourtney," the police officer greeted casually.
"Sir, I want to see Samuel," Valerie said without beating around the bush.
The officer in navy black imdiately furrowed his brows.
"Um, I think you’re aware that he’s been released, probably over a week ago," he said.
Valerie furrowed her brows. "Released?"
"Yeah..."
"How could he be released? He deserves to be imprisoned for what he’s done to and my husband!" Valerie protested, unable to contain her emotions in her shock, rembering all Samuel’s bad things towards her and Damian.
"Soone bailed him out and made an agreent," the officer replied. "Since the conditions were t, the police allowed him to be released but with certain limitations," he continued casually.
Valerie sighed, feeling foolish for feeling safe all this ti only to find out that the source of her problems was now roaming free.
"A girl nad Hannah filed for his freedom... She was assisted by a lawyer," the officer explained further.
"Hannah?" Valerie was even more surprised, while Hans, standing behind her, imdiately beca interested in the conversation. "What does freeing Samuel an? Or could it be that she freed him after getting money from and Damian? What’s her intention... She knows that Samuel is a dangerous man, even an enemy of my husband... How could she release him with our money? Doesn’t she consider the consequences for us?" she wondered in astonishnt.
"For that matter, we don’t know, but she’s the one who tried to set him free," the officer answered. "But if he’s found doing anything that could endanger Hannah’s or anyone else’s life, he’ll be detained again without the chance of being released. And wherever he moves to a new place, he has to get permission from the police," he continued.
"Do you know where he is now?" This ti Hans asked.
"He’s in Arizona, right after leaving this town, he went there, and we’ve coordinated with the police team there to keep an eye on him," the officer explained.
"Well..." Valerie sighed, leaning her back against the chair. "Hannah took him there, maybe to her family’s house or his old apartnt... But why? What’s her goal? Why did she have to set him free?" She wondered again in amazent.
The police officer just shrugged.
"Sothing might have happened," Hans said with a disappointed look.
"Yeah... certainly. Because previously, she was very comfortable with , but that day she suddenly wanted to resign," Valerie replied anxiously, Rembering when Hannah begged to leave her job even though previously she insisted on continuing to work even though she was paid little.
"To follow up on your surprise at his freedom, we can coordinate with the police in Arizona to ensure that he’s not acting suspiciously... Or potentially harming you and your husband again," the officer said.
"Even my husband has been hurt... Yesterday," Valerie replied with a pout, can’t hide her annoyance. "I ca here to et him because I suspected him, but it turns out he’s free, and that only adds to my suspicion of him...He was the only one who dealt with and my husband and he was the only one who ever hurt my husband, so I think he was the perpetrator, maybe by ordering soone else to use tricks, what happened to my husband was considered just like an argunt, not a murder plot," she continued.
The officer imdiately furrowed his brows, looking concerned.
"Please investigate... I’m sure He’s behind what happened to my husband yesterday," Valerie said again. "You can contact other police departnts handling this case..."
"So the one handling this case isn’t from the police departnt here, that’s why I had no idea that your husband was just injured," the officer replied regretfully.
Valerie nodded, then quickly bid farewell to leave the police station and re-entered the car with Hans.
The woman fell silent with feelings of sadness, worry, and deep disappointnt. She kept imagining how Hannah surprised her by suddenly resigning, and eventually, she and her husband rewarded her with a lot of money as appreciation for her dedication all this ti, but she repaid it with betrayal by freeing Samuel.
"She even used herself as collateral to set Samuel free," she whispered.
"I was also very surprised because before, she promised to spend ti with after you and your husband returned from the honeymoon," Hans replied, focusing on driving.
"I also thought she would have a relationship with you because she seed to like you and let you get close to her."
"I think she’s under so pressure to dare to do this. I’m sure she’s still a good girl... I’m sure she doesn’t have bad intentions toward you and your husband.... I’m worried she’s in trouble now."
"But why?" Valerie asked, leaning back and massaging her head with her hand leaning against the car door. "I thought Samuel wouldn’t be able to threaten her from afar."
"It could happen, for example, if he borrowed a phone at the police station, claiming to contact his family but instead calling Hannah," Hans said. "I’m sure if there weren’t any serious issues, he wouldn’t disappear from our radar imdiately," he continued, recalling several attempts to contact Hannah but always failing.
"I don’t know... I don’t want to talk to her because I might just get angry... Whatever the reason, what she did was very detrintal... I’m sure she’s truly the mastermind behind the attack on Damian yesterday," Valerie replied, then took her phone from her bag and called her mother-in-law.
...
Washington DC
Karina was sitting leisurely on her bedroom terrace, enjoying a glass of orange juice and the fruit on the white plate in front of her.
"Is there any news?" she asked soone on the phone.
"Yes, there’s a lot you should know," a woman on the phone replied. "Firstly, Valerie is pregnant again, and the next news is that Damian was severely injured in a fight with soone."
Karina imdiately furrowed her brows.
"There’s nothing pleasant about that news. I don’t like Valerie being pregnant again... She’ll get more attention from Damian!" she exclaid angrily. "When you feel safe, you should do sothing about it!"
"So you don’t want to do sothing to her son?"
"Drop that idea!" Karina hissed, her gaze sharp, her mind focused on Valerie who always wins.
"Okay... I can arrange that."
"And what about Damian’s condition? Is his injury too severe, does he need to be hospitalized?" Karina asked with concern evident on her face.
"Of course, his injury is very severe because it’s a wound to the abdon... He was stabbed twice by a stranger who suddenly got into a conflict with him on the roadside," the girl explained. "But it seems his family suspects that it wasn’t just an ordinary altercation but the stranger wanted to harm him but created a problem and drew Damian’s attention to get involved, and they ended up fighting."
"I thought he had no enemies other than a man nad Samuel who liked Valerie."
"I don’t know, I can’t keep track of that because I’m not always at the hospital... I have to take care of Daniel... and it’s testing my patience!" The woman sounded frustrated.
Karina sighed heavily.
"You can carry out your task to do sothing to Valerie, sothing that can make her sad and Damian will hate her," she said.
"Okay, I need to co up with a plan for that... But don’t forget the paynt."
"Don’t worry..."
"Darling!"
The man’s voice from the direction of the room startled Karina. "I thought Tristan was coming, we can talk later!" he exclaid, then hung up the phone.
The woman imdiately stood up, welcoming her husband who approached her with a smile, then hugged him.
"You’re ho early," she said after he released her from the hug.
"Yes, there’s no more important assignnt," Tristan replied as he took off his dusty jacket.
Karina quickly took the jacket and hung it over her arm.
Tristan noticed there were fruits and juice on the table, so he sat down and pulled Karina to sit on his lap.
"How many tis have you eaten today?" he asked.
"I don’t know," Karina replied with a shy smile. "But this morning I had breakfast with you then I had cereal then lunch... And this is my al now," she continued, glancing at the fruits and juice.
Tristan smiled and pinched Karina’s slightly chubby cheek.
"I’m glad you’ve passed through the nausea and vomiting to dizziness, and finally you’re eating a lot now," he said, then stroked her slightly bulging belly covered by a brownish-white nightgown with an open hand. "And your belly is already showing... It’s really good. I can feel the presence of our child," he continued.
Karina just smiled thinly, letting Tristan pamper her belly, but it was sothing that made her very ticklish because until now she couldn’t truly love him.
