Chapter 84: Hannah’s confession

At 11 o’clock, Damian had just finished his regular Monday eting. He walked along the tallic-toned corridor, reaching for his ringing phone in the pocket of his black suit.

"Jerry," he greeted upon seeing the caller’s na.

"Damian, I’ve got so information about Clara," Jerry said from the phone, causing Damian to adopt a serious expression. "Turns out she’s emptied her apartnt and gone to Las Vegas."

"Las Vegas?"

"I talked to my wife... We suspect she’s working with Samuel. I think she went to Las Vegas to stay in Samuel’s unsold apartnt."

"So you think Samuel is the one who sent her?" Damian stopped in his tracks.

"That’s our suspicion, you need to pretend you don’t know and remain calm for now. It’s better if you pick up Daniel... I can’t do it right now," Jerry explained.

Damian fell silent imdiately, feeling anxious, rembering Valerie’s mood last night. There was a reluctance to et her because he feared it would make him emotional, but he also didn’t want anything bad to happen to his son or even Tristan who would pick him up from daycare and might attract Valerie’s attention.

"By the way, my wife ntioned that today is Valerie’s birthday. I know you two are still mad at each other... But I’m sure she’s hoping for sothing special from you," Jerry said, snapping Damian out of his thoughts.

"I knew that, even yesterday I almost bought her a gift... But everything got ssed up..."

"You need to stay calm, okay... Go there for Daniel... And please don’t start an argunt... I’ll try to get Clara to admit who sent her... As soon as possible," Jerry requested with his calm voice.

"Alright..." Damian sighed, then ended the call. He looked ahead, imagining his encounter with Valerie, suddenly puzzled about what to give her as a gift.

"Argh!" Damian clenched his fists. "I don’t need to give her anything. Maybe she’ll reject it... She’s still very sensitive... I won’t talk to her!" He said with annoyance, then walked towards the elevator.

....

It only took about 15 minutes for Damian to arrive at the daycare, and it turned out that Hannah and Daniel were already waiting for him. He invited them to get into the car, with Daniel sitting on his lap so it looked like they were driving together while Hannah sat next to him.

"Is he coming to et Valerie?" Damian asked, driving slowly.

"Sorry, but who are you referring to?" Hannah asked back awkwardly.

"Samuel...."

"No..." Hannah imdiately shook her head with a faint smile. "He didn’t co at all... Besides, he wouldn’t co... He told

that he doesn’t care about Valerie anymore, even..."

"Even what?"

Hannah hesitated, full of doubt, wanting to ntion her relationship with Samuel, but worried it would make Damian dislike her because he didn’t like Samuel, which ant he wouldn’t use her as a spy. Then she wouldn’t get much money.

’but... If I tell him about this, he should feel relieved because Samuel no longer wants Valerie,’ she thought anxiously.

"Are you hiding sothing from , Hannah?" Damian asked.

"Um... I... I don’t know if this is good for you or not, But please don’t react too much to this," Hannah replied nervously.

"Just tell ," Damian cut her off, while Daniel held the steering wheel and kept staring ahead.

"I... I have a relationship with Samuel... It started when you and Valerie went to Korea. And until now we still have a relationship, that’s why I’m sure he doesn’t want Valerie anymore," Hannah explained.

Damian frowned. "Are you kidding?"

"No... I’m not kidding."

"I an... Are you sure he likes you?"

"Uh..." Hannah bit her lower lip. "I... I don’t know, but he seems to like

even though sotis he seems distant."

Damian fell silent, glancing at Hannah who looked innocent and less attractive than Valerie. It made it hard for him to believe that Samuel switched to liking her after always being obsessed with Valerie, and the thought worried him that everything might just be fun or even using her to always have a connection with Valerie.

"But please don’t tell this to Valerie," Hannah pleaded.

"Why? Did he forbid you?" Damian asked. "If he loves you, then he shouldn’t hide your relationship when dating you. It would be strange If he didn’t want Valerie to know about your relationship, it ans he’s just using you when he can’t get Valerie now... You should be careful with him... he..."

"He didn’t ask to hide this but I did," Hannah interrupted Damian before he could finish his sentence. "I’m still embarrassed to admit this to Valerie... Maybe she’ll laugh at ... Because previously Samuel wanted her," she continued, looking down as if feeling inferior.

Damian gave a slight smile. "So you think you’re not worthy of being loved by Samuel just because he previously loved Valerie?"

Hannah nodded slowly.

"Okay... You’re not wrong with that thought, because you’re more deserving of being loved by a better man than Samuel. You’re a good girl... innocent... You deserve soone willing to be open about your relationship. If he truly loves you, then he shouldn’t comply with your wish to hide your relationship. You can try to tell this to Valerie, or accidentally let her know about your relationship. You see Samuel’s response. If he gets angry at you then he doesn’t love you... But if he’s not angry and is willing to openly admit you as his girlfriend in front of Valerie or anyone else, that ans he’s worthy of you," he continued then turned his car into Valerie’s driveway.

Hannah fell silent, thinking about Damian’s advice as she ignored him and imdiately got out with Daniel.

Damian carried Daniel, his gaze imdiately fixed on Valerie walking from Tristan’s rental house yard, making him think that she had just t him, or even paid attention to him since earlier, then Tristan would use that mont to seduce her.

’Does she not want to marry

because of that damn guy? Does she like him, does she prefer him over

or even Samuel?’ He wondered to himself, filled with suspicion and jealousy.

"Mama..!" Daniel hugged Damian’s neck but his eyes were on his mother. "I’m with Dada... We will play with Dada!"

Valerie smiled, approaching them but her eyes seed to avoid contact with Damian.

’why did he co? Does he want to pretend to miss Daniel? Or maybe this is just to be able to et ?’ She wondered in her heart, feeling awkward to greet Damian.
