Chapter 59: We deserve to be happy

It was 5 p.m. Seoul ti, South Korea.

Valerie gazed at Damian, still asleep beside her, his arms wrapped around her waist, both of them wearing only a blanket around their waists. She stroked his slightly rough jawline as if pondering sothing.

"I think I rushed into this decision, but I can’t bear to see you struggle. Now I’m really afraid... What if your father finds out and makes a big deal out of it... How will I face this? It seems like I’ll sink deeper into fear, trauma..." she thought, full of regret and dilemma, her eyes welling up.

"Now what should I do? I don’t want to be away from you again... I can’t deny that everything feels easier since we got back together... My heart is a bit calr... I feel like I’ve found the direction for my future again..."

Damian slowly opened his eyes, furrowing his brows when he saw Valerie teary-eyed.

"Hey..." He imdiately cupped her cheek, wiping away her tears anxiously. "Why are you crying? Are you sick or..."

"It’s okay..." Valerie smiled warmly.

"No, you’re not okay... There must be sothing making you cry!" Damian said with a lancholic look, then hugged Valerie. "Please, whatever it is, don’t panic, don’t be afraid, just tell ... Don’t feel alone anymore," he continued.

Valerie closed her eyes, her tears flowing even more, but she tried to stop them. ’I’m just confused, I don’t want to ruin your happiness,’ she thought.

Damian released his embrace, looking back at Valerie. "Did my father call you?" he asked.

"It’s not about him," Valerie answered, then sat up, but Damian pulled her back down and hugged her from behind. "Damian, please... I want to shower now."

"I won’t let you go until you explain to ," Damian said.

Valerie sighed deeply. "It’s the past problems. I just can’t forget them easily, and now I’m still afraid... That’s why I’m crying," she explained.

Damian fell silent imdiately as if trying to understand Valerie’s answer.

"I’m worried that the decision I made will only bring new problems... Making

unable to find comfort and peace," Valerie said again, her eyes straight ahead, looking at Daniel still asleep. "We did plan to hide this relationship, but what if we get caught... Won’t it just make your father very angry with you... Angry with ? I think a father’s anger looks so terrifying... What if it has a bad impact on Daniel?"

Damian sighed, his eyes imdiately filled with hatred.

"If I hadn’t retaliated so far for your mistake, maybe the situation wouldn’t be like this," Valerie said regretfully. "If I hadn’t been too proud and hypocritical to admit that I still wanted you, maybe he wouldn’t have made it difficult for us to be together again, and maybe he wouldn’t have introduced that Girl to you... I was stupid..."

"You’re not stupid, you just followed your instincts... Everyone has their way of dealing with their traumas, and heartaches... And now it’s my responsibility to fix everything because I’m also the cause of this ss," Damian replied, recalling his foolish monts with Clara. "I will persuade my father to let us be together again when I successfully end my relationship with my career properly."

"What if he still rejects ?" Valerie asked.

"Who cares about that? We’re the ones in a relationship, we’re the ones living this life, we’re the ones getting married, starting a new family, not him... He has no right to forbid it," Damian replied firmly.

"But he’s your father, he’ll be disappointed when you oppose him."

"Good parents will allow themselves to be disappointed as long as their children are happy. Their happiness should co from their children’s happiness too, not by giving demands that will make their children suffer and not feel peaceful."

Valerie released Damian’s embrace and turned to face him, looking at him intensely and stroking his cheek.

"You don’t need to be afraid, especially since my mother still strongly supports our relationship... Just consider there’s no problem," Damian whispered, caressing Valerie’s cheek. "Don’t think about anything, I must settle everything... You focus on Daniel and your career," he continued with a smile.

Valerie nodded slowly and smiled, then kissed Damian’s lips briefly.

"You always know what’s best for , but I don’t know why that night you went crazy and made

crazy too," she said.

"That was the worst night of my life, and maybe it’s part of the test of our love given by God... And we passed it because now we’re together again," Damian replied calmly. "I love you... I love you so much..."

Valerie felt warm, calm, and srized, and imdiately kissed Damian’s lips while embracing his neck.

"Mmm..."

She moaned, feeling the ticklish and warm sensation caused by Damian’s touch on her buttocks.

"Hey..." She ended the kiss. "We’re not doing it again."

"But I want to!"

"But we can’t, we don’t have much ti because Daniel might wake up soon. Let

shower now," Valerie said calmly, while Damian pouted and hugged her so that their stomachs t under the blanket. "Damian... please. I want to get up and shower. My body slls like sperm..."

"10 minutes," Damian said with a smile, then kissed Valerie’s cheek. "I just can’t get enough of you. I want to be with you all the ti!" he continued, hugging her tightly.

Valerie chuckled.

"I guess I have to think about a lot of things for our future, especially the honeymoon... We’ll spend ti together without any disturbances from anyone, including Daniel," Damian said, glancing at Daniel sleeping on his side.

"So you want to exclude him during our honeymoon?" Valerie asked.

"Yeah... Just for a while..."

"When?"

Damian imdiately looked back at Valerie. "When do you want? If you want to know my answer, I want it now. I want to take you to the church, marry you, and take you to London, as we planned before."

Valerie smiled thinly. "You’re so enthusiastic."

"Because I love you..."

Valerie sighed, her eyes downcast as she looked at Damian’s chest. "I know... But we have to be patient. Rember what I said... We have to settle everything first and keep our distance... Don’t create chaos just to get what you want. Isn’t the stake your family company’s reputation?" She looked back at Damian.

"I know..."

"And please... Don’t buy my book for your family... Cancel that plan," Valerie begged. "You can buy my other novels for them, but not this one," she continued with a worried look.

Damian nodded calmly. "Alright, but I’ll buy one for myself. I want to see the first work of my sweet girl." He pinched Valerie’s cheek.

Valerie blushed, blossoming, unable to hide the relief in her heart. Hmm, if she knew how Samuel and Karina were boorangs for her relationship with Damian, maybe she would be more careful from now on.
