Chapter 53: Hannah’s lies

Hannah walked along the tallic-toned corridor, so large, passing rows of slightly wide-spaced doors until she stopped in front of door number 564.

"I need to make sure I still look pretty," she said, quickly grabbing her phone from her dusty bag, and then opening the front cara to check herself.

"Oh, my hair is a bit ssy!"

She tidied her long hair with her fingers, then applied the perfu she had in her bag.

"Well, I guess now I’m much better than Valerie," she said, looking down at herself in a dark green dress suit.

She put her phone away and promptly knocked on the door.

Within seconds, the door opened. She saw Samuel, who imdiately fell silent, staring at her so seriously.

"What?" she asked, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

"Nothing..." Samuel smiled thinly. "Co in..." He then entered the room.

Hannah smiled, following Samuel as he closed the door behind them.

’He must be captivated by ,’ she thought confidently, looking at Samuel as he continued walking until she stopped in the spacious middle room with modern and quite luxurious furniture, even a cabinet providing various drinks.

"Wow... He’s not too poor... This isn’t too bad," she whispered, watching Samuel return with two canned drinks.

"Hey, please sit down," Samuel said, approaching the grey sofa.

Hannah followed, sitting on another sofa.

"I hope you’ve had breakfast because... I don’t have any dishes for you," Samuel said, opening the canned drink and placing it in front of Hannah. "I don’t feel like doing anything; everything’s been chaotic since last week," he continued.

Hannah remained silent, watching Samuel take a sip.

"I’m not interested in knowing about her," Samuel said, licking his moist lips.

Hannah swallowed as if restraining herself from being tempted by Samuel.

"Why? I thought you wouldn’t stop pursuing her..." She asked nervously.

Samuel just shook his head, then took another sip.

"Is it because she didn’t tell you about her move?" Hannah asked.

Samuel glanced at Hannah. "You know that. As a man who has been with her for the past 2 years, my heart ached when she distanced herself from , not even telling

about her move, not even telling

her new address. It’s too painful... She treated

like an unused item, just forgotten," he said, then took another sip.

"I understand how you feel... You must be very disappointed."

"That’s why I feel lazy to chase her again because she doesn’t know how to appreciate

as soone who has always helped her all this ti... She’s not as good as I thought... I regret expressing my feelings to her... It makes

feel low..." Samuel sighed deeply. "She must be looking down on

now... She’s just using ..."

"And maybe she chose to distance herself because she has felt the luxury and ease of her life after eting Damian... Maybe there’s still love for him, and another reason is Daniel," Hannah said as if trying to make Samuel hate Valerie because she knew Valerie didn’t like Damian.

Samuel looked intensely at Hannah as if assessing her attitude.

"I don’t an to vilify her, but I’m also very disappointed with her attitude," Hannah said nervously, not daring to look into Samuel’s eyes. "I an... She shouldn’t have distanced herself from you when all this ti she’s been helping you. Yet, if she really can’t accept you, she could still make you a friend, instead of just leaving like that. She seems satisfied with going back to Damian so she doesn’t need you anymore... That’s a wrong attitude... As if she doesn’t think about how you feel, even though she knows that you care about her," she continued, then shook her head as if surprised by Valerie’s attitude.

Samuel smiled thinly and placed the empty drink can on the table.

"You don’t need to think about my feelings, I’m just a little disappointed, the rest I try to introspect," he said casually, leaning back on the sofa. "When she rejected , I shouldn’t have kept pushing her... And I shouldn’t have liked a woman who already has a child from another man... It would be very difficult for

to get her. Besides, I love Daniel, if letting Valerie return to Damian is sothing that can make him happy, then I won’t hinder," he continued.

Hannah smiled awkwardly, but in her heart, she said, ’What is this? Turns out he’s so good and accepts Valerie’s decision. That ans he will stop pursuing her. This is my golden opportunity!’

"What did you want to say earlier?" Samuel asked.

"Uh..." Hannah looked back at Samuel. "She... She just moved to a house not far from her mother’s house. It’s a house given by Damian’s mother. She said she wanted to move to avoid you and Damian’s father because she didn’t want anyone to disturb her relationship with Damian."

"Is that so?"

Hannah nodded with her innocent gaze, although she was a big liar!

"That fits my assumption," Samuel said with a sardonic smile.

"Even when she won the writing contest, she invited Damian to accompany her to Korea, to receive the award from the platform. So, now they’re in Korea with Daniel too... Maybe they’ll also have a vacation," Hannah lied.

Samuel sighed heavily, his hand clenched as if holding back emotions.

’So this is what you did to ... You’re an, Valerie!’ he thought.

Hannah realized the tension on Samuel’s face. "I didn’t an to disappoint you, but... But I just want you to realize that you shouldn’t keep hoping for her. You deserve a better girl who can appreciate your love," she said, furrowing her brows.

"It’s okay, I just didn’t expect she’d be like this," Samuel replied with a thin smile. "She’s not wrong... She’s doing what she has to do."

Hannah nodded.

"So, are you alone at ho?"

"Yeah... It’s very boring being alone at ho. So of my friends here are always busy, so they can’t spend ti with ."

Samuel fell silent again, glancing at Hannah’s legs up to her thighs, which looked white and smooth.

’She never dressed like this before. She looks attractive... Maybe I can take advantage of it,’ he thought.

"Um..." Hannah quickly grabbed the canned drink. "I should drink first." She imdiately took a sip.

"But it’s a bit intoxicating," Samuel said.

Hannah stopped drinking. "Intoxicating?"

Samuel nodded.

"Oh..."

"If you get drunk, I won’t escort you ho," Samuel said with a teasing glance.

"What... Um, why? Why wouldn’t you?" Hannah asked nervously.

"Maybe I’ll keep you here," Samuel replied.

Hannah imdiately swallowed, feeling strange with Samuel’s gaze and words.

"Do you think I’ll rape you?" Samuel asked.

"No..." Hannah shook her head imdiately, smiling shyly. "You wouldn’t do that. I’m just a babysitter, I’m not attractive to you... That’s not possible."

"But I’m interested in you," Samuel whispered.

Hannah imdiately gaped, looking at Samuel in astonishnt, as if surprised by his words.
