Ava had just landed when she received a call from Steve. She did not pick it up but collected her luggage first. The man did not call her again but left a ssage.
"Bring Alex only ho if he is worth it." Ava stared at the ssage for a long ti before shaking her head and collecting her things.
When she walked out, Alric was already waiting for her but this ti he was not alone. It took her only a second to notice Nora standing beside her. Her hands were wrapped around his arm.
Ava paused. She rembered a ssage Debra sent recently. She was going to be a grandmother soon. At that ti, she had thought Debra was fooling around.
But looking at Alric, the ssage suddenly ca to her mind again. Ava’s hold on the luggage tightened as she walked closer forcing a smile on her face.
Nora slowly let go of Alric. He walked closer to her and took her luggage. Holding the luggage from one hand, Alric hugged Ava.
"How have you been?" Ava watched Nora looking at them eagerly.
"I am good. Are you finally dating?" Alric went silent by the abrupt question.
Ava looked at Nora curiously. The girl adjusted her dress and walked closer.
"Hello, Mrs Spencer. How have you been?" Ava sighed and shook her head.
"Is that how you should talk to your mother in law?" Nora paused, hearing her stern tone. But the last word made her giddy. "Call mother already, your foolish child!" Ava pushed Alric away and took Nora in her arms. She sighed, feeling the warmth of a family.
When she raised her head, her eyes were teasing, "I never knew that you are interested in young girls, Alric. Is that why you never liked Amyra?" Ava paused when she felt Nora stiffening. She felt like a jerk to talk about Amyra the mont they t.
"That, Nora.."
"You need not worry, mother. I understand." She took the luggage from Alric and started walking. "You must be exhausted after a long journey. How about we talk in the car later."
Ava stared at Nora’s back. The girl was walking in a hurry. Guilt gnawed her chest and she looked at Alric with a worried look. Alric shook his head and patted her shoulders.
Wrapping his hand around her shoulders, he guided Ava toward their parked car.
"Where are we going?" she asked as she sat in the back with Nora while Alric took the driver’s seat.
"My place! You need not return until Alex is back." he offered knowing well that Ava would reject it. Ava frowned imdiately.
"We can go ho instead. Alric, you have found a girlfriend now. Do you want her to stay in a hospital? No matter how many anities that place had, it did not have the privacy and comfort of a ho." she chided him. Nora watched as the duo complained to each other.
Who would believe they were not real mother and son.
Ava noticed Nora;s gaze and dim eyes. She shifted uncontrollably in her place.
"So, Nora.. you are in the school with Alex right?" Nora nodded at once and sat properly.
"You must have t Alric for the first ti when you brought Alex to the hospital. I was very surprised when Debra told he is dating a student. Alric is hard to speak with. He is reserved and cold. I was worried that he would die single. But I am glad that he has found a good partner for himself. If he ever bullies you or worries you, you can co to . I will scold him for you." she took Nora’s hand in hers and whispered the words sincerely.
Nora blushed as she nodded her head.
"I will co to you whenever I will be bullied by my mother." Alric looked at her in the mirror. His eyes softened yet he feigned pain.
"Mom! Are you telling that you will scold for her? Are you already taking sides?" Ava laughed along and teased Alric.
"Why not? I have always wanted a daughter but god only gave two trouble making sons. Now that he has finally sent a daughter, it is only right for to pamper her. Yet you dare to bully her!" she scolded him with a frown only for him to sigh.
"So I am already abandoned huh?" He raised a brow and turned to look at them during a red signal.
Ava dramatically pulled Nora in her arms as she looked at Alric smugly.
"Or else? Do you still want to cling to your moher when you are planning to be father already?" looking at Alric’s stunned face, Ava laughed leisurely. "Do you believe that I will not know about it? Debra had bombarded with ssages since morning. She could not have enough of you two." Nora blushed hearing about it. Her grip on her dress tightened while her face went red.
Alric laughed softly and started the car again.
"Then she must have told you that she was sending to prison for those thoughts. She strictly refused to plan a family for half a decade." Ava frowned. She looked at Alric and then at blood dripping Nora’s face.
"That is too long. I am sure Nora could give birth in two years. Right?" Nora lowered her head further. Voice left her body. She felt like she was going to faint.
"Forget it! We should plan your marriage first. Nora., inform your family that I want to et them whenever they have ti." Nora started silently. Looking at the eager eyes of Ava, she did not know what to say.
She took a deep breath to collect the right words to explain but Alric beat her to it.
"She did not have a family mom. We are her family. So as long as you push her in my bed, I will give you two kids to play with. What do you say?"
