Victor knew that he could bump into Nora if he returned to school. But it was the thrill of eting her again that he returned.

He had called her so many tis only to know that she had blocked his number. He had gone to her house only to be inford that she shifted places. These days it was hard to get even a glimpse of her.

He had been looking for her everywhere yet, he could only hear about her from others. But after the collapse of her family, the desire to et her had intensified.

As he climbed the stairs slowly and held the door of their classroom, he suddenly felt nervous. He could hear their chatter. He could recognize that voice anywhere.

He took a deep breath and pulled the door. Nora was standing with Lucy and Emma. They were laughing over sothing. When the door opened, Nora turned to look at him.

He held his breath when their eyes t. Her eyes widened and an emotion flashed into them. But it was gone before it was there and she looked away coldly.

Victor felt his hand tightened on the door. He ignored her and walked to his seat.

The teacher was not there. Students were talking about their project, about their entrance and university choice and long break. About upcoming exams and how their dreams are just an inch away.

Every voice was unbearable. Every word hit him like a hamr. People paused and gasped when he stood up with force. The chair screeching on the ground brought attention to many. No, he could not act like strangers.

He went straight to Nora. "We need to talk."

Emma stood in between as she glared at Victor. "You!" but before she could say anything, Nora held her hand.

Emma paused and looked at Nora in confusion. Nora shook her head.

"Let’s talk outside." Pleased with her reply, Vicor nodded at her and followed her.

Nora walked into the hallway and stopped in their canteen. The large canteen only had a few tables filled. They took one in the secluded corner. One, two, ten minutes passed but Victor did not speak. Nora kept watching her but when the bell rang, she sighed.

"I need to return soon." Only then did he et her eyes.

"Why?" his voice accusatory, "is it because of Langdon or Alric Spencer?"

"It is because of you, Victor." she shook her head, sighing. "You have changed. Or you were always like this yet I had not noticed. No matter what the reason is, I do not want to continue the tornt anymore.

You are with Langdon and I am with Alric. The matter ends here." She stood up but Victor held her hand before she could leave.

"It will not end just because you want it to. Damn it!" his grip was hurting, "i will not let you go. There is nothing ongoing between and Langdon. She is just an employee working under my father. Nora.." he sighed and rubbed the bruised part of her waist. "I only have you in my heart."

"Yet you kissed her and went to her house when she invited you." standing opposite to his strong voice, her voice ca low, calm and sweet. "While I was waiting for you, you ignored . Even when we talked, you were either scolding or blaming for the tension between my family. I am sure you still think it was unfair to them. Right?"

"...." Victor froze. He had doubts that Nora was behind the misery of her family. He had heard that so many tis from Langdon and others in the newspaper and school that he had unconsciously held her liable. But now..

"Why would I care about them?" Nora laughed. Her voice had left him bare. His face flushed instantly.

"You can offer them help if you want, Victor. But I do not want to live with a man who doesn’t trust . I need to go." she pushed his hand away and he did not force her this ti.

He only watched her leaving back with complex emotions.

Emma was waiting in the corner. She had fild the scene for her boss. Though guilty, Emma knew it was for Nora’s safety. Alric would never harm her.

Once Nora left, Emma blocked Victor’s path again making him frown.

"If you keep following her, I will complain about it." she warned him, making him frown and amused at once.

"And what will you say to the police?" looking at his provoking eyes, Emma only chuckled.

"Why do I need to go to the police when I can complain to Mr Spencer. I am sure he is more dangerous than the cops."

"....." Emma knew she was disclosing her identity. But looking at his pale face, it was all worth it.

"Go on and I will tell Nora your truth too." EMma laughed looking at the heartthrob of the school. The man was pathetic in her eyes.

"Go on! Alric does not like her like you." she shrugged and left Victor alone. As the words sunk in his mind, Victor kicked the table in front of him.

He had imagined that she would be angry and it would take ti to win her again. But looking at his blank eyes, he knew that the fleeting emotion had lost. Their burning love was gone like smoke while he remained as the ashes.

"Nora.."

"It has been an hour, if no one is coming to take our class. I am leaving ho already." a man frowned as he looked at the ti in his expensive watch. Many frowned and stared at the door.

They have been waiting for more than an hour. It had never happened before. Even when they were out, they did not see staff.

"Did you not hear it?" a girl looked at everyone with gossipy eyes. "The staff struck against the school’s managent. They want Mr Stone to leave the managent or they would not work here anymore."
