Nora sat on the sofa and took out the files. Placing it aside, she took out the batteries from her pocket and replaced it in the recorder.
Honks could be heard as soon as the audio started. Many cars were moving at once. Alric entered the room with a glass of warm milk in his hands. He paused when he noticed her face covered with sweat. She was biting her lips hard and digging her nails in her arms as she had curled herself on the sofa.
He could hear the strange noises coming from the recorder. Before he could ask her, what was it?
"We are almost there, boss. The target had no chance." And then an accident was heard. An explosion strong enough to shake Nora completely.
She fell from the sofa, shocking him.
"Are you alright?"
"Mission is completed, boss. I have recorded this audio for your entertainnt. Hahahaha." a man laughed loudly as they heard the door of the car opening.
Footsteps could be heard for a mont before the man stopped.
"My daughter.. Nora."A soft whisper that could be missed easily in the noise was heard clearly by Nora. her body quivered badly.
It was her parents. Her uncle has killed her parents. Her eyes were so bloodshot that Alric felt bad for the girl. Most of the ti she was so strong but now, she looked on the verge of breaking apart.
He crouched on the ground and wrapped his arms around her. Nora struggled. She punched him hard to get rid of the hold. But he kept holding her.
"Bastards! They killed my parents. They killed them." Alric closed his eyes hearing her gut wrenching shrieks.
Nora shouted hard as if she had lost all her senses. She kicked in the air and punched while her voice started to break.
"And we will take revenge. We will return the pain to them. They would suffer more than your parents had. I promise you that." he wrapped his arms around her tightly as her body kept trembling.
Slowly her struggles started to lessen and she wrapped her arms around him in return. As if he had heard her soft pleas.
Alric tightened his grip around her when she sobbed in his arms.
How much ti had passed when they finally moved. Nora looked like she had no life left in her body.
He held her in his arms after so hesitation. But she did not struggle. She stared at the stopped recorder listlessly.
Alric placed her on the bed and passed the glass of water to her but she did not move. As if she could not see him. He sighed, looking at the dead look in her eyes.
"The company belongs to your father? Your uncle wanted it so he killed your parents?" It was nothing new in this cruel world. Yet, he felt his blood boiling for so reason.
Her eyes finally flickred and she turned to look at him.
"I will kill them too. They would beg for their deaths." her eyes did not demand confirmation. Yet he nodded and held her hands in his.
Her arm was dripping blood. But he was sure she could not feel it. Her lips were swollen and her eyes were red. He noticed how she was watching him warily now
"Do you have a plan? If you need help, I have contacts." her eyes narrowed.
"Why would you help ?"
"I have thought about sothing I can ask in exchange. Take it at the price I am offering." Nora’s eyes narrowed. A dark cold frown settled on her face.
"Then... I need your contacts. Tomorrow Penny would be broadcasted for her new advertisent. It was another video to be broadcasted at the sa ti. No matter what, the video should not be taken down. Can you do it for ?" hearing the desperation in her voice, Alric nodded at once.
"You will not ask what kind of video is that?" Was she too suspicious of his actions? He could see how she was looking at her expression and laughed.
"Why would I care? That family is your enemy. Anything you do to destroy them is less. If you are afraid that I will judge you or backstab you, I have no reason to do that, Nora. not everyone wants to drag you down." Nora looked away. She was not embarrassed that her thoughts had been read.
But she looked relieved that he had confronted them and explained himself.
"I understand. You know, we can sign a contract for your safety. If you help with my revenge, I will fulfill your every condition in exchange." Alric raised a brow. Her torn skirt was barely hiding her thighs now.
She had pulled her shirt to take out the files. It was falling off her shoulders. The girl had no self awareness from the start.
As if her respect, her body ant nothing to her. And now..
"Are you not afraid that I could ask anything?" his dark eyes lingered on her body. Nora was not a fool to not understand his intention. But she only laughed.
"I have nothing to lose. Even if you ask for the company I acquired or all my wealth, it is just a small price. But I know you hardly lack money.
And as far as it is about my body. It is worthless in my eyes. Even if you ask to warm your bed, I will do that without any regrets." Alric stood up at once. For so reason, he felt burnt.
His body was so hot as if she had thrown molten lava on him.
"You! Have you ever said sothing like that to soone else?" his eyes narrowed and he groaned. Damn it! What kind of a girl she was! "Forget it, you are not in your senses. Rest here and devise a plan. I will co later." he took a step toward the door. But then he returned.
"Nora, the first condition is.. You will never offer any part of your body to anyone. Even your fingers!"
