"You only need to read the docunts and then give a summary of it to Mr Benard when he returns. The words might be hard to understand so tell if you need any help." Anna explained as she took the seat beside Nora.
Nora only smiled looking at the condescending look on Ana’s face and started reading the papers. Ana narrowed her eyes and scoffed.
Since she did not need help, I would not offer it. With that, she stood up and left Nora alone. Nora read the docunt easily. This was nothing but a piece of cake for her. But even after finishing, she pretended to read the file while her mind began to wonder.
Benard would be here any minute and she would assist him all day. He had already shown his interest in her. If he accepts, her aunt would fix the marriage before she beca an adult. How could she turn the situation this ti?
Benard like naive girls! Girls he could win over! Girls who treat him as a god so that he could destroy their dreams, their hopes and show them what a devil he was!
"Nora.. your boss is here." soone shook her with a frown. "Are you spacing out on your first day of work?" looking at the censure in the eyes of Ana, Nora stood up without replying.
"Ha! If you keep this attitude, it would be hard to make friends here. You are not a heiress of a wealthy family here, Nora. you are just an employee like us." Ana rembered when Nora adjusted her dress and picked up the files.
"So you do know that we both are equal in position?" looking at the knowing smile on Nora’s face, Ana’s heart skipped a beat.
But before she could reply, Nora walked away. Taking a deep breath, she knocked on the door and entered.
Benard had taken off his coat. He was standing at the window with a cigarette in his mouth and phone in his hands. His face looked grim as he rarely added a reply.
When he noticed soone, he turned to look. His eyes flickered when he noticed Nora standing there in the attire of a secretary.
"I will call you later. Mail the rest of the details." Benard cut the call and walked closer to Nora.
"I never thought we would et again this soon. When your aunt asked if she could choose my next secretary, I never guessed she would be this considerate." he chuckled softly, with a glint in his eyes.
His smile could have swept away many girls. That cherishing look on his face, as if she was the only one in the world, it would have made her heart flutter.
"I am an amateur sir." she tucked her hair behind her ears with an embarrassed look. "I am afraid I will make your work suffer." the man laughed at her innocent actions. Who needs her here for work.
"Oh darling, you can be as inept as you want. I will teach you slowly. Co, tell about your first task here." Benard walked to his seat and offered her the seat in front of him.
Nora nodded and walked with a nervous smile.
"I am here to report to you about the next eting." She passed the file to him. "It states that the Sheldon group..." Nora intentionally made a few mistakes. But she explained the details professionally, surprising Benard. He was expecting a stamring girl with red cheeks and then he would comfort her by squeezing her hands or pressing her thighs. It felt as if she had done it hundreds of tis already. how?
"Did I make a lot of mistakes?" Benard blinked as he looked at her face full of expectations. The naive smile on her face made him shake his head.
What was he even thinking! How could Nora have experience? She is a naive girl waiting for his praise. If he told her the presentation was bad, it would be bad.
"Nora, I am sure you will learn. First ti is always hard so you do not need to take it to heart." he closed the file and stared at her hands resting on the table. But before he could reach for them, she moved them away and wiped her face with them.
His face stiffened for a second before he picked up the glass of water and passed it to her.
"But you have worked hard. And that matters. You should learn slowly." Nora wanted to laugh. The presentation was flawless except for so small mistakes.
"Of course I will, sir. But can you guide personally?" she blinked her eyes sweetly and bit her lips.
"Hmm?"
"I an, would you give a presentation on the sa topic so that i could understand my mistakes?" Benard paused. Giving the sa presentation?
It would prove that she had done it fine!
"That is a good way to learn it, but Nora. I have a eting in half an hour and I still need to go through the docunts since you have not explained it clearly. I will explain them to you later. For now, you can return to your seat. You will follow for the eting in half an hour." Nora smiled and left the room without a question.
She noticed Ana waiting there with a smirk on her face, but she ignored the girl. The mont she sat on her seat. She let go of a deep breath. Her body trembled slightly. She was able to face Benard! She did not break down when he tried to touch her? Thankfully, goodness! Oh good lord! She could finally take her revenge on him.
Her body trembled with gratitude and emotions. Ana misunderstood it as a failure and smirked. She returned to her seat to gossip about the new girl.
Nora ignored Ana. She took out her phone and played a ga on it until Benard returned to look for her.
"Darling, are you ready for your first eting?"
