Nora stretched her body. The bed was softer than she had imagined. The room though did not et her character was full of luxury and comfort.
Why did David give it to her? He did not care about his image. She had created so much gossip and rumors but the PR team of his company had always made sure the rumors disappear before they get highlighted. So it was not for his image.
To show soone? But who? Did he know about her relationship with Victor? But he was never part of a gaming company. Her uncle even comnted that it was a worthless business a few tis when she had promoted it in the past.
Then what.. She must know it. And there was one person who could help her. After resting for half an hour, she changed into the best dress from her new clothes and went to et Penny.
Penny was sitting in front of the mirror and rehearsing a few taglines. It stopped Nora when she heard the na of Blue Corn Juice. This was the Banned company she was targeting. Penny was working for them?
But she had not worked for Benard in her past life. How much has the past changed?
"What are you doing here?" Penny noticed Nora and glared at the girl. But when her eyes fell on the dress Nora was wearing, Penny scowled.
"Ah, I was only here to thank you." Nora rubbed her hands on the dress. "I love it. I heard that you and aunt had chosen it." Nora walked inside. "I never knew that teaching you your place would be this helpful, or i would have shown you a mirror a long ti ago."
"...." Penny was stunned. She was expecting Nora to beg her when she returned. After all, whatever was given to her was nothing but charity by her parents.
"You! You! I will tell my mother about this. I knew a venomous snake like you would not change." Penny hissed in a cold voice.
Nora smirked as she walked in and closed the door. Even if there would be hidden caras all over the palace, there would be none in Penny’s room.
"You can do that or much more. But it would not change that your father needs . Or else he would not have been putting so much effort? What happened? Have you disappointed him so much that he had no choice but to rely on ?" Nora raised her brow. Her indifferent face was full of ridicule and mockery.
Penny felt like her chest burnt. She lunged at Nora and slapped her hard.
"Slap!" a loud and crisp echo filled the room. The maids who had co to check up on Nora were stunned and opened the room at once. "You pathetic being. If not for you seducing n here and there my parents would have never brought you back. They are fools to believe that you would bring benefits for the family. If only they knew your true form!" Penny was shaking with rage and hatred.
She was the princess of this house. She had already bowed her head by letting Nora share the luxuries. Yet this ingrate orphan did not know gratitude.
So it was n! Could it be Kane? David was trying to flatter that old man. But why? He had more worth than Illuminate? No!
"Young miss, co with us, madam is calling for you."
"Where are you taking her! Return her and beg for forgiveness or you are not going anywhere!" Penny glared at her. Now that they were at her house, she was not afraid of public image or reaction of others.
Nora was so arrogant after getting support. Now she would teach her a lesson.
"I.." Nora shivered, lowering her head as if she did not know what to do. The maids panicked. They were told to stop Nora and Penny from fighting. But it was not fighting, it was one sided bullying.
Penny only felt more confident looking at Nora’s trembling. She was sure it was the result of her slap. Nora must have realized there were no students to help her too.
She held Nora by her hair.
"You were being so arrogant before! What happened now? Do you not want to brag anymore you leech! You are nothing but an orphan living in my house, eating what we offer you."
"Penny! That is enough." Sophia heard the commotion and ran to their room. If Penny would be injured, it would show on her face or in her actions at the dinner party tonight. She could not take the risk.
"Mother! You do not know what she has done. She.."
"Did you not hear ? Let her go." Penny glared at her mother feeling unjustified. But in the end, she pushed Nora away.
Nora swayed and stumbled and fell on the ground. Tears filled her eyes and she started crying.
Sophia closed her eyes, cursing. She did not feel bad at all for Nora. she wanted to scold her to stop her drama. But she had to act like a kind woman. They have to convince Nora. if she really had a relationship with the Spencer family!
If it was a lie, she would personally teach this wench a lesson!
"Nora, Penny did not do it intentionally. She is just angry because of your past behavior. So stop being so stubborn alright?" she sighed and spoke in a gentle voice as if she was cajoling a child, "and Penny, you are not a child anymore. You can not throw tantrums every ti you want. Nora had returned ho. That is all that matters." She helped Nora in standing up.
"Nora, Penny is busy. You co with , I need to talk to you about sothing." She dragged Nora out of the room. Nora lowered her head and nodded obediently but her eyes darkened. She had intentionally fallen near the sofa to confirm. Penny was working as a model in the new advertisent of Blue Corn Juice company.
