"You still have the guts to say sothing, Nora!" gan laughed with a cold sneer on her face. "I must have underestimated your guts."
"..." Mr sumr looked at Nora in question. But when he did not notice any hint of guilt or embarrassnt, his confidence rose. He knew that the girl had the power to flip the situation.
If given a chance, she could flip heaven and earth.
He frowned imdiately at overbearing gan.
"Miss Sinclair, even principal Kai said that she must be given a chance to speak. Are you trying to overstep his powers?" his cold words imdiately stopped gan.
She panicked and stared at the principal and noticed him frowning.
"I never ant to do so, sir! I was just infuriated that the girl had no sha. Please forgive ." she bowed her head imdiately and beca silent. Inside the table, her hands were clenched into a fist.
Even she was afraid of Nora’s powers to convince others. What if the girl opened her mouth and changed the story completely. She stared at the watch. It was almost an hour and Jack would be here soon.
Consoling herself, she nodded.
"Nora, you have sothing to say?" The voice sounded too calm and unhurried to gan. Shouldn’t a principal be extrely busy when other schools are going to visit theirs? And be cautious! What if the girl’s affair created a bad image for the company. But to her, the principal looked leisurely. If he had to wait for a whole day to listen to Nora’s story, he would.
It imdiately made gan gloomy.
"That night, I applied for leave before going out." Nora spoke in a calm voice. "Though I already had the permission to leave the dorms, I still completed all the formalities. But when i went out, my cab driver took to an abandoned place and there two n attacked .
I struggled but one of them took out a knife and injured . I was unconscious for two days in the hospital. Only yesterday I gained consciousness and was discharged today. I did not have the condition to contact anyone in the school.
But I did not know that strange rumors would be following once I returned. If you have any doubt in my story. You can call the police station or hospital to confirm it." her soft and clear voice was like spring water.
She did not stutter or looked panicked as she explained her circumstances. The teachers gasped.
"Nora, are you alright?" Mr Sumr was the first to ask as he scanned her body again. She was wearing a turtleneck oversized top and denim. Not a single part of her body was seen, so he was not sure where she was injured.
"Ha!" gan let out a hollow laugh. Though she was feeling panicked inside, she could not show it. "That is an impressive story you made! But why would strangers attack you? You neither have wealth nor beauty. What could they get from you?" her hostility made many frown. But they did not speak. They stared at the principal instead.
"Even if it is a story, I have proof for it. What do you have to ruin my image, Miss gan?" she spoke softly without feeling a least bit offended. That assured gan that she was lying.
"I knew the man you ran away with. I have contacted him many tis in these three days to know about you. But he only returned my call today. He told that you both had a fight. You got injured in a hit and run away. He is coming to take you back since you belong to him now." a look of disgust filled her face.
But many stared at her oddly. The girl had already said that they could verify from the police bureau.
"He told you that he injured ! Why did you not tell about him earlier?" Nora narrowed her eyes at Miss gan. Her lips frowning slightly.
"Because I was too embarrassed. I only wanted you out of the hostel Nora. I do not want to ruin your life. If needed, I would have protected you from him." Her voice was filled with disappointnt and an elderly feeling for her family. It confused a few of them. Could it be that the man had injured Nora, and Nora lied in the hospital to save her image.
Nora could see confusion in their faces. Her lips curled into an amused smile.
"Then, did he tell where he injured ?" she leaned and asked softly with a hint of worry.
gan bit her lips. She scanned Nora’s body again. But there was no way she could know where she was injured. Or she had just lied to trap her.
"I did not ask for details. It was embarrassing already. But he will be here soon, so we can ask for details. But Nora, think about it. If you apologize now and promise to not repeat your mistakes, we can end this matter here." she offered with a sigh. Her hands ca to hold Nora’s hands.
She looked like an elder caring for younger ones. Many stared at Nora, even the principal nodded with the solution.
"Did it not an that I am accepting your allegations? Since I have all the proof and witnesses. What is the rush? Let the man co and tell his part of the story." Her lazy voice and relaxed attitude made gan grit her teeth.
She hated this girl. If looks could kill, Nora would have died a hundred tis already by gan’s glare.
"Sir! No matter what they both speak. It is a fact that Nora had disappeared for three days without information. It is enough to ban her from the hostel." she pressed the matter looking at Principal Kai. but the man shook his head.
"If she is unconscious in the hospital, this leave did not count. You can not expect a patient to co and inform you first or ask for a leave. Do you?"
