Nora took out a phone from her pocket and played with it. The screen lit and a cute picture of Penny was on the screen. Emma’s eyes widened. Others might miss it, but she could not.
"When did you take it? Why didn’t I notice?" she could not accept it. She was trained to steal things, to see unseen. Yet Nora was better at this ga.
Nora quirked a brow looking innocent.
"What are you talking about?" she blinked, making Emma sigh.
"You are a waste here. Join us and you will have a bright future." she folded her hands in front of her chest and further leaned on the chair looking at the empty stage.
Others had noticed it too. Nora was gone for too long. They were chatting about random things but now they were staring at the door and then at their watches.
Kate noticed the frowns too. The anxious girl stood up and went to the back door but she was stunned to see that the door was locked!
"Penny! Are you okay?" She knocked on the door a few tis.
Penny jumped on the other side. She looked at the door with anxiety and then held Ethan’s shirt.
"What do we do now?" her voice was full of panic. "I have worked so hard for it. I could not believe it would fail. Not only could I not harm Nora but I will lose my image too. This couldn’t happn to . Where did I go wrong?" Ethan sighed. He looked at the ss of the room and ran a hand in his hair.
"It was not a coincidence, Penelope. Soone had intentionally ruined my phone and these wires. Even if we continue, who knows what they will do next. It would be best if we stop for now." Penny’s eyes widened as she looked at him with shock.
But he placed his hands on her shoulders and gently massaged them.
"Tell them you are sick. Soone had mixed sothing in your water or so. You could not co out. Give them a next date. Share notes with them already and tell them you will teach them one subject each day. I will co here daily to accompany you. We will make it better than today." His voice was low and calming. Penny had closed her eyes at so point and sighed.
"I guess we have no choice." Pennu nodded. It had been a long ti since the door was knocking.
Penny ran a hand in her hair to spoil her perfectly combed hair and splashed a few drops of water on her face and clothes.
When Penny opened the door, she looked disheveled. Her eyes looked red and she covered her stomach with her hands.
"I do not know what happened." Penny whispered to Kate, leaning on the young girl. "But my stomach is.." before she continued, her eyes widened and she ran inside again.
This ti she was in a hurry so she did not close the door. Kate followed her confused and saw her entering the washroom and then the sound of vomit and all.
She frowned. Wasn’t Penny alright just half an hour ago.
"Soone must have mixed drugs in her water." Kate turned to look at that handso boy again. Their eyes t and she blushed when he smiled at her.
"She was fine when we talked before. But now, she is vomiting or.." he shook his head. "Soone must have mixed sothing in her food or water. Or why would she be like this in such a short amount of ti?" he sighed. "Soone is targeting her.
First that video and then change in notes and now this! Don’t you think it is too much of a coincidence?" his voice was loud enough to echo in the empty room.
Many sitting on the front heard him and looked at each other. As if on cue, they all turned to look at Nora. But Nora was sitting with her eyes closed. Though they had doubts, they did not see her moving.
"We can not continue today." the man sighed and added when the dumb girl did not reply. "She is too sick to continue. But she is stubborn and would not go too. So you go and announce it to students, before she cos out."He walked closer to Kate and pushed her out of the room.
The small touch made Kate blush. She cleared her throat and nodded.
"Alright." many had already heard their conversation. But their mood still soured when Kate stood at the podium and apologized to them.
"I am very sorry. But suddenly Penny is feeling unwell. She could not continue this. But I will provide you with these notes so that you can study them yourself." she offered when Ethan nodded.
"And if you have doubts, and Penny will take an hour daily to clear them." he added, taking the mike from Kate. he was standing behind her. She could feel the heat of his skin and it made her blush again.
She had seen many handso n before but Ethan was leaving tingles on her skin.
"Ha! I can not believe that you did it!" soone could not bear it anymore. They stood up and glared at Nora.
"How did you do this? Do you have no sha?" repeated soone.
As if they all were waiting for soone to initiate it. They all started shouting at once and glared at Nora. The room suddenly turned chaotic. They all accused and cursed Nora for being so cruel and selfish.
"You must be jealous of your sister. But do you have no sha? You are just a leech living with her family, yet you target her! Could you be any more vicious?" a girl cursed Nora hard. She was a good friend of Penny and was currying favor.
Nora finally opened her eyes. She smiled at all of them but her eyes were deathly cold as if she would devour their souls.
"You think I have drugged her and made her sick! Ha!"
