More students ca and the room filled. "I am dimming the lights so that everyone can concentrate on the screen." Penny’s voice sounded better now. But her eyes were still red and she stared at Nora with longing eyes as she spoke.
Since everyone was looking at Penny, they noticed her actions and sighed in their hearts. A few of them even felt that she was being absurd. She should just ignore her sister.
But they soon forgot about it as Penny sounded serious and gave Kate instruction on the number of the file.
At Penny’s instructions, Kate pressed a few buttons and language questions started to appear on the large screen that had covered the whole wall.
Each question was clear enough for them to read and make notes. Though Penny had promised that she would distribute a copy, they still wanted to make notes tonight.
"Kate, you have already arranged everything well. Why don’t you go and eat sothing? My mother had sent the best snacks." Kate stared at the table of snacks. It was almost empty. If she waited..
"But the screen!" Kate looked at the screen uneasily. "It is alright. This test paper would continue for twenty minutes. It would be a waste if you do not utilize that ti. After all, you have not eaten anything after waking up. I would have co with you, but I still need to explain a few points." Penny sighed as her face looked guilty.
How could she even doubt such a kind girl? Kate felt guilty too.
"It is alright. Then I will be back soon." She licked her lips and ran toward the snacks table.
Penny shook her head with an amused look. With a better smile, she continued explaining the notes. Her voice was sincere and many felt admiration for her. It was easy to be nervous when facing so many students. But Penny was cracking jokes and laughing. Her lodious voice made study fun too.
Many enjoyed the way she explained those notes. They all nodded and noted everything while looking at her with eyes full of worship.
They did not notice how Penny was staring at the podium from ti to ti as she adjusted her hair or drank water.
When it was ti to change the file, Penny discreetly looked at the door. Her eyes are uneasy.
"Umm, Kate. Can you tell how to do it? It must be easy right?" Kate frowned. It was less than fifteen minutes. She had thought it would take a long ti! But looking at Penny fumbling with the buttons, she sighed.
"Let do it." she wiped her hands with her dress earning strange looks from the crowd and ran toward the computer.
She pressed a few buttons and the screen changed. But it was not notes that played on the screen. It was a video of a girl hiding in the dark and writing sothing.
"I have already paid you enough to stop Nora from coming to the class. All you needed to do was to push her on the stairs. How could you fail in such a simple task?" though the face was not clear. Everyone recognized the voice. They have been hearing it for half an hour.
But this ti, the voice sounded so malicious and full of hatred. Penny was stunned for a second. It was not the video she had paid for. It was her video! Her eyes widened and she stood in front of the screen but her fra was too small to hide the full screen.
"Who had done this!" she scread. Only then did Kate return to her senses. She pressed a few buttons and the screen turned blank but the video was still playing on the computer screen.
This ti the face was clear and Kate had noticed it was indeed Penny. She had a malicious look on her face. The computer’s voice was drowned in the noise of the room. But Kate still stared at the screen as if she was in trance.
For so unknown reason, her heart pounded and Nora’s words repeated in her mind. The young man who was standing on the door ca there and took the laptop from Kate. only then did she return to her senses.
She noticed how Penny was glaring at her and the man was frowning at her.
"Let handle this from here." his voice was icy that Kate took a step back instinctively.
"This.. this is a trap to hurt . I apologize that everyone had to hear my fake voice." Penny accepted in front of everyone. If she had lied or ignored it then everyone would have doubted her.
But she confidently faced the incident earning a nod from many.
"Of course it is a fake voice. If you would not have cleared, I would not have guessed that it sounded like you in the first place." a girl shouted. She had hoped that many would support her if she would initiate but many only stared at her oddly.
Only a few supported her and expressed that it was fake.
"It doesn’t matter who that voice belongs to. Penny, can you start the next file already." a young boy with spectacles asked with an impatient voice.
Penny gritted her teeth but she was also relieved that they do not want to continue the matter.
"Yes, of course. We have all co to study here. Ethan, will you help please." the young boy nodded and pressed a few buttons. Another docunt opened up.
This ti the questions were from political science and humanities.
"If you excuse for a minute and read by yourself. I promise that I will explain this part later." Penny wiped the sweat off her face and followed Ethan on the corner.
Many understood and nodded. A few sneered and joked while many frowned. Language was the easy part but they needed explanation of many questions when it ca to other subjects. But they could not force Penny after what happened.
"What should i do now?"
