Penny stared at Nora the mont she entered the class bringing a sneer on Nora’s face. The girl tried hard not to show it but she was stealing glances with anticipation. Nora could not believe that she was oppressed by these people! If she had found a way to earn and separate herself from them in her past life. She shook her head. There was no point in thinking of the past. A bright future lay ahead.
She walked to her desk and opened it to put her books but frowned. And then all at once her face went pale. When she took out her hand from the desk, it was soaking with blood.
"Shit! What is that Nora?" a few students beside her gasped and shouted. Nora looked horrified. She opened the desk and her face went ugly. She covered her mouth with her other hand and ran out of the class.
"Miss Nora! Where do you think you are going?" the teacher bumped into her and shouted. But the girl sniffled loudly and ran away.
"What is happening in the class?" Miss Harper frowned as she noticed a group standing in front of Nora’s seat.
They all looked at each other. In the end, a boy replied.
"Soone had placed a dead rat on her desk. She touched it and then ran away." Miss Harper’s face went dark instantly.
"How funny! Your art of making jokes is improving day by day." but she did not know who did it, so she could not continue scolding. "Forget it! Call for help and let them clean. All of you take out your assignnts, and bring them to my desk. Those who failed will take extra classes this weekend."
Penny lowered her head. Finally a smirk forming on her lips. She was too stunned for a second but then... that new girl is rather powerful. She stealthily took out her phone and sent a ssage to her new friend.
"Well done! That is much better than I thought." She was only expecting a fww insults of jobs from the other class. But who would have thought, Penny added, "if you continue this way for a week with different thods, Penny would personally call you to ask for friendship. But do not tell her that you did this. She is too kind and would be angry instead. As her fans, we should handle the dirty work."
On the other side, Nora was sitting on the toilet seat with phone in her hands. A sneer on her cold face as she read the ssage.
"Of course, anything for my goddess. You just wait and watch." cute emojis displayed on her screen once she sent the ssage.
She walked out, cleaned her hands, washed her face and returned to the class with a pale face. The teacher only scowled at her and demanded her assignnt.
After submitting it, Nora walked to her seat but paused. She looked ashen.
"Forget it, you can share the seat with.." Only two seats were empty in the class. One beside Victor and other beside Alex. The teacher hesitated, "Victor."
Nora nodded softly and took the empty seat. Victor passed him a bottle. Showing gratitude, she took a sipe.
"Do you know who did this?" he whispered once the teacher started writing on the board again. Nora shook her head. She held the pen and continued writing. Many looked at her with sympathy but many sneered as if she deserved it.
"Are you okay?" Nora wanted to laugh. After watching her own body soaked with blood, would she care about a dead rat? She still nodded her head softly, making him sigh.
For him, Nora was putting a brave front that lted his heart.
"I have brought the latest ga to test. Co play with in the computer room for a while after the classes you will... it will inspire you to make changes in your ga too." computer room! Her eyes glead and she thanked him again for the offer.
"Nora!" the teacher scowled, "write an article on how to be a model student twenty tis and submit it to tomorrow." Many laughed at her expense but Nora nodded with a sincere look making the teacher doubt if she went too far. After all, the girl might be afraid and Victor might be soothing her!
The classes went smoothly after that. Nora did not leave for lunch with the excuse of study. She sat in the class alone.
"Ha! She must be scared to leave her seat empty now." soone whispered in the crowd and many laughed. Victor looked at her with unease.
He wanted to stay and accompany her. But he was afraid that it would bring more rumors on her plate.
"I will bring an apple for you." he left after so hesitation. Nora took out her mobile and started working on the papers Alric had sent her.
It contained a detailed list of the companies that bribed the food and regulation departnt to block their products pointing to low quality. It was because they both were launching the sa flavor juice in two weeks.
Though MoJo Ltd was a small company. It had recently earned a good deal with Alric’s chain of hospitals. It must have alerted the company.
Nora stared at the "Chris Benard" na for a long ti. She was not ready to go against him right now. She was still too weak. But if she took a step back, he would trample her again in this life.
She hesitated for a long ti before closing her eyes.
"Not again! Not in this life." She started making reports diligently and added a few nas to it. Then she dialed a number, she had never thought she would,
"I was not expecting you to call again, little girl. Do you want a refund again?" a bored voice ca from the other side that made her clench the phone tightly.
"I have a new task for you instead of a refund, I want you to find dirt on this person. He works as the chief consultant in the food regulation departnt."
* I have made the na of the departnt myself. It performs quality checks on all kinds of food and beverages before they get permission for production.
