"Do you want to take the ingredients and stuff back ho first?"
"No way, I'm super hungry right now!"
"Wait, didn't you just eat a bunch of stuff before coming here?"
"But I'm hungry again."
On the streets of the South Ward, Yan Huan poked the straw into the bubble tea she had bought for him.
After taking just one sip, Yan Huan couldn't hold back a grimace. He quickly held the cup away and inspected the label on it.
"What the hell? It's so sweet it's choking . Extra sugar?"
Yan Huan swallowed a mouthful of saliva, initially thinking she was pulling a prank on him. However, upon turning his head and seeing her completely innocent and unapologetic expression, he realized that wasn't the case.
Whenever this girl did sothing bad, she would show a very obvious guilty conscience. She was incredibly easy to read.
'So, she really drinks it this sweet?'
"What's wrong?"
"...Don't you find this stuff sickeningly sweet?"
"Not at all. The ones I used to drink at ho were all this sweet. Honestly, since coming to Linn, everything I've eaten has tasted so bland."
Spencer glanced at Yan Huan, who was looking at the "calorie bomb" in his hand with hesitation, and gave a soft snort. She then reached her hand out toward him and said,
"Then let
drink it. I'm starving to death anyway."
Yan Huan glanced at the straw he had just drunk from. He was about to point it out, but on second thought, considering how many tis they had already kissed, why would they care about sothing indirect like this?
Yeah, Yan Huan had done it again last night.
Just thinking about her lying right beside him, staring at him with those eager eyes... anyone who could resist kissing her would have to be a divine person.
The Kiss God's effect had been triggered for another day. The random buff given today was "Resistance Boost," which felt far less useful than a massive enhancent to his physique.
"Here, take it."
With that in mind, Yan Huan stopped being overly particular and generously handed the bubble tea over to Spencer.
After taking it, she held it in her arms without any hesitation, opened her mouth, and began to suck on the straw.
"Slurp."
She happily drank her bubble tea, humming the the song of Angry Little Pigs as she sipped.
Looking at her bright, smiling face, Yan Huan couldn't help but smile as well.
However, he still reminded her,
"You'd better eat less of these super sweet things in the future."
"Hmph, no way! I'm not even fat."
'She actually knows that eating sweets makes you fat? Not bad.'
Yan Huan led Spencer to a hidden gem of a restaurant he had kept to himself for a long ti. It specialized in roast beef, mostly in the style of Ying Country.
The portions were large, the flavor was excellent, and it was highly popular among the locals of the South Ward.
"Boss, do you have a table for two?"
"Hiss, there's nothing left inside. You two will have to sit outside."
"Alright."
Just as Yan Huan and Spencer sat down, picked up the nu, and ordered a few of the signature roast ats, they began the boring process of waiting for their food.
Spencer took out her mobile phone to continue playing her little puzzle ga, while Yan Huan simply kept looking at her.
After watching her for quite a while, just as he was about to take out his own phone to scroll through so videos...
Beside them, a man whose eyes were subtly tinged with a vacant pink hue suddenly stood by Yan Huan's table.
He stared blankly at Yan Huan, then suddenly asked,
"Excuse , are you Yan Huan?"
"...Who are you?"
Upon hearing this, the man glanced at Spencer, who had cast a curious gaze over, before leaning in a bit closer to Yan Huan and whispering,
"There is sothing regarding the Jinshi Group that I would like to discuss with you privately."
"..."
Sure enough, Spencer's mother had been secretly sending people to keep an eye on Spencer.
Yan Huan narrowed his eyes, looking at the plain-looking man before him, and then glanced at their street-side surroundings.
After pondering for a mont, he decided to stand up.
Seeing that Spencer was also about to get up, Yan Huan stopped her, saying,
"Spencer, wait for
here a mont. I'll be right back."
"Alright, but co back quickly."
"Mm."
Yan Huan stood up and followed the man toward the other side of the alley.
As the distance between him and Spencer grew wider, Yan Huan finally spoke to the man in front of him,
"I know you guys chose to let Spencer run away from ho just so she would complete the procedure to restore her academic status on her own. Even though the goal has been achieved, you could at least give
the chance to treat her to a al before you take her away, right?"
"..."
"Or perhaps, does Spencer's mother have a ssage she wants to pass on to ?"
"..."
Hearing this, the man remained completely silent, simply continuing to walk deeper into the alley.
That unwavering silence, combined with the increasingly remote and quiet surroundings, caused Yan Huan's brow to slowly furrow. His body involuntarily tensed up.
"Whoosh."
In the evening, the pink rays of the setting sun were soft. A sweet and coppery sea breeze blew past, stirring up an intoxicating sense of comfort.
Following the pink light of the sunset, Yan Huan caught a sudden glimpse out of the corner of his eye. A small employee badge from the ride-sharing platform Mber was gently swaying on a keychain at the man's waist.
Yan Huan turned around and left, his figure vanishing into the narrow alleyways.
This forced Spencer, whose eyes had been tracing his back view, to retract her gaze. However, she didn't resu playing her ga either.
As she drank her bubble tea, she began to vigilantly scan her surroundings.
"Spencer..."
In the very next second, a faint call seed to pierce straight through the crowd, falling directly into Spencer's ears.
The surroundings suddenly plunged into utter silence. Only the pink light of the sunset illuminated the earth, dyeing the world in an unclean ambiguity, much like neon lights.
But at this mont, night had not yet fallen.
Upon hearing the sound, Spencer's pupils contracted. She forgot that she still had the straw in her mouth as she imdiately whipped her head around to look toward the source.
The straw pulled the cup of bubble tea off the table, sending it crashing heavily onto the ground.
"Smash!"
Milky white tea, mixed with tapioca pearls, spilled all over the floor. In an instant, the bustling sounds of traffic and pedestrians rushed back into her ears.
The sweet and coppery evening breeze brushed past her ears, but there was absolutely no one over there.
"..."
'Phew...'
'I'm just scaring myself...'
Just as Spencer breathed a sigh of relief and turned her head back around, An Le, dressed in her school uniform, was suddenly sitting right in front of her. She had no idea when she got there.
The conservative Yuan Yue school uniform struggled to seal her proudly magnificent chest, which was evident from the two desperately straining buttons over her bosom.
If paired with her previously shy, dodging gaze and her slightly flushed face, it would evoke an irresistible cuteness that made one want to bully her.
But right now, that cuteness was entirely non-existent.
Because An Le was staring hollowly at the spilled bubble tea cup on the floor.
"Eek!! An... An Le?!"
Spencer's expression shifted slightly, though she wasn't frightened enough to jump up. She was just sowhat surprised.
However, a second later, that surprise gave way to a guilty conscience when she noticed the other girl staring at the bubble tea cup on the ground.
"W-Why did you co to the South Ward? Don't you live in the Luoqiao District?"
"I also want to ask why I'm here. Spencer, don't you live in the Kyogo Ward? Why are you here?"
An Le's eyes, fixed on the cup on the ground, continually reflected the scene from monts ago.
She had watched helplessly as Xiao Huan handed the bubble tea he had just drank from to Spencer, and how Spencer had taken the straw Xiao Huan's lips had touched into her mouth without any hesitation.
'As I thought...'
'Spencer said she was going to help
pursue Xiao Huan, but in reality, who knows how long she's been ssing around with him behind my back, or how much she's already done to him...'
"I..."
Confronted with this question, Spencer averted her gaze slightly with a guilty conscience.
"An Le, that day, it was actually because my mama didn't agree to let
stay at school. That's why I chose to run away from ho to go find you."
"And then what? After you left
that day, you had nowhere to go. Where did you stay?"
Upon hearing this, Spencer's expression froze slightly once again.
Feeling those eyes staring at her like twin ghostly flas, she hesitated for a mont but ultimately chose not to lie.
"At... at Yan Huan's place."
The instant those words left her mouth, the surrounding temperature seed to imdiately plumt by several degrees.
But Spencer seed naturally warm-bodied and didn't feel it as obviously.
She simply gritted her teeth, bravely turned her head back to look at An Le, and continued to explain,
"At the ti, I... I wanted to make things clear with you! At the very least... I didn't want things to end up in this confusing ss. I..."
"I've always treated you as a friend. In the beginning, I genuinely wanted to help you pursue Yan Huan, but... but..."
An Le continued to stare at the milky white tea spreading across the floor and asked back flatly,
"But?"
Spencer initially still wanted to say sothing, but seeing the completely unmoved deanor of the girl before her, she finally understood a worldly truth that no one had ever taught her before:
Not everything can go back to being perfectly fine like at the end of a cartoon.
It was just as An Le had said.
She clearly knew that An Le liked Yan Huan, and she had explicitly promised An Le to help her pursue him.
Yet she had still forcibly kissed Yan Huan, and now she was even living together with him.
Furthermore...
She had no intention of giving up.
At that thought, Spencer pursed her lips and said, full of apology,
"I'm sorry, An Le..."
Upon hearing this apology, An Le's rigidly still expression finally showed a slight shift.
She slowly turned her head to look at Spencer and gave a hollow, dazed smile.
"You don't need to apologize, Spencer."
"..."
"The only person who truly owes
an apology is myself..."
An Le took a deep breath of murky air, spread her fingers, and said quietly,
"I was always too cowardly, harboring fantasies about other people. If I had been just a little more proactive, perhaps things wouldn't have ended up like this."
"An Le, don't be like this..."
Spencer was about to speak again, but An Le suddenly cut her off.
"I have always been too kind to all of you, allowing you to treat my goodness as a weakness that you could trample upon and ignore at will..."
Upon hearing this, Spencer paused slightly. She watched as An Le's hollow eyes stared blankly at her, her face completely blending into the sunset light that had turned entirely pink.
"Don't worry, I won't do that anymore."
"Thrummmm."
A feeling of extre chill instantly surged into her heart. Before Spencer could even react, her blonde hair beca incredibly dazzling.
That long golden hair was like a suit of armor designed to resist everything, isolating any supernatural forces that attempted to harm Spencer.
Except at this mont, bathed in that pink evening light, that armor instantly beca covered in dense, spiderweb-like cracks.
"Crack, crack, crack!!"
A piercing shattering sound rang out. Imdiately after, a surge of pleasure aggressively pierced straight through Spencer's body.
Spencer's expression shifted slightly. She uncontrollably clutched her lower abdon as her face flushed deeply.
"Ngh..."
"Thud!"
Spencer's body went limp, nearly tumbling out of her chair. She hurriedly reached out to brace herself against the table, causing the table to let out a sharp, resonant clatter.
"Hah, hah... An Le, what... what did you do?"
Feeling the discomfort in her body, Spencer's eyes trembled. She lifted her gaze to look at An Le in utter confusion.
Only to see that An Le was looking at her own hand with a slightly bewildered expression.
'The amount of pleasure I poured into Spencer shouldn't have just resulted in this tiny effect.'
'But indeed, the feedback from Spencer so far is only this much.'
'Just what exactly is going on?'
Just as An Le was questioning why her pleasure manipulation—an ability she could only use a few tis a week—was having such a limited effect on Spencer, and prepared to raise her hand to activate it again...
As Spencer beca dazed and eroded by the surging pleasure, a pair of ox horns automatically materialized on top of her head.
Without needing a command, the ox horns abruptly emitted an invisible wave that instantly enveloped both An Le and Spencer.
An Le stared at the golden ox horns faintly appearing on Spencer's head. Before she could voice her confusion, her mobile phone suddenly rang.
She looked down and saw a sudden ssage on her mobile phone from her mother.
"Daughter, when is that classmate of yours, Spencer, going to co over and play at our house again? Mama misses her."
"..."
An Le's pupils contracted. Gritting her teeth, she was just about to text back when the keyboard seemingly started typing on its own, completely out of her control.
"Okay, I like Spencer the best too."
"!!"
Imdiately after, it wasn't just the keyboard; the clothes on her own body began to tighten bit by bit, as if they had betrayed her and were stopping her from continuing to hurt Spencer.
"Ring, ring, ring!"
A call ca through. The caller ID na reading "Father" was glaringly obvious.
Before An Le, whose entire body was now restricted by her clothing, could respond, the mobile phone traitorously answered the call on its own.
"Daughter, why don't we let Spencer co live at our house from now on?"
"Let her sleep in your room, and you can squeeze onto the couch."
"That ti she ca over to play was really fun. Father wants to see Spencer again."
Listening to the voice coming from the other end of the line, An Le's hollow eyes were finally completely engulfed by rage.
"Crack, crack, crack..."
In the very next second, her left eye, which was fixed intently on the mobile phone, slowly transford into a pink, vertically slit pupil.
Following that, the skin below her neck seed to be swallowed up by snake scales, turning extrely pale.
The body below her neck instantly lost all sensation. She couldn't even feel the clothes, shoes, and socks that had betrayed her anymore.
Soon after, a tentacle—completely invisible to others, just like Myau-chan—violently extended out from behind An Le.
"Hiss..."
The sound of a white snake flicking its tongue rang out. The ox horns on Spencer's head sensed the terror of that tentacle and began to project their transparent waves even more vigorously.
But this ti, the tentacle was completely unaffected.
It belonged entirely to An Le, and no matter what happened, it was sothing that absolutely could not be taken away.
"Crack, crack, crack, crack!"
"Spencer!!"
Just as the milky-white tentacle behind An Le abruptly rose and shot out toward Spencer...
Yan Huan's shout suddenly echoed from the other end of the alley, causing An Le to freeze for a mont.
"Hah... hah..."
Yan Huan's expression was tight with panic as he sprinted madly, rushing back the way he had co.
Behind him, at the end of the alley, the driver had collapsed unconscious on the ground. It seed he had fought a brief battle to try and stop Yan Huan.
However, he was completely no match for the fiercely powerful Yan Huan who had just kissed Spencer. He had been taken down in just a couple of moves.
'He's not from the Jinshi Group, and his condition was really weird...'
'A Modifier!!'
Originally, Yan Huan hadn't harbored a single doubt that Spencer's cheating-level Modifier could easily thrash the others. After all, even Ye Shiyu had suffered a loss fighting her head-on.
Had it not been for crushing Spencer with superior intelligence during the Club War, there really wouldn't have been any way to deal with her.
He was only afraid that the two sides would fight to the death, continually ramping up their desire and spiraling their powers endlessly upward in the process.
But when Yan Huan turned the corner of the street and ran back, what he saw instead was Spencer slumped limply over the table, utterly crushed and devoid of any power to resist.
And around her, aside from the spilled bubble tea cup on the ground, there was absolutely no one else.
"Spencer!"
Yan Huan sprinted over in a panic. Even Myau-chan materialized on his shoulder with an expression of sheer disbelief.
"ow?"
The mont Yan Huan ran over and touched her, Spencer went completely limp and collapsed into Yan Huan's arms.
She panted continuously, her body temperature was bizarrely high, her face was flush red, and watery ripples shimred in her eyes...
Yan Huan was just about to speak up in concern, but in the next second, Spencer cast a dazed look over him. Once she confird it was him, she finally couldn't hold back any longer and threw her arms around his neck.
"Yan... Yan Huan..."
The following second, she tilted her head up and kissed Yan Huan fiercely on the lips.
"..."
Yan Huan paused, stunned, his pupils suddenly contracting in shock.
