"Hey, Tianyu, co and join us."
Just as Luo Xiao was about to continue further down the streets, he heard his na being called out. The voice was friendly and energetic, and seed sowhat familiar.
Looking back, Luo Xiao found that there was a group of five youngsters from the Gu family that had gathered in front of the restaurant that Huo Yu had just introduced.
Smiling politely, Luo Xiao changed his path, and took the three followers with him towards the group that seed to be waiting for their turn to enter the restaurant.
"Hello." Luo Xiao's voice was as gentle as usual, and he politely cupped his fists when greeting the young masters from the Gu family.
His mannerism was polite and in no way overbearing. It was clear that this young man was a true gentleman, and his behavior also caused many of the young ladies walking down the streets to take an extra glance.
"We managed to get a private room at Jinbao Restaurant today, and we were here a bit earlier than the appointnt. Brother Hu will co by later as well, so why don't you and your followers join us?" The one who spoke was a young man from the sa generation as Tianhu and Luo Xiao. He was, as far as Luo Xiao rembered, the grandson of one of the Elders of the Gu family, but he seed to be hoping to build a good relationship with him.
Luo Xiao used to be very innocent and unable to understand the nurous intrigues and sches that were part of the many upperclass families, but after his ti within Cloudsoar City, he had realized many things and quickly guessed that this young master wanted to befriend him after seeing the attention he had gained from both the Patriarch and Gu Tianhu.
"Thank you for your kind gesture, if it is no trouble, then we would like to join in." Luo Xiao had contemplated for a brief mont before he accepted the invitation.
He had, initially, not been interested in joining this group for dinner, but after considering that he would be living in the Gu family for so ti, he understood that he needed to give face to the other young geniuses. They had to get along in the future, after all.
While Luo Xiao was polite and showed appropriate gratitude, so of the other experts waiting in queue were not impressed by his deanor. A few snorts and sarcastic comnts about being greedy for good food could be heard here and there, but no one dared to be over the top, and Luo Xiao seed to have not heard their voices.
"Brother Tianyu, don't mind those people. They only complain because they are jealous. They also want to go from being an orphan to beco the Young Master of the Gu family." Another mber of the group spoke out, but while it sounded as if he was on Luo Xiao's side, the words were still sowhat harsh and everyone could hear how he had targetted the past that was supposed to be unbearable.
"It is fine." Luo Xiao's expression still held a gentle smile and there was no unhappiness evident in his expression. "Their mouths are theirs to control. As long as they can handle the consequences that usually follow when maligning a person, they can say whatever they wish."
Although Luo Xiao's voice was gentle and did not seem aggressive in any way, everyone suddenly felt a chill running down their spines. They had forgotten that although this Gu Tianyu was an orphan, he still had plenty of family mbers to back him up. According to rumors, Gu Xingyu was feeling so guilty toward this nephew that he was willing to give him anything good. They did not doubt that they would suffer if word of today reached the Gu Patriarch's ears.
Ye Chao and Ye Feng were still standing expressionlessly behind Luo Xiao, but they both felt sowhat smug whenever they noticed how a simple sentence like this could stumble and frighten so many experts. It was a completely different kind of horror than what the ruthless and cold Jiang Yao could bring, but the gentle killer was in no ans inferior.
"Brother Tianyu!" Just as the atmosphere was getting awkward and no one knew how to improve the mood, a loud yell reverberated through the street, and a powerful young man approached happily. Gu Tianhu had arrived.
"I heard the servants say earlier that when they went to invite you to have a al, you had declined, saying that you had so plans already. How co you appeared here anyway?" Gu Tianhu was sowhat confused, as he had personally sent servants to invite Luo Xiao before, but they had returned with a rejection.
However, it was not only Gu Tianhu who was confused. Luo Xiao raised an eyebrow in amusent. It seed that he had already insulted so people within the Gu Manor.
"I am sorry, there might be a misunderstanding involved in this. I had nothing to do, so I brought my guards out for a stroll." Although Luo Xiao did not directly say that soone had sched against him, everyone with a brain understood his words, and Gu Tianhu got sowhat frustrated.
However, he soon reined in his emotions and a smile spread on his lips again.
"Well, let us just ignore the details and enjoy the good food. This Jinbao Restaurant is really worthy of its na, I am sure you will enjoy the food." Gu Tianhu was smiling happily, but a sharp flash was passing deep within his eyes. He had to investigate when he got back ho.
