Chapter 735: Chapter 82: The Finger Bone
On one side, there’s the Da Chu Yang God, who, despite being strained to the limit, strives to save everyone from disaster.
On the other side, there’s the most promising young genius of Da Chu, radiant and full of potential.
How should one choose?
For a mont, the Earth Abyss was silent and deathly still. The countless Yin Gods on the Treasure Ship fell into silence.
Until a low rumbling sound echoed from above.
Only then did everyone return to their senses.
They looked up.
The words “Bai Ze,” like a ghostly gate, had unknowingly arrived overhead. Two towering giants stood firm, slightly parting the colossal gate of the Secret Tomb, water swirling violently, pulling the Treasure Ship to continue its descent, plunging into the boundless dark abyss—
…
…
Blackness.
Pitch black.
The entire world was pitch black.
A short ti ago, Xie Xuanyi awoke from such darkness, beginning his second life. Now he stood silently in this boundless darkness, quietly observing the towering giant before him.
The Crown Prince broke the barrier with [King Hunting].
Xie Xuanyi, following the guidance of his Heart Lake sensing, did not draw his sword, but instead, plunged into the Earth Abyss.
Who could have imagined?
Beneath the South Border, there lay such a Demon Saint Secret Realm?
The Earth Abyss crazily absorbed Primordial Energy.
Fortunately, Xie Xuanyi had already ford a complete Tao Realm, otherwise falling here would surely be quite embarrassing.
At this mont, where Xie Xuanyi stood, strands of Annihilation Dao Realm unfolded, coalescing into an inky blackness darker than the abyss beneath his feet, covering the surface of the great lake like a sheet of ice.
He gradually moved forward.
After growing accustod to the darkness, Xie Xuanyi ignited light fire with sword energy, the slight hissing sound heralding the fierce burning of Sword Intent, barely illuminating this dim world.
He saw the words “Bai Ze” high above.
And he also saw the solemn standing of the towering giant.
Most importantly…
He sensed the chaotic Primordial Energy here.
There had once been Da Chu practitioners here.
And not just one.
From the mont [Wind Cutting Realm] was ford, he was isolated from the outside world. During the ti the Crown Prince was trying to persuade him to join the Li Kingdom’s camp… Xie Xuanyi heard quite a commotion of fighting and killing.
His Heart Lake was now quite heavy.
Outside, sothing terrible might have happened.
“Have those people from Da Chu already been here?”
Xie Xuanyi silently frowned.
He slowly raised his head and used sword energy light fire to illuminate the stone gate of the Secret Tomb.
Xie Xuanyi was sowhat surprised; he saw a rather familiar phrase.
[“If one attains the Dao, one wishes to be buried in the North Sea, to feed the tortoise, to obtain great tranquility for tens of thousands of years.”]
This sentence.
In the Beihai Tomb, he had seen it once before.
However, this ti he saw its latter half.
[“… If one does not attain the Dao, then discard the bones to sleep, let the Heavenly Dao collapse, and do not disturb my rest.”]
A year ago, chaos erupted in the Qing State, unveiling the Beihai Tomb.
Chen Jingxuan blocked all news.
Until the Beihai Tomb shattered did the various Holy Lands learn the inside story… Many felt regret; for countless ages, people searched for Bai Ze’s hidden treasure. If they had discovered the Beihai Tomb, they would never have given it up so easily. Chen Jingxuan traded the Beihai Tomb for the coming prosperity of Da Chu, but many more would have chosen to devour this fortune themselves.
“Discard the bones to sleep… bones?”
Xie Xuanyi reached out and touched the Demon Text, the latter half of the ssage stirring his Heart Lake.
A year ago, the Beihai Tomb’s ergence caught the attention of the Demon Race’s Great Venerable. At that ti, Xie Xuanyi, under the alias Jia Liu, obtained the “Bai Ze’s finger bone” treasured in the Erosion Sun Swamp.
After the chaos ended.
This finger bone was not taken by Chen Jingxuan.
But was left with him all this ti.
This finger bone contained Great Saint bloodlines, extrely precious. Demon Saint Secret Tombs often required “blood resonance,” so back then, Jia Liu brought it to Lichao City as a “key” to open the deepest layer of the Secret Tomb… Unfortunately, when the upheaval occurred, the Beihai Tomb changed. Over long ages, the [Taoist Pen] left by Bai Ze Great Saint broke free, shattering the rules laid down by the Demon Saint, so the finger bone didn’t fulfill its purpose in the Beihai Tomb back then.
But now, it’s different.
If this truly is Bai Ze Secret Realm, then this section of finger bone…
Might really beco a “key”!
Thinking of this, Xie Xuanyi took out the half-section finger bone from the Sword Qi Cave Heaven.
“Rumble.”
The water was turbulent.
The Earth Abyss as usual.
Holding the finger bone, Xie Xuanyi stood before the giant gate, silently waiting for a mont. The dried-up blood within the finger bone seed to resonate with this space… but it did not lead to any mutation.
The towering giant did not awaken.
The words “Bai Ze” hanging in the sky did not suddenly transform into a magic robe or holy crown falling upon Xie Xuanyi.
Even the crack in the towering giant gate did not widen the slightest bit.
“Surely it doesn’t need so strange incantation?”
Xie Xuanyi laughed at himself, shaking his head.
He put away the finger bone, lifted his foot, and prepared to step into the gap of the giant gate.
But before he left.
Xie Xuanyi suddenly looked up, gazing upward.
The words “Bai Ze” stood high above, like a blood-dimd dark sun in this pitch-black abyss.
…
…
The raging undercurrents crashed against the reefs, casting layers of dim, shimring light.
Xie Xuanyi raised his head and stared at the scene at the heavenly peak, the lake water reversing, flowing back, and finally slowly condensing into a crystal-clear orb.
The orb hovered above the mist of the pool water.
“…”
Lu Yuzhen, with his naked body, imrsed in the pool, silently watching this scene.
“Is this Xie’s intuition really this sharp?”
The pool was filled with bright red petals.
Behind Lu Yuzhen, a pair of snow-white jade hands were rubbing, and the owner of the jade hands was equally unclothed, kneading and massaging, her voluptuous body tightly pressed against Lu Yuzhen’s back.
Chi Wu also watched that orb suspended in the air.
At this mont, separated by a distant distance, facing “Xie Xuanyi,” Chi Wu’s voice was full of astonishnt.
“Sword cultivators are always like that, especially the one I chose.”
Lu Yuzhen chuckled lightly, “Although this boy’s current realm is still shallow, his strength is already formidable. Ordinary illusions can’t trap him; even the slightest danger can’t escape his Heart Lake sensing…”
“Xie Zhen is indeed a sword genius unseen for a millennium.”
Chi Wu blinked, took a deep breath, and laughed, “As you expected, the Crown Prince failed in his talk with him… Next, it should be our turn…”
“Actually, everything we do is futile.”
Lu Yuzhen spoke calmly, “He won’t join the Li Kingdom, nor will he join the Paperman Sect.”
“?”
Chi Wu was taken aback and hadn’t expected to hear such a reply from the Daoist Lord’s mouth.
Having followed the Daoist Lord for so many years.
In Chi Wu’s heart, the Daoist Lord had already beco an omnipotent existence. In Pure White Mountain, the Daoist Lord was literally a “god.” No matter what, as long as the Daoist Lord said he could do it, Chi Wu would resolutely choose to believe… The Paperman Sect had made nurous arrangents for today.
Everyone knew that the Daoist Lord appreciated Xie Zhen, and everything the Paperman Sect did was to make Xie Zhen join Pure White Mountain.
But Chi Wu never thought—
The Daoist Lord never actually believed Xie Zhen would join this camp.
If so.
What was the arrangent for?
“There are so people in this world who will change.”
Lu Yuzhen seed to have mind-reading abilities, though he hadn’t turned his head, he clearly read Chi Wu’s thoughts.
Soaking in the pool, his voice was lazy and weary, “People who haven’t experienced betrayal may foolishly choose to trust for a lifeti; those who haven’t experienced despair will not choose destruction for no reason… Xie Xuanyi now still has the Da Sui Sword Palace, still has Lotus Peak. He still has many people worth cherishing, he won’t choose betrayal, nor destruction. If the scene from the North Sea ten years ago were to replay, it would only stir the anger in his heart.”
Chi Wu stared blankly at the Daoist Lord.
Anger…
Soone like Xie Zhen, once angered, would do what?
Probably would wish to tear the Daoist Lord to pieces, smash Pure White Mountain, destroy everything?
“Actually, I just want to see him angry.”
Lu Yuzhen looked at the orb and laughed gently, “Anger is the strongest thing in the world, it can swallow everything, and can destroy everything… After two lives of cultivation, the current Xie Xuanyi is not strong enough, he still lacks one thing, and that is enough ‘anger.'”
Chi Wu remained confused, still lost, still unable to understand.
But it didn’t matter.
What the Daoist Lord said was all truth.
Words that can’t be understood just need to be rembered.
Chi Wu silently bowed her head, gently and submissively leaned against the Daoist Lord’s back, using her body temperature to dissolve the chill inside this shell… Wu Zhexian’s war intent on the Great Dao was too fierce, seemingly hot, but actually bone-chilling cold, Chi Wu’s body trembled slightly, and the petals in the pool gradually drifted apart.
From the bottom of the pool surged fresh red blood, spreading into ripples.
Lu Yuzhen let out a soft, pleasant sigh.
“Lord Taoist.”
Chi Wu’s eyes were full of pity and compassion, her voice still carried so resentnt, “You shouldn’t have been so careless… If you had taken this battle more seriously, how could you have been hurt this badly…”
“You underestimated the opponent.”
Lu Yuzhen shook his head.
He smiled and said, “Qin Ancestor doesn’t have many years left, this longstanding martial arts destiny of Great Chu must find a new successor.”
“Wu Zhexian?”
Chi Wu’s beautiful eyes showed a look of surprise.
What is Qin Ancestor’s identity? He is the unquestioned top-tier power in the world, an individual holding the national destiny, after the coup in Moon Hidden Realm, Ren Shou Palace weakened and punished many major families in Northern County, yet the Qin Family wasn’t affected at all, because of Qin Ancestor’s existence.
“Fine things in the world are never firm… Colored clouds scatter easily like brittle glass.”
Lu Yuzhen’s eyes were full of regret, softly muttering, “This martial artist is outstanding in every way, just a bit stubborn, if he had nodded, how would he have perished, lost his path?”
“The man deserved to die, daring to wound you so gravely.”
Chi Wu murmured, “…In my view, nothing is more important than your safety.”
The pool fell silent for a mont.
Woosh woosh.
Lu Yuzhen slowly stood up.
He turned, looking down at the bewildered and confused woman before him…
Chi Wu beca tense.
She knew she had misspoken, committed the cri of overstepping authority.
However, Lu Yuzhen did not get angry, instead, he gently reached out his hand, placing it softly on Chi Wu’s head, stroking her hair.
“Little Chi, I’m still alive, aren’t I?”
Lu Yuzhen smiled and said gently, “As long as I’m alive, nothing is a big deal.”
…
…
(PS: 1, There’s still one more update. Don’t stay up waiting. 2, I personally really don’t want to communicate with readers in a spoiler-like manner, but this plot is actually different from what everyone thinks. If it was just a routine copy, would I have stayed up so late every night? Also, for those complaining about the protagonist not appearing, in the original outline the clues are very clean and straightforward, almost directly connecting with Xie Xuanyi’s scenes, but when I outlined it, I already foresaw, writing like this would only invite more criticism and misunderstanding, so I deliberately added more angles, more secondary storylines… It’s futile to say more, if you feel the reading experience isn’t good, maybe accumulate and read later.)
