Jordan Hawthorne listened to Brooke Sinclair’s request, hesitating slightly.
The AI Tech Summit, he had already been reluctant to let her attend.
The Pharmaceutical Conference, however, truly gathered the gods of the pharmaceutical world. The theft of formulae had just occurred not long ago. He genuinely feared that if Brooke went, she might again be besieged, dragging the Hawthorne Group into it once more.
After thinking it over, Jordan still politely declined, "If that elder from The Rowan dical Sect really attends, I’ll find a way to converse with them and extend an invitation later. Negotiation might not be your strong suit."
Brooke’s expression stiffened.
How could she not hear the underlying rejection in Jordan’s words?
But she was unwilling to stay silent.
The Sinclair Family might have declined, but she was still Jordan Hawthorne’s woman.
In the future, she was destined to beco the Young Madam of the Hawthorne Family.
In the upper echelons of Veridia, she would eventually have her place. She would go out and make her presence known.
Recently, the circle hadn’t held back from belittling her.
She wanted to go out and show everyone that even without the Sinclair Family as support, she was still more dignified than the rest!
With that in mind, Brooke clutched the corner of Jordan’s coat, her expression pitiful, "Jordan... do you think it’s embarrassing to take out? Rest assured, this ti attending, I have no other motive but to seek a cure for you.
I trust in your negotiation skills, but the elder from The Rowan dical Sect is an exception. He’s eccentric and unpredictable; conventional thods might not work.
However, I gathered so of his preferences. He greatly appreciates those with outstanding dical abilities and has considerable research on ancient dical skills and herbal dicines.
Although I accidentally ssed up the previous company project, I’m definitely better than you at identifying herbs. After contacting him, I might cater to his interests, make him happy, and naturally, he’ll agree to treat your leg, without a doubt.
So... will you take , please?
If not, I can disguise myself as a service staff mber."
By the end, her voice was tinged with sobs, and her expression seed full of grievance.
Even with his vast considerations, Jordan was slightly moved.
For his leg, Brooke was willing to go to such an extent. Regardless of other matters, this sincerity was sothing he could not refuse.
Soon enough, Jordan compromised, "No need to impersonate a server. I’ll take you with . If any rumors arise, I can handle them.
"
Brooke was delighted, "Really? You’ll take ? I knew you cared about the most."
With that, she leaned in, giving him a peck, and earnestly promised, "Don’t worry, no matter how the other party makes things hard for , I will strive to persuade them and not let you down!"
Jordan nodded, pulling her into an affectionate embrace.
Brooke could feel that his coldness towards her seed to dissipate a bit, reinforcing her determination to invite the legendary doctor from The Rowan dical Sect.
As long as Jordan’s leg could be healed, her marriage into the Hawthorne Family would surely be secured!
Thinking of this, Brooke served him more diligently, filled with satisfaction.
Sabrina Hayes, even if you temporarily overwhelm , so what?
In the end, the winner will still be !!!
...
After Zara started school, Sabrina Hayes focused all her attention on the research institute.
The data previously collected from the special forces team in the mountains all ca into use, giving the team’s research a head start.
The team mbers, faced with a sudden decrease in workload, were full of gratitude.
"I’m suddenly grateful I chose Miracle back then. President Hayes is simply a genius, highly efficient and teaching us so much!"
"Isn’t it? How does one attain such research abilities? There was a set of formula data I just couldn’t configure right, but she sorted it out with just a few tweaks."
"Not just us, even my university professor holds her in high regard and hopes to et her one day."
"Regardless, I’m sticking to her like glue; I’m not going anywhere!"
"..."
Outside the door, Sabrina and Josee Sheffield happened to overhear the conversation.
Josee chuckled, "Not bad, gaining a bunch of fans at work. How does it feel?"
Sabrina smoothed her skirt and laughed, "It feels pretty good. They’re excellent too. I have an eye for selecting people that will eventually beco pillars of our institute.
Once they can shoulder responsibilities, I will have it easier!"
She glanced at the ti, "Let’s hurry, the summit starts in two hours. I reckon there’ll be traffic today; it wouldn’t do to be late."
Josee nodded and picked up the pace.
As they left the research institute, the driver was already waiting. After getting in the car, they headed straight for the summit venue.
As they neared, just as Sabrina had said, there was a long traffic jam outside the venue.
When they finally got inside, they were already considered latecors.
Today’s summit gathered hundreds of companies from across the country, along with the dia. The grandeur was spectacular!
Josee knew Sabrina wasn’t fond of such settings, so upon entering, he led her to avoid the crowd and head to their seats.
However, he underestimated the presence ’Miracle’ had at this summit.
The organizers placed their seats in the first row, quite near the center.
As the two sat down, countless eyes turned toward them.
For a mont, Sabrina experienced what it felt like to be in the spotlight.
Feeling a bit overwheld, she asked Josee, "Did we... sit in the wrong place?"
With a look of doubt, Josee stood to check, "No, we didn’t."
"Haha."
A soft laugh suddenly ca from the front, followed by a sowhat familiar voice, "Miracle created such an unbelievable system. Many are here for you today; they want to et you."
As the voice fell, a sharp and capable figure appeared before the two.
It was Poppy Yates!
"Miss Yates?"
Sabrina greeted her with surprise, "You were invited too?"
Poppy nodded, "Yes, not only that, I’m seated right next to you."
Sabrina was slightly excited.
Having an acquaintance nearby made her feel more at ease!
Poppy soon sat and struck up a friendly conversation with her.
Though they had only t a few tis, the connection through Elder Yates made their conversation seamless.
Instead, it felt like a long-awaited chat between close friends.
Around them, people who hesitated to approach quickly gave in, eager to introduce themselves.
"Hello, President Sheffield, President Hayes, I’m from Creston Group in Nancress. I’ve long heard of your reputations and am honored to et you today. Is there a chance we could beco friends?"
"President Hayes, I’m from the Southeast Group. The system you developed is truly remarkable, and everyone in the industry is full of praise. Our company has been focused on research in this area for many years as well. Though we don’t have your impressive achievents, we’ve made so progress. If there’s an opportunity, I hope we can connect more."
"Before I ca, I heard President Hayes was young. I didn’t expect her to be so beautiful. You’re genuinely a model for the younger generation. We, the older folks, have to learn from you..."
"..."
In just a few minutes, Sabrina was surrounded by everyone.
At that mont, Jordan led Brooke to the scene.
As they entered, they witnessed the spectacle.
Sabrina stood in the center of the crowd, admired by all, dressed in a formal business suit, exuding a poised and elegant aura, exceptional and striking.
Beside her were figures often seen in financial news.
Ordinarily, it’s difficult for others to et them, let alone forge connections.
But now, these people were reversing roles, eager to befriend Sabrina, their expressions filled with fervor!
