Chapter 269: Chapter 269: Let’s Get a Divorce (Part 3)

"Promise me anything?" The smile on Vivian Yates’s lips deepened. She nodded smugly. "Alright then. Beg me. Get on your knees and beg me. Once I’m satisfied, maybe I’ll take pity on you!"

Annabelle Linton looked up, her face a mask of anger and humiliation, only to see Vivian’s icy smile. "What, you don’t want to get out? Don’t want to see your precious Leona anymore?"

Annabelle Linton seemed to struggle with herself for a moment before finally dropping to her knees. Gritting her teeth, she said, "I’m begging you to help me!"

But upon seeing this, Vivian Yates burst into wild, unrestrained laughter.

"Help you two meet?" Vivian Yates shot her a mocking glance. "And what would you do if you met? Give you a chance to tell everyone you were framed? Or let you tell everyone that I’m the one who framed you?"

Her vicious gaze fell to Annabelle’s stomach, her eyes turning cold and sinister. "Besides, you’re carrying a bastard in that belly of yours. How could I possibly let you live?!"

Annabelle Linton froze for a few seconds, her eyes widening in horror as she pointed a trembling finger at her. "You... you!"

"Figured it out now?" Seeing Annabelle Linton’s devastated expression, she let out another delighted laugh. "Too late, though. Heh, you idiot!"

Annabelle Linton stared at the woman before her in disbelief. "It was you. It was really you! Why would you do this? You’re so vicious... to frame me, you actually killed your own child! You bitch! You’re a heartless bitch, and you’ll die a miserable death! I’m going to tell them!"

"Tell them? Who would believe you? Can you even get past this iron door?"

Annabelle Linton froze. Vivian Yates’s smile only widened. "You caused my child’s death. You were the one who hit me with your car. You pushed me down the stairs. You shoved me into the water. And now you’re going to tell everyone that I’m the one framing you? Do you really think anyone will believe that?"

Annabelle Linton was rendered completely speechless, as if trying to recall something. Then, slowly, realization dawned, and she glared at the woman before her with fury. "You vicious woman... I treated you as my best friend. How did I ever wrong you? Why? Why are you doing this to me?"

Vivian Yates’s lips curled into a sneer full of mockery. "Who told you to steal Leona? To steal what belongs to me? Annabelle Linton, I told you a long time ago: Leona is mine, and the title of Mrs. Grant is mine too. You only have your own greed to blame for ending up like this. Who else is there to blame?"

As if that wasn’t enough to provoke Annabelle Linton, she added, "Oh, right. I forgot to tell you something. I was never pregnant. So, thank you! If it weren’t for you, I really wouldn’t have known how to explain the whole ’baby’ situation to Leona."

"That old man has been looking for you every day. He’s so worried he’s been hospitalized. Doesn’t he dote on you? Tell me, if I were to... arrange a little something at the hospital, wouldn’t you have some company on your way to the underworld?"

Annabelle Linton trembled with rage and lunged at her. "You bitch! As long as I, Annabelle Linton, am still breathing, I won’t let you hurt my grandfather! I’ll kill you!"

As Annabelle rushed toward her in a frenzy, Vivian Yates caught sight of a figure in her peripheral vision.

A flicker of malice crossed her eyes, but her expression shifted to one of sorrow as she looked at Annabelle Linton. "Annabelle, no matter what grudges there are between us, the child was innocent. I love Leona. That was our child, his flesh and blood. Even if I were willing to let you out, Leona wouldn’t be. My conscience wouldn’t allow it either. If you insist on blaming me, then just kill me today, too. My baby is gone... I don’t want to live anymore either..."

Just as Annabelle Linton’s hand was about to touch her, a powerful force gripped her arm and viciously flung her away.

Leona Grant roared, "Annabelle Linton! I never knew you could be so vicious! Not only did you kill my and Vivian’s child, but now you’ve even killed Vivian!"
