Chapter 866: 866. Jas Campbell felt sowhat uncomfortable inside. Chapter 866: 866. Jas Campbell felt sowhat uncomfortable inside. Elly Campbell saw that he was silent and threw herself into his arms with a bright laugh, coaxing, “Alright, I’ve praised Professor Ford enough with my words, whether that praise can be tucked into the heart is for Mom to decide. All I need to do is keep you in my heart.”

These sweet words from Elly Campbell indeed pleased Adam Jones. He watched as his previously sober expression quickly turned into one of relaxation.

Even the fact that his wife had forgotten her birthday didn’t bother him at all.

The banquet ended an hour later, and the guests gradually took their leave.

Old Master Campbell was also helped out by Elly.

“Old Jas, why don’t you stay here for the night and head back tomorrow? It’s not too late,” Master Clark suggested, trying to persuade him to stay.

Back in their youth, the two n were comrades in arms. Later on, Master Clark retired from the military to pursue higher education at a university, eventually becoming a professor, while Jas Campbell remained in the forces, climbing the ranks to his current status.

Though they pursued different paths, their bond had remained strong, ultimately even leading to their families becoming connected by marriage.

Due to Jas Campbell’s son’s disgraceful behavior, he had always felt he owed an apology to the Clark parents and Jenna Clark.

Even though they did not bla him, he still felt too ashad to face them.

Especially today, when that bastard dared to bring that disgraceful woman to his forr father-in-law’s birthday banquet, causing such a scandal. It was clear he did it to embarrass them on purpose.

How could Old Master Campbell have the face to stay? He was seething with anger and wished he could go back imdiately and break Jas’s legs.

Holding back his fury, he politely declined Master Clark’s kindness, and upon leaving, he ran into Jas and his mistress, lody Baker.

Since lody Baker beca aware of Old Master Campbell’s influence, she dared not provoke him lightly. When she saw his gaze directed at her, she was so scared that she hid behind Jas.

Jas himself couldn’t understand what was wrong with him today. Ever since he had seen Jenna, he felt extrely uncomfortable, especially seeing Jamuna Ford so attentively caring for her by her side, which inexplicably infuriated him.

Was he jealous to see his ex-wife well off?

Because he was feeling off, the sight of lody Baker who had embarrassed him today now hiding behind him like a child only irritated him further.

He rarely showed her a stern face and said, “What are you doing? My dad is not so kind of flood or fierce beast!”

lody Baker wanted to argue back, thinking to herself that her father-in-law was more terrifying than any flood or beast.

But the next second, her head shot up in surprise, as if she couldn’t believe Jas would speak to her in such a tone.

Even Elly Campbell, who had co out with Adam Jones to see off Old Master Campbell, raised her eyebrows in amusent when she heard Jas’s unexpected remark.

It was rare, Jas actually showing an unpleasant face to his mistress.

Was it because she had made him lose face at his grandfather’s birthday feast, or was it because Jas wanted to curry favor with his grandfather, deliberately making those comnts for his grandfather to hear?

Old Master Campbell had long since considered Jas as good as dead, so when he heard him speak, his expression was unmoved, as if the “dad” in Jas’s words wasn’t him at all.

“Grandpa,” Elly Campbell shifted her gaze from Jas’s face and approached Old Master Campbell.

“Grandpa, it has been a long ti since you saw Grandpa Clark. Why not stay over for the night?”

Elly Campbell knew Old Master Campbell must be feeling too guilty about Jas and lody Baker’s actions to feel comfortable staying with the Clarks.
