Chapter 402: 402. Such a useless thing_1 Chapter 402: 402. Such a useless thing_1 And yet, just as Elly had stumbled, unable to dodge Jas Campbell’s thrown cup.

Elly Campbell saw things were looking bad and stepped forward to pull Elly aside; coincidentally, the cup in Jas’s hand struck Elly Campbell’s face.

Elly’s skin was very fair, so when struck by the cup, it imdiately reddened over a large area, and her face turned dark with pain right away.

This also left Jas Campbell and lody Baker dumbfounded, and the living room fell silent in an instant.

“Are you alright, Elly?”

Elly quickly walked over to Elly Campbell, checking the wound on her face.

“It’s nothing.”

But the cup was hard, and the strength behind Jas’s throw was enough to ensure her face wouldn’t escape unscathed.

Elly Campbell rubbed the sore cheek where she had been hit and looked towards Jas, her eyes now filled with an icy coldness.

This ti, Jas ca seeking Elly Campbell’s aid, never intending to argue with her. If it weren’t for that bitch Elly, things wouldn’t have gotten to this point.

“This… this isn’t my fault; it was Elly who started it first.”

Jas seed flustered, looking at Elly Campbell’s icy gaze, he urgently explained.

“Playing the older brother and laying hands on your sister, it seems you can only find a sense of superiority from won.”

After dropping that line, Elly Campbell stopped paying Jas any attention and had Jane fetch her so linint before heading upstairs.

Seeing Elly Campbell leave like that, lody Baker panicked and hurriedly tugged Jas’s clothes, urging him to call Elly Campbell back.

Jas really cared about his daughter Sophie Baker and, caring little for his dignity at this mont, quickly called out to stop her, “Elly Campbell, don’t leave yet.”

In the past, Elly Campbell would at least turn back to look at him out of courtesy, but this ti, even after he called out, she didn’t so much as pause her stride for half a second.

And so he watched helplessly as she walked away… walked away…

Watching the disdainful way the couple in front of her was ignored satisfied Elly greatly. She had the living room cleaned up and, relaxing in front of the television, she had soone bring her a pot of coffee and leisurely started to enjoy it.

And there was Jas, the Old Master’s eldest son, now looking very much like an unwelco outsider, to the extent that even the servants were unwilling to deal with him.

“Jas…”

lody Baker felt like she was falling apart inside. Since Jas divorced Jenna Clark, she thought she had turned her life around, but no – she was brought to the old man’s birthday celebration only to be subjected to mockery and insult.

Just as she thought she and her daughter could finally stand tall and proud of Elly Campbell, even putting that little wretch in her place, Adam Jones put her daughter straight into a detention center.

And now, here she was, having to grovel before Elly Campbell, and the latter wouldn’t even spare her a glance.

lody Baker couldn’t help but think about what kind of man Jas really was; useless against his own father, his ex-wife, his daughter, and now seemingly helpless against this sister who seed to have appeared out of nowhere.

He really was useless!

These thoughts, however, lody Baker only dared to keep to herself.

“Jas, what do we do? Sophie is in the detention center; she must be so scared…”

lody Baker’s voice choked up, her eyes red, making her look genuinely pitiable.

Jas couldn’t stand to see lody Baker like this. He held her hand and gently patted it, comforting her, “I will go find Elly Campbell.”

What relieved Jas was the fact that this was still his ho, the Old Master had not yet openly announced to kick him out. Right now, he was free to co and go in this house.
