Selim never went to college, subconsciously equating college students with high school students.

They dress simply, don’t dye their hair, don’t wear makeup or jewelry.

At her school, if a girl shows up wearing makeup and styled clothes, she’s definitely soone who doesn’t study, only indulges in leisure and early dating—a poor student.

Now, hearing Laura Jones say this, she strongly disagrees with her opinion.

People who spend all day thinking about makeup and fashion couldn’t possibly study well.

However, Laura Jones is a student at Chicago University; her classmates who got into Chicago University are definitely the brightest of the bright.

No matter how much she disagrees inside, she wouldn’t openly refute Laura Jones’s opinion.

After all, Laura Jones could easily call upon a Chicago University student to prove her wrong.

Selim secretly rolled her eyes and then smiled, saying:

"You’re right, I misunderstood."

Then she changed the subject, saying:

"The food is ready, let serve it."

"Okay."

Laura Jones didn’t pursue the topic further with Selim.

She knows that even though Selim verbally agreed with her view, her mind wouldn’t actually change.

Honestly, after staying together these few days, Laura Jones wasn’t completely disappointed in Selim; but all these small flaws in her were quite many.

Especially the tendency to gossip behind people’s backs, that’s sothing Laura Jones just couldn’t get involved with.

This matter ends here; neither of them brought it up again.

After dinner, Laura Jones cleared the table and put the dishes in the dishwasher, then went to take a shower.

Selim, anwhile, sat in the living room watching TV.

After staying here a few days, Selim was clearly less restrained than she initially was.

Life beca particularly comfortable, especially at Laura Jones’s place where she didn’t have to spend a penny to enjoy imported snacks and fruits she couldn’t afford at ho.

And she’d never seen a TV as big and high-definition as the one at Laura Jones’s ho.

She sat cross-legged on the couch, holding a bowl of large strawberries, eating with relish.

The TV was broadcasting a drama at its most exciting part when her phone suddenly rang.

The phone’s poor sound quality made the ringtone sound rather harsh.

Startled, Selim was involuntarily filled with a bit of anger.

Fuming, she grabbed her phone and answered it with a trace of impatience in her voice, "Who is it?"

From the other end ca a man’s angry voice ranting, "You useless woman, where did you run off to? Don’t think that by hiding from , I can’t find you. With my connections, even if you’re dead and buried, I can dig you out."

On hearing the caller’s voice, Selim’s complexion turned completely pale with fright.

Her lips trembled.

But she still forced a smile, saying:

"C—Chicken Bro, it’s you. Didn’t I co to hang out with my friend recently? How could I be avoiding you? If I wanted to hide from you, I wouldn’t have answered your call."

"Hah! You useless woman, pay up quickly, or when I find you, I’ll break your legs."

Selim was terribly frightened, all the color drained from her face.

"Chicken Bro, I definitely will pay you back. The friend I’m staying with now is super rich; we’re close, and she’s sure to lend the money. Please give a few more days, okay?"

She bowed and scraped on the phone, "Chicken Bro, I’m not lying to you. My friend’s house is incredibly wealthy; if you don’t believe , I’ll send you so pictures of her ho to show you later."
