At this mont, Helen lendy, with experience, understood Harry Hall’s look at once. She instinctively took two steps back and turned to escape, but Harry grabbed her back.
"I’m on my Period!"
She blurted out.
"Liar, your Period just ended a few days ago!"
As soon as the words fell, his kiss landed on Helen lendy’s lips.
When the kiss reached a passionate point, Helen lendy felt a bit out of breath. The next second, she forcefully pushed him away and quickly ran toward the bathroom.
Harry Hall was startled by her actions and hurriedly followed her in.
He saw Helen lendy leaning over the toilet, struggling with dry heaves.
"Honey, what’s wrong?"
He squatted down beside Helen lendy, nervously watching her face turn pale.
After a few dry heaves, Helen vomited, and the pungent sour sll filled the entire bathroom.
Harry Hall was scared by this scene and could only gently rub her back. After she finished vomiting, he asked:
"How are you feeling, any better?"
"It’s nothing."
Helen lendy waved her hand and mumbled:
"Strange, I didn’t eat much tonight."
The dinner at the Smith Family’s event was personally prepared by several world-renowned Michelin chefs, so there was no concern regarding hygiene.
But this wasn’t the first ti tonight she felt like throwing up.
Suddenly, Harry Hall thought of sothing and asked, "Honey, have you had your monthly visit this month?"
Harry Hall rembered Helen lendy’s cycle very clearly. It was just last week, and during those days each month, he made a point of not touching her.
This month too, he naturally assud she had already had her visitor, but what if she hadn’t?
Helen lendy was montarily stunned by Harry Hall’s question. She understood the implication of his query.
Only then did she realize her Period was already nearly 10 days late.
Harry Hall saw her expression and understood imdiately. The expression on his face beca sowhat peculiar at that mont.
Half-smiling, half-crying, looking at Helen lendy like an idiot, he finally managed to squeeze out a sentence, "Could I have hit the mark and you’re really pregnant?"
"I... I don’t know either."
The two highly intelligent spouses suddenly turned into a pair of clueless idiots.
After a long while, Harry Hall finally gathered his thoughts and said:
"I’ll go call the doctor."
With that, he dashed out of the bathroom, only to be pulled back by Helen lendy.
"It’s late, no need to bother the doctor. Going to the hospital tomorrow is just the sa."
But Harry Hall couldn’t wait until tomorrow morning. If he couldn’t get a definitive answer tonight, he figured he wouldn’t sleep a wink.
Seeing him like this, Helen lendy felt a bit helpless.
If she were really pregnant, fine. But if not, having the family doctor make a special trip would make her feel guilty.
Though the Smith Family did have a family doctor on hand, disturbing the doctor at this hour didn’t sit right with Helen lendy.
Yet seeing Harry so restless, she couldn’t bear it and eventually said:
"Alright, go ahead and ask the doctor to co over."
Harry Hall’s face imdiately broke into a smile as he quickly went out and coincidentally ran into Charles Smith going upstairs with a coffee.
"Dad."
"What’s the rush, what’s happened?"
"Helen might be pregnant."
The coffee in Charles Smith’s hand shook hard.
