Helen lendy looked Johnson Fefferman up and down, noticing that he clearly had sothing to say to her, so she found an excuse to leave.
"You guys chat first, I’ve got sothing to discuss with my brother."
When she ntioned Edward Smith, a touch of discomfort appeared on Johnson’s face.
Helen’s lips curled slightly upward, and she took her leave.
"You wanted to talk to about sothing?"
Elly Campbell looked at her, raising an eyebrow.
Ever since that ti she left Greece to return to Germany and Adam Jones personally flew to Germany to warn her, they hadn’t t again.
At that ti, Elly actually felt quite regretful; she genuinely liked Johnson as a person.
Such a person is a great ally as a comrade and an equally matched opponent when adversarial.
But this person coveted her husband, and that, she could not tolerate.
Johnson, seeing Elly, felt a bit awkward but did not avoid her. Instead, he openly apologized. "I’m here to apologize to you for what I did before."
"For coveting my husband?"
Elly asked directly. Johnson was initially stunned, then smiled candidly and nodded, admitting, "Yes."
"It’s just a pity that Adam never saw that way."
"Yes, it’s a real pity. You’re beautiful and capable; whether in terms of knowledge, family background, looks, or work ability, you’re more than worthy of him."
Elly praised sincerely, and Johnson, not being humble, accepted the complint and then said:
"Is that a complint from you?"
"I guess it is."
Elly laughed:
"No matter how outstanding soone is, my Adam only loves . Which ans I must be more outstanding than you."
Johnson: "..."
She looked at Elly, and after a mont, burst into laughter, then said earnestly:
"To be honest, if it were soone else, I really wouldn’t be convinced and would be unwilling, but for you... well, I admit you’re indeed more outstanding than ."
Elly also candidly accepted her complint and then said:
"You, a perfectly fine lady, with so many excellent n in this world, why insist on putting yourself through such trouble? Is it worth the risk for an already married man like Adam Jones?"
Luckily, those few people didn’t have the guts to do anything to Johnson back then, or else the consequences would have been unimaginable.
Johnson knew what Elly was referring to. This matter couldn’t be hidden from Adam Jones, and naturally not from Elly either, but she had no intention of denying it.
With the passing of ti, she truly felt a bit silly back then, and thinking back now, she regrets it sowhat.
But at that ti, she felt that if she didn’t try, she would never be at peace with herself.
She shook her head with a wry smile at Elly. "Of course, it wasn’t worth it."
"Exactly, isn’t there soone truly worth your attention that you haven’t noticed?"
Elly’s words caused a rare look of discomfort in Johnson’s eyes. "What are you saying?"
Elly had not seen Johnson many tis, but such an expression of unease she had never witnessed.
Intrigued, she shook her head, "Nothing."
After parting with Elly, Helen lendy went to find Edward Smith.
After all, when it cos to her brother’s lifelong happiness, Helen was very concerned.
Johnson ca over, certainly at her brother’s invitation. If she doesn’t find a chance to spend more ti with him now, who knows how long it’ll be before their mom gets to hold a grandchild?
"Shannon Richards? What is she doing here?"
Helen’s eyes narrowed thoughtfully.
