Shannon Richards did not speak, she just silently wept.
She didn’t agree with Leanne Richards, nor did she defend Helen lendy.
In short, the fight between these two was none of her business; she only wanted to achieve her own goals.
Seeing Shannon’s silence, that aggrieved and helpless look nearly broke Leanne’s heart.
"Okay, okay, Shannon, Aunt promises you, I will avoid Helen lendy in the future, alright?"
Shannon looked at her with red-rimd eyes and said:
"Aunt, don’t you understand? It’s not whether you choose to avoid her, but whether Helen lendy is willing to let you off."
"I’d like to see her try!"
Leanne bristled upon hearing this, "What? Now that she’s transford from a wild chicken into a phoenix, she wants to take revenge on , her legitimate mother-in-law? She doesn’t fear being judged as unfilial by the world!"
Shannon gently wiped her tears, "Aunt, let’s not talk about whether the world will judge her or not, but our family has already been ssed up by my cousin, and if the Smith Family gets involved, the Richards Clan is truly finished."
Her tears flowed more urgently, "Aunt, even if the world judges her, so what? Will it harm her anyway? She will continue to be the Young Miss of the Hall Family and the Smith Family’s heiress, but our family will be done for."
Though angry, Leanne had to admit that Shannon had spoken sensibly, and it did frighten her.
If even the dostic holdings of the Richards Clan couldn’t be maintained, how could she face her brother, her parents, her ancestors?
Leanne, flustered by Shannon’s words, frowned and worriedly said:
"Then tell , what should I do? Should I kneel before Helen lendy and apologize to her?"
Upon hearing this, Shannon knew her earlier performance had moved Leanne and quickly said:
"Aunt, I heard that Helen lendy’s birthday is coming up, and the Smith Family is throwing her a party; I bet they want to announce her identity. Since you’re her mother-in-law, the Smith Family must have sent you an invitation, right?"
Upon hearing Shannon ntion the invitation, Leanne’s expression changed, and she reluctantly nodded, "Yes, it’s over there."
She pointed to the trash bin by the table and said.
Shannon looked in the direction she pointed. The invitation, embossed in gold, clearly reflected the host’s noble standing, and yet, she threw it away like that.
Such ignorance was truly rare; she still had no understanding of her own status and predicant.
In her heart, Shannon couldn’t help but roll her eyes at Leanne, afraid the invitation would be tarnished, and without concern for it being dirty, she took the invitation from the trash bin, holding it protectively like a treasure.
"Shannon, are you suggesting I go to the Smith Family to celebrate Helen lendy’s birthday?"
Having tricked the invitation out of Leanne, Shannon would never let her go over.
If the Smith Family or Helen lendy saw her with Leanne, wouldn’t it just add another black mark against her?
Thinking this, Shannon said:
"No, Aunt."
Shannon, sowhat awkward, bit her lower lip and said:
"Aunt, don’t bla for speaking harshly, but if you go to the Smith Family now, they won’t treat you kindly. Think about it, Madam Smith watched you humiliate Helen lendy firsthand; how could they send you an invitation? It’s obviously a sche to humiliate you publicly in front of all the important figures in this circle."
Shannon’s words clearly influenced Leanne.
She thought the sa thing when she first received the invitation, which was why she tossed it away.
