Saying this, his gaze gradually deepened, and he added, "I want to hear the truth."

Helen lendy didn’t nod in agreent directly, instead, she proposed, "Let’s exchange one question each."

Edward Smith furrowed his brow without speaking. His intuition told him that his sister was holding back a lot of mischief, just waiting to pour it all over him.

"Not agreeing?"

Seeing him silent for so long, Helen lendy raised an eyebrow and asked.

Edward Smith thought of Johnson Fefferman’s exasperated tone on the phone, pondered for a mont, and nodded, "Alright."

"I’ll go first."

Helen lendy quickly took the lead, blocking Edward Smith’s escape route.

Edward Smith frowned and said, "I’ll go first."

As long as he got the answer he was thinking of, he wouldn’t answer Helen’s question.

But being siblings, Helen lendy saw through what Edward Smith was up to right away.

Not only did she see through him, but she also directly exposed his thoughts, saying:

"Big brother, don’t think I don’t know what you’re thinking. Are you thinking that once you get the answer from , you can avoid answering my question?"

Edward Smith: "..."

He averted his gaze from Helen lendy, with a tinge of guilt, and feebly denied:

"No such thing."

Evelyn Taylor watched her son show a rare mont of guilt and gave a thumbs-up to her daughter, "Brilliant, simply brilliant."

Helen lendy accepted her mother’s praise with equanimity, then arrogantly tilted her chin at Edward Smith.

Knowing that this newly found sister was not as easy to fool as Olivia Smith, in the end, Edward Smith chose to compromise.

"Fine, you ask."

Helen lendy smiled contentedly and straightforwardly asked:

"Big brother, are you secretly in love with Johnson Fefferman?"

Edward Smith’s face slightly darkened, as if a bit embarrassed by having his secret guessed.

Evelyn Taylor leaned in beside Helen lendy, "Sweetheart, you’re too direct with your question. It’ll make your brother shy."

Her voice was intentionally lowered but was loud enough for Edward Smith to hear clearly.

"Oh, then let ask, does Johnson know you’re secretly in love with her?"

Edward Smith: "..."

What’s the difference between those two questions?

"In your eyes, does your big brother need to have a secret crush on soone?"

"You haven’t answered my question, so I refuse to answer yours."

For the first ti, Edward Smith found himself unable to counter soone.

"No, no, I don’t have a secret crush on Johnson Fefferman."

He answered decisively, "Now it’s my turn to ask, do you know what Elly Campbell said to Johnson Fefferman?"

"No idea."

Helen lendy shrugged, spreading her hands helplessly.

Edward Smith furrowed his brows and his eyes darkened, "I want to hear the truth."

Helen lendy wasn’t afraid of Edward Smith’s angry deanor; she even found so spare ti to complain to Evelyn Taylor:

"Look at big brother, just a few days ago, he said he was happy to have as his sister, and now he’s showing attitude for a woman."

"Exactly, treating your sister this way over a woman who’s not even related, do you think that’s justified?"

Evelyn Taylor followed Helen lendy’s lead, giving Edward Smith a reproachful look.

It was the first ti Edward Smith had witnessed how unreasonable won could be, and it was truly terrifying.

In the past, none of the won around him dared to act this way in front of him.

Helen lendy didn’t pursue or accuse him further. Instead, she just sighed and said:

"Big brother, you can’t do this. If you don’t answer my question honestly, how can you expect to answer yours honestly? You can’t be so double-standard."
