Chapter 1913: Chapter 1913: Sumr Hall Side Story (115)

She has always been respectful towards her Aunt Leanne, knowing she could gain a lot of small benefits from her.

But these small advantages pale in comparison to marrying Edward Smith, the wealthy catch.

She looked at Leanne Richards, as if feeling she hadn’t dealt enough of a blow, and said:

“Aunt, you’re Helen lendy’s mother-in-law, didn’t you know when she acknowledged another mother?”

Her eyelid flickered, and she added, “Did Cousin Harry never ntion it to you?”

Sure enough, Leanne’s face suddenly turned pale.

Harry Hall, that ungrateful son, doesn’t see her as his mother at all, but even if he had a shred of motherly affection for her, he wouldn’t treat his uncle this way.

Now, Shannon Richards’ seemingly innocent question resonated with a hint of mockery.

She staggered, her vision starting to blur.

Anyone being a daughter of the Smith Family would be fine, but she couldn’t bear to accept Helen lendy, whom she always looked down on and considered insignificant, suddenly soaring and transforming from a taphorical wild duck into a true phoenix.

That’s the Smith Family, and while the Hall Family is not inferior to the Smith Family, she, as the matriarch of the Hall Family, is not favored by her son.

If Helen lendy has a noble status, what advantage would she have over her in the future?

“No, Helen lendy cannot be the Smith Family’s daughter, she must have used so seductive tricks to deceive Madam Smith.”

She started deceiving herself, refusing to consider the two almost identical faces.

However, Shannon Richards didn’t want to pass up such a golden opportunity; seeing Leanne deceiving herself, she stomped her foot angrily.

Suddenly rembering sothing, she looked at Leanne and asked:

“Aunt, what did Helen lendy an just now, saying you were using the Richards Clan to test Cousin’s limits?”

After asking this question, Shannon seed to suddenly understand sothing. Her eyelid twitched sharply, looking at Leanne in disbelief as she shrieked:

“Could it be that the collapse of the Richards Clan in New Horse was because of you, Aunt? Did Cousin Harry retaliate against the Richards Clan because you provoked Helen lendy?”

She looked at Leanne’s flickering gaze and confird her suspicion even more.

Although the Richards Clan isn’t as notable as those top conglorates, being backed by the Hall Clan, it wouldn’t easily collapse, especially not so suddenly and repeatedly.

Now she understood, this was all orchestrated by Cousin Harry; he vented his anger on the Richards Clan because of Aunt Leanne, implicating the entire Richards Clan.

And the root cause of the whole matter was her aunt, her father’s own sister.

Shannon Richards was furious, hopping mad, wishing she could jab her finger at Leanne’s head and scold her a few tis for being a fool.

“Aunt, what is your motive? My father is your biological brother. Just because you dislike Helen lendy, would you wager the future of the Richards Clan to oppose her?”

Shannon’s voice was sharp, and Leanne, knowing she was at fault, was particularly despondent, given that her brother is her lifeline. Having hard her brother miserably, she couldn’t muster any defiance before her niece. She opened her mouth, eager to explain herself but didn’t know how to begin.

“Do you know my father has been working tirelessly for the Richards Clan, and he’s recently fallen ill? Because you sought temporary gratification, you caused all his efforts to go down the drain. If he knew this was all because of you, how heartbroken he would be.”

As Shannon spoke, she began to cry.

She didn’t phrase things too harshly, fully adopting the posture of an innocent victim caught in the crossfire.
