Chapter 1901: Chapter 1901: Sumr Hall Side Story (103)

As she spoke, she took hold of Harry Hall’s arm, her eyes mischievously sparkling, saying:

“He’d rather not return to the Smith Family; I’m just not letting him have his way.”

Harry Hall was amused by her, lifted his hand to gently poke her on the head, and said:

“Whatever you want to do, just go ahead and do it. No matter what, your husband’s got your back. But, you still need to watch out for those two—dumb and wicked ones are the hardest to deal with.”

“I got it, you really are naggy.”

Helen lendy rolled her eyes at him, then suddenly thought of sothing and said:

“Now that I’ve acknowledged them, we should find a ti to pay them a proper visit soon, can’t keep having them accommodate .”

She recalled her mother’s gaze, always filled with flattery and expectation, and felt a twinge of heartache.

Though they had just reunited, perhaps it was mother-daughter instinct; she could sense her mother being so careful around her, possibly worrying that she might accidentally say or do sothing wrong and make Helen feel wronged, right?

Sigh~~

Helen sighed deeply.

“Alright then, let’s go out tomorrow morning, select so gifts and find ti to visit them.”

“Thank you, hubby.”

“No need to thank .”

Harry Hall chuckled, lifting a finger to tap his own cheek, bright-eyed as he looked at her.

Helen lendy understood, leaned in without hesitation and gave him a peck on the cheek, causing Harry Hall to burst into laughter.

The next day, Evelyn Taylor got up early to get ready to visit her daughter.

As she descended the stairs, she saw Olivia Smith vigorously scrubbing the floor with a rag, while the maid from whom she had taken over the task looked sowhat helpless, not knowing what to do.

“Miss, let handle it, you should rest, this is for us maids to do.”

Olivia Smith paused her movents, her peripheral vision catching sight of Evelyn Taylor standing silently at the staircase, her gaze flickering.

Then, she rose from the floor, her sore back aching, and said to the maid:

“Sister, I want to do sothing—even though I’m clumsy. I can’t do anything well, except maybe wiping the floor. So, how about you let the butler assign you other tasks?”

“Well…”

The maid looked awkwardly at the old butler who had just entered, naturally, he overheard their conversation, recalling the instructions of the Young Master from the previous day, he couldn’t help but sigh inwardly.

The Young Master was a bit excessive towards Miss Olivia, even if she wasn’t his biological sister, he shouldn’t dean her like this.

The old butler walked up, took the rag from Olivia’s hand, his tone sowhat stern, saying:

“Miss, though you aren’t the Old Master and Lady’s biological daughter, don’t regard yourself as a servant either. What the Young Master said yesterday was out of anger, why would you…”

The butler sighed, shaking his head in disbelief.

Olivia, however, was moved to tears by his words, choking up as she said:

“Oh, butler, I’m not biologically related to mom and dad, so there’s no reason for to stay in this house. If I don’t contribute, staying here shalessly would just be too lowly. Butler, please let work.”

She looked at the old butler with pleading eyes.

The old butler, tasked with managing the Smith Family’s estate and with the family only returning from New Horse during holidays or ancestor commoration days from New Horse, was unfamiliar with the current master’s family’s personalities.
