Thomas Smith’s deep voice carried an unmistakable seriousness, causing Olivia’s heart to skip a beat.

"What’s going on, second brother, tell ."

Thomas kept his gaze fixed on her eyes and asked:

"You had Night Eagle watch Helen lendy—was it really just because you fancy Harry Hall, or are you keeping sothing from ?"

At his words, Olivia’s heart sank. She hurried to explain, but Thomas beat her to it, saying:

"Olivia, you must answer honestly; otherwise, if our eldest brother finds out anything, I really can’t help you."

His serious gaze locked onto Olivia’s panicked eyes, adding, "Do I need to remind you what kind of person our eldest brother is?"

Olivia thought of Edward Smith’s face, and her heart involuntarily trembled. Yet, she gritted her teeth and refused to tell Thomas the truth, only looking at him sorrowfully and responding:

"Second brother, now everyone in the family except you doesn’t trust . Are you going to doubt too?"

As she spoke, tears began falling, one after another, and she looked at Thomas with an accusing gaze.

"Second brother, I’ve liked being around you since childhood; you understand the most. If I had known Helen lendy was your real sister, would I have kept it a secret all this ti?"

She paused as if comprehending sothing, shook her head, and smiled bitterly, "Second brother, do you also think I’m reluctant to give up the identity of the Smith Family’s young lady and want to do sothing to Helen lendy?"

She extended her hand and wiped her face hard, looking both enraged and sad, "We grew up together; is this how you see ?"

Olivia’s sharp questioning left Thomas stunned, not knowing how to refute, and he could only shake his head repeatedly, denying, "No, that’s not what I ant."

"Then why did you ask that question?"

Thomas was most afraid of seeing Olivia cry. After her accusations and questioning, he couldn’t think straight, just blushing silently.

A mont later, he stamred softly:

"Second brother was just surprised; I’ve never heard you ntion Harry Hall before. Suddenly hearing you say you fell in love with him at first sight was unexpected."

Thomas kept his original thoughts to himself and explained this way.

Olivia knew that now only Thomas in the entire Smith Family would stand by her. She couldn’t recklessly exhaust Thomas’s goodwill and patience, so seeing him relent, she dared not hold onto it further, only her eyes turning red again as she said:

"That’s because I know Harry Hall has a girlfriend, and no matter how much I like him, I can’t be the third wheel. Since I can’t have him, why ntion it to increase sorrow?"

Saying this, she raised her hand to wipe away tears, unable to hide her grief, "But I still harbored a little selfishness, hoping that if they quarreled and broke up, I might have a chance, so I had Night Eagle watch them."

After speaking, she pulled on Thomas’s sleeve with grievance and anxiety, gently shaking it twice, and softly said:

"Second brother, believe , if I really wanted the young lady identity, I would’ve had Night Eagle deal with Helen lendy long ago. How could it have lasted until now?"

Her eyes were red, and her pitiful appearance had already completely fooled Thomas, who stood by her the entire ti.
