Capítulo 1818: Chapter 1818: Sumr Hall Side Story (20)

Imdiately following, soft lips covered his, leaving Harry Hall dumbfounded.

Edward Smith ca to Greece specifically to attend the wedding of Helen lendy and Harry Hall. After the wedding, he took a helicopter straight back to his ho in New Horse.

It was a classic European villa with an exterior that looked sowhat old yet imposing.

Outside, there was a sprawling lawn spanning hundreds of acres, hosting two massive, snow-white Samoyeds. At the mont, they were grinning, joyfully barking at Edward’s car.

Beside the Samoyeds sat a dignified woman in casual attire.

The two Samoyeds lay on either side of her, their eyes gleaming as they watched Edward alight from the car.

Edward walked over, and the two Samoyeds leapt up, clasping his arms, full of adoration.

Edward reached out to gently rub the heads of the two large dogs, then walked over to the elegant lady. He was just about to speak but suddenly froze.

He stared at the woman’s face in front of him, her exquisite features naturally bestowed.

This face seed like a masterpiece ticulously sculpted by the goddess Nüwa herself, nothing short of brilliant craftsmanship.

Every line was perfectly proportioned; adding or subtracting even a fraction would seem less than perfect.

Seeing him suddenly stop talking and just staring at her, the woman couldn’t help but laugh.

“Why are you staring at your mother like that? Don’t you recognize ?”

The woman’s voice was gentle, starkly contrasting with Edward’s cold and hard deanor.

Yet, the two were indeed an authentic mother-son pair.

Edward didn’t resemble his mother much; he took after his father, Charles Smith.

But upon closer inspection, there were indeed slight resemblances between his brow and eyes to his mother’s.

Edward snapped back to reality, recalling why he had been distracted, and glanced again at his mother’s face.

His mother, Evelyn Taylor, also hailed from a prestigious family and was a well-educated lady of high standing.

In her youth, she was stunning, and even though her son was now thirty, she still carried an ageless grace that ordinary people couldn’t compete with.

Seeing her son lost in thought while staring at her again, she couldn’t resist teasing:

“Have you been a bachelor for thirty years so long that you’re now srized at the sight of an older woman?”

Edward: “…”

His dear mother could never stay serious for long.

Judging by her appearance and voice, she was undoubtedly a refined lady of noble birth. But those who knew her well understood that within her, there resided the heart of a boisterous man.

It was typically in such monts that Edward chose not to engage with Evelyn’s words—the more he engaged, the more spirited she beca.

Yet Evelyn was different; even if a hundred boisterous n resided in her, her son was still her son. She still worried about his lifelong matters as any mother would.

“Xiao Xiao…”

“Mom!”

As soon as Edward heard this “nickna,” even though inside he was as calm as a mountain, he couldn’t hold it back any longer.

“Mom, you can call Xiao, or just son, but that nickna, please don’t ever use it again.”

Evelyn was nonchalant, “Why? You’re my son, can’t a mother use an affectionate term?”

“No!”

Edward refused without a second thought, decisively and without room for argunt.

Evelyn was a bit dissatisfied, slightly pouting with her perfect lips, yet she didn’t continue to provoke her son’s tigress-like temper.

She simply said:

“You’re already of a certain age; do you really plan to stay single for life? You should seize the chance while your mother is still young to have children, so I can help you take care of them…”
