Harry Hall suddenly made this request, leaving Helen lendy utterly stunned once again.
"If I take care of you, Elly Campbell can spend more ti on herself and her family. This way, wouldn’t you be relieving her of a burden?"
He tried to persuade Helen lendy from Elly Campbell’s perspective, though he himself wasn’t holding much hope that Helen would actually agree to marry him.
Originally, he had stopped ntioning the engagent between them out of fear that pushing her would drive her further away.
But now, with Elly suddenly in trouble, she would surely bla herself, feeling like she’s been a burden. Could he perhaps "seize the opportunity"?
Harry felt that his thinking was sowhat wrong, yet he also thought this was a great chance.
After all, no matter whom she eventually marries, it does not bring him peace unless she marries him.
Seeing her in a daze and silent, Harry had no choice but to suppress his eagerness and continue persuading patiently:
"Helen, it’s not that we don’t love each other; it’s just that you’ve forgotten. I believe you’ll rember sooner or later."
Fearing Helen wouldn’t believe him, he made a pledge:
"If you don’t trust , and one day you rember and find that I was lying to you, then, if you want a divorce, I’ll divorce you. Is that alright?"
Hearing Leo’s step-by-step compromise and concession, Helen lendy felt increasingly conflicted.
Actually, she believed everything Harry was saying.
He had no reason to deceive her, besides, she had always been secretly in love with him.
However, this secret crush was mixed with the sort of admiration a fan has for a celebrity. So when their relationship suddenly beca so close, it left her feeling bewildered and at a loss.
"But... but what if I don’t like you that much?"
Helen hesitantly asked him.
In fact, she wanted to ask, what if she didn’t love him?
But on second thought, bringing up "love" at this ti seed too affected, so she adjusted her words slightly.
Harry was delighted to see she didn’t firmly oppose, his eyes sparkling as he asked:
"Not liking a lot ans you like a little, right?"
Helen was taken aback, seeing Harry gently tap her on the head seriously, saying:
"As long as you don’t hate , then after we get married, you can gradually start to like . If you can fall in love with , even better."
His voice was always so gentle it could drown a person, completely different from the aloof, distant senior she knew from campus.
And she believed this gentleness from Harry was reserved solely for her.
"Besides, I also believe that after marrying , you won’t be thinking of marrying any other man."
Helen was amused by his conceited words.
She thought about the question she had been pondering these days.
Ever since Elly told her she was originally going to agree to stay by Leo Hall’s side in exchange for her antidote, she couldn’t stop thinking that this foot issue might have pressured her too much.
She always felt it was her fault Elly lost her mory, her fault she couldn’t walk, her fault she couldn’t be with Harry Hall.
Only after Leo proposed such a terrible exchange condition did she consider agreeing to him.
What if... what if she married Harry Hall?
