“Mom, you and Professor Ford should head back too.”
Jenna Clark knew she couldn’t persuade Adam Jones, so she finally gave up.
Elly Campbell accompanied the Old Master back, and Jenna Clark and Jamuna Ford were also driven to the Jones Family’s house by the driver.
Currently, aside from Adam Jones, only Harry Hall and Helen lendy were left at the hospital.
Since Elly’s accident, Helen hadn’t rested and had been here for over ten hours.
“Helen, you’ve been sitting here for over ten hours. Let take you back first.”
Helen lendy didn’t really want to leave, but seeing Adam’s expression, she thought it over and nodded, “Alright.”
Harry Hall patted Adam on the shoulder, “It’s okay, she might wake up tomorrow.”
Adam Jones nodded slightly, “Yeah, you guys go back. I can handle things here alone.”
“Don’t overexert yourself. If you’re tired, find a place to lie down. She won’t wake up before tomorrow at the earliest.”
Seeing the exhaustion on his friend’s face and the persistent bloodshot eyes, Harry couldn’t help but remind him.
Adam Jones responded perfunctorily, letting Harry and the others leave.
He sat on the long bench outside the intensive care unit, his gaze fixed quietly on the window of the ward. After a long ti, he rubbed his face hard to make himself appear more awake.
Soon, Robert Green arrived.
“Boss, here’s the mall surveillance footage capturing the scene when Mrs. Campbell fell.”
Robert Green had been Adam’s personal assistant for ten years, and he knew precisely what Adam needed from his team.
After returning from Paris and disembarking from the plane, Adam rushed straight to the hospital, while Robert went to the mall to obtain the surveillance footage.
Adam reached out for it. The second-floor cara was directed right at Elly’s position, capturing the scene with perfect clarity and no obstruction, fully recording the mont Elly fell.
Elly had hurried out of the won’s lingerie store on the second floor, jogging toward the escalator, but then suddenly stopped. Her legs seed to freeze.
However, her upper body leaned forward due to inertia, and without her legs catching up, she fell straight down.
Watching the mont Elly fell, Adam’s pupils contracted violently, and his heart felt as if it were being twisted by a knife.
He replayed the video, slowing it down to watch it again.
He saw clearly that during Elly’s jog, at that last mont, her feet couldn’t move, and her body fell due to inertia.
This reminded him of the two previous tis she’d fallen suddenly…
On those two occasions, he hadn’t witnessed her falling with his own eyes, only heard her talk about tripping while walking, and each ti she fell quite badly.
If… if at that mont her legs could move, instinctive self-protection wouldn’t have resulted in such a fall.
His gaze fixed on the video, replaying it repeatedly, confirming his suspicion further.
At that ti, her legs couldn’t move. They weren’t numb, but stiff.
“Elly still has things she’s hiding from .”
Adam murmured, his voice hoarse.
He couldn’t believe that if he could see it in the surveillance footage, Elly herself wouldn’t have felt it during those two falls.
Yet, despite several dical checkups, she had never ntioned it to him or the doctors.
