The last bit of hope Elly Campbell had in her heart was thoroughly shattered at this mont.
She stood in Adam Jones’s embrace, on the verge of collapse; if it weren’t for Adam holding her, she might have fallen at any mont.
He was the one she had carried for ten months and almost lost at birth. The little guy had to stay in the incubator for a whole month to make it through the dangerous period.
She thought he would grow up safe and sound, but now he’s been taken away, whereabouts unknown.
If William Campbell can’t be found for the rest of his life, she doesn’t know if she can endure it.
“Is the gate by the vegetable garden usually open?”
A criminal investigator ca over and asked the Principal.
ntioning that vegetable garden gate, the Principal’s face changed, “Could it be that the child was taken through that gate?”
Seeing Adam and Elly Campbell direct their gaze to her, she quickly explained,
“That gate is only opened when the gardener cos to fertilize. During those tis, the children are in class and don’t co here. Once fertilizing is done, the gate is locked, and only the gardener and I have keys; no one from the outside can get in.”
Afraid of being blad for not ensuring security responsibilities, she continued,
“And at the other entrances and exits of the kindergarten, we have security guards. Unless they have the access card we give to parents, outsiders can’t co in.”
After the Principal finished speaking, the investigator had roughly organized so thoughts.
“Bring that gardener over, we need to ask him so questions.”
Soon enough, upon learning the child was taken through that gate, the gardener hurried over, anxious.
From him, they learned that he always kept the key on a chain around his neck, never taking it off, even when showering or sleeping. Outsiders can’t access this key.
The gardener’s family all live in his hotown, and he lives alone here.
That ans the gardener is the only person beside the Principal who can unlock the gate and enter.
When William Campbell was taken, the gardener was at the market buying vegetables, with a complete alibi.
“This shows that the person who took the child should be soone from inside the kindergarten.”
Since outsiders couldn’t get in and the gate could only be opened from the inside, it must be an employee from inside the kindergarten.
Adam Jones furrowed his brow and said to the detective, “My son is a very cautious person; he wouldn’t go with soone unless it was soone he knows.”
The detective nodded and said,
“There are only two possibilities now: either the child voluntarily went with soone, or he was forcibly drugged and taken away.”
If the child wasn’t drugged, he would have cried out for help imdiately; there’s no way there wouldn’t be any commotion at all.
“Boss, there’s no surveillance in the back alley. Cars appeared near the rear alley, and the traffic at that ti was quite heavy. We’re going through them one by one.”
Adam Jones didn’t entirely rely on the police; by the ti they’re done investigating, who knows what might happen to his son.
He took Elly back first, leaving the matter to the police while arranging his own people to search.
If it’s a kidnapping for ransom, they will contact him sooner or later. Before they contact him, William should still be safe.
But if it’s child trafficking, the consequences could be dire.
